Ed had already mentioned that a deal wasn't going to happen, but Dybala has confirmed that he will be moving to Juve.

On to the next target then.

So, going by the thorough rundown given by ed002 on our rumours page, it seems our most likely targets are as follows.
Cech
Schneiderlin
Martinez
And possibly another defender.
Is everyone else as excited as I am at the possibility as I am? Cech and Schneiderlin will be able to hit the ground running and I think Martinez is a gem. If it happens, job very well done.

3 major signings that will push us up another level.

Ancelotti sacked, the premier league is totally sane compared to La liga.

26 May 2015 00:01:05
He didn't do his job, win trophies. They will get a new manager next season and they will win and if they don't he will be joining andy chellotty in the dole queue.

Agree0 Disagree2

26 May 2015 05:19:38
He won 4 trophies in two seasons.
He won Real Madrid their historic 10th Champions League.
He was 2 and 3 points off winning the title in those seasons.
He went on a 22 game winning streak.
He had a win rate of 75%

Him getting sacked is just insanity. Considering aswell that he doesn't even sign his own players, Perez does. And he also allowed Di Maria and Alonso to leave.

Really feel for Carlo..

26 May 2015 08:39:41
The players didn't want him to go, the fans didn't want him to go and the President don't want him to go either so why did he have to go? Because that's what Real do and no one really knows why.
But if they do get Benitez :-) Ancelotti will be back in charge before next season ends, he will have his back op and then set about rebuilding what Rafa breaks

One of the London rags had Bellerin as breakthrough youngster of the year? No disrespect to Bellerin, he is going to be great but le Coq is far and away the breakthrough youngster of the year!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

25 May 2015 21:37:43
I'd go along with that rooster mate but as you say Hectors done brilliant too, how lucky we are to have them both and best of all its based on what they are already producing on a regular basis most weeks not all about the dreaded P word and what they might do one fine day.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2015 21:45:28
To be fair Red, I don't think there's a lot in it.

Both been fantastic since they broke into starting 11.

26 May 2015 00:08:59
I think all of u are vastly over rating coq. But that is for another time.

But Bellerin looks a class act, I'm not surprised he got the vote. Quick, skillfull and quite strong to. If he can really master the art of a Ashley Cole type full back in terms of defending and attacking, wot a player u will have. (Until barca want him back).

Agree0 Disagree1

26 May 2015 06:52:58
Come on Chris, you can't seriously tell me you don't rate the Coq. You love the Coq. I think you secretly wish you had a Coq instead of a Van Pussy.

Hahaha very good, if I leave the goal open u will tuck it away :)

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2015 17:40:57
i would say bellerin because at 24 coq can't really be classed as a youngsterand i think a players breakthrough year is when they first play in the first team, which would be 11-12 for coq

Just wondering if there is any arsenal interest in some players I think could be bargains. Abdul Rahman baba, Kevin wimmer, nolito, darmian,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Rahman is expensive and could be headed to another London side. Wimmer is heading to another London side. Nolito is of interest to a northern side. Darmain is an option for another London side if someone decides not to renew his contract.}

25 May 2015 23:54:52
4 or so years ago, Abdul Rahman was supposed to
have trials with us from Asante Kotoko(Ghana) the clubs mouthpiece published, but it never happened, don't know why. I watched him play and I thought he was a good player even then.

can't see wenger signing a striker, he'll say we have giroud, danny and theo ( if he signs new deal) but if we did go for a striker would anyone like benteke? he has pl experience.
i reckon we'll most probably sign a keeper and a dm.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 May 2015 17:26:39
Too similiar to Giroud for me. To make the most of Ozil we need someone who can move and make great runs. I wouldn't be against a punt at Berahino although Walcott would be the far cheaper option.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 May 2015 17:55:20
Charlie Austin.

Sorted :-)

Agree0 Disagree1

26 May 2015 10:40:44
Benteke can run in behind too, he's a lot faster than you'd think - faster than Austin that's for sure. There's been times where he's nicked the ball in his own half and jetted off to the goal, leaving defenders for dead.

I'd happily take Benteke but Berahino is a good shout too. Charlie Austin is a great striker but wouldn't be my preference, personally.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Benteke can do that, but he doesn't, that is why he would not suit Arsenal at all. Berahino is attitude on legs, same agent as Raheem Sterling too, you really don't want the brat at your club with that agent in tow. As for Austin, he has quality, is a big, strong lad, but he needs to be more professional off the pitch.}

26 May 2015 13:12:41
Do you not think he can adapt his style of play for a different system/team ed, especially since the attributes are already there? Also, Austin doesn't do that either - they're both big and strong, both have scored goals for a poor team, Benteke is faster but Austin has been more consistent this season so I don't really know.

I know what you mean about Berahino too, although I've heard whispers that the OX could also be sharing their agent soon. Probably a load of old poppycock.

Transfer wishlist.

Out
Santi Cazorla 12
Theo Walcott 30
Lukas Podolski 5
Joel Campbell 10

In
Morgen Schneiderlin 25
Peter Cech 10
Pedro 10
Karim Benzema 30

Did I wish well?

Out's...cazorla and Theo?

No, no, no Sen.

I would rather have Vidal playing next to Coq.

Benzema

Ozil

Sanchez - Vidal - Coq - Theo

Keep back 4 as plenty cover

New keeper - Cech

25 May 2015 15:49:29
No room for Aaron or the Ox SY?

25 May 2015 16:01:22
I would have Ramsey before ozil

Agree1 Disagree1

25 May 2015 16:40:05
G62 - I am a huge Jack, Rambo, Ox and Santi fan as well as Giroud but if we are to step up then we need a stronger central core plus rotation / squad depth.

I am sure Rambo would get plenty games but with Vidal, Coq, Rambo etc - there needs to be some big calls or we won't win the league....

The above gives us Rambo / Vidal , Coq / Vidal, Rambo / Vidal combinations to suit who we are playing

Still room for sentiment and good players like Ox and co but they may not be in my strongest 11

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2015 23:15:09
IDEALLY I'd take in Handanovic, Javi Martinez and Lacazette. Those being somewhat realistic but blissfully ignorant of injury problems and the fact Arsenal are showing little or no interest in 1/2/3 of them. Heck, I'll throw in Yaya too.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2015 12:54:04
Walcott performs whenever his contract is due. Coincidence or he's like an employee performing best just before the performance cycle ends?

That was his first Prem start in over 2 months.

Give the guy a break.

25 May 2015 15:31:21
DG - totally agree

He got injured at work and was risked by Wenger & medical team playing against the Spuds

He is a great talent as well as a frustrating player to watch but he has so much to offer that we should keep him

Also heard questions about giving him a pay rise - why not. He was injured playing in our shirt and playing real well

To replace him - you would have to pay 20 to 30m plus similar wages to what he is requesting. Let's pay up and move on.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 May 2015 15:36:04
id like to see Theo have a good run as a striker tbh but as a wide player I'd not keep him for that

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2015 16:14:13
And the rest of the squad too SY? £1 million a man that's £25 million pay rise, same question if Theo why not all others?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2015 16:43:59
G62 - if in contract then they probably have increases. Their next opportunity is when contract is up for renewal or club wants to extend existing contract

Like it or not - Bosman ruling changed the world as have Sky & agents.....

We stand to lose a lot if we sell him

I think there is a place fir him - if we are forced to sell then you can knock a chunk off the asking price

He is English, fast, good finisher and a good PR revenue for club

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2015 17:30:28
Not a massive fan of Walcott but certainly hard to judge him when he does not get a good run of games. Against all be it a very poor West Brom team, We played some of the best football as a team for a long time. Ozil looked better with the movement up top instead of the battering ram that is Giroud.

Anyone else rate Brady at Hull? He never puts a bad cross in and we could do with someone like that I can't belive how bad we are at corners when we have players like ozil and caz not being able to beat first man on a corner.
When we do play against teams playing deep having decent cross coming into the box for the likes of Giroud would be good

Believable0 Unbelievable1

25 May 2015 09:39:10
brady at hull? what are you smoking arsene? haha

im not aware of the stats but we are one of the top teams in scoring from set pieces, so not every ball goes in, but we have done fairly well in that department over the season.

what has disappointed me is closing the gap on chelsea and not winning the sunderland and swansea game, even killing the Manchester United game in the second half. i know all ifs and buts but those games would have given the fans something to cheer about, and while the title was gone, our objective was 2nd and we bottled it.

24 May 2015 23:38:37
Theo Walcott proving he is a top player and are best finisher. His pace worries teams, his finishing is sharp, and he is also proving he can play ST aswell as RW.

I know he probably does not deserve his pay raise. But what is it. £20k more a week? Just give it to him. Worse case scenario he continues to be injury prone and shiw glimpses of his true ability.

However if we sell him, he could go to City or Liverpool and score 25/30 goals a season, with one of those teams pipping us to a title or champions league spot.

Keep Walcott as he is a quality player, and we have more than enough cover in Ox, Welbeck and Campbell/Gnabry when he's injured.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

25 May 2015 01:30:29
Walcott defo has something and I would like to keep him but it's hard to judge off of one game. Too often when teams sit 10 behind the ball with us and we just kick the ball around the edge of the box does Theo disappear or just stand somewhere completely unplayable. No doubt he can be massive for us against teams that play high and we can get in behind but our biggest problem is teams that sit deep and give us the space outside the box. For that you need a clinical one shot goal type of guy that can create a chance from nothing and I don't know of Theo is that guy. Does he deserve 20k more? If someone at your work place came back after a year off sick and asked for a pay rise would you say yes? I'd like to keep him and play him more centrally next year but still don't think he's our ST solution

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2015 09:46:20
one game wonder, while it was a good game to watch, and wilshere and walcott were busy having a kick about, one pulis made the changes, brought some energy into his team, wilshere and walcott were effectively neutralised.

not that giroud did a great deal lot, and sanchez seems fatigued, while ozil clearly is not a 90 min player, but has been improving over the past few months.

we ended the season on a good note, we need players like ozil to work on stamina, and strength, because he lacks nothing else( that we require him for)

if liverpool want walcott for sterling, i would gladly do it. not to say walcott won't score 20 goals in a season, he may quite rightly be a terror with sturridge, but we need dynamism, and sterling provides that.

however i do not see arsenal landing a player who will be the 3rd highest paid player at the age of 22, and has shown nothing but potential.

if he accepts 70k plus bonus then maybe

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2015 10:01:31
Thats 20,000 reasons to sell and by a player who see's player for Arsenal as a honour.
If we have £20k a week to throw away give it to Kos, never a moments trouble seldom plays badly and loyal beyond question

G62,

Lay off my boy Theo.

He's a game changer and a match winner.

I agree, he shouldn't be asking for a pay rise, although that could just be paper talk.

He's been out for a year, but when fully fit he's crucial to our cause of trying to win trophies.

He is almost back to form and fitness, yesterdays hat trick proves that.

Leave the kid alone.

You have been warned, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2015 23:03:46
Dandan, it's on Wenger if he doesn't pick the right player for the job. Obviously Walcott will be more effective against some teams than others.

In my opinion, we shouldn't say no to selling Walcott. If a good offer comes along, great! If not it's fine. I would happily lose Walcott if we bought Lacazette regardless if you believe that he's a winger or not.
