Fantastic day for Arsenal. That won't be the only time I say that this season, there really is so much talent in this squad, which is why some of the pessimism bewilders me. But that's another debate and let's leave that alone today. Much more importantly, let's all spare a thought for Derby. I think he's topped himself.

The pessimism is bewildering Ubi especially if you ignore, the west Ham champions league and Chelsea results plus the fact Leicester could and should have been 3 O up in the first 20 minutes today.
If you ignore those things the mind boggles

Probably/possibly the most topsy turvy season I have ever known.

Ps, topsy/turvy...when was last time you used that expression?

Think you've just dragged it kicking and screaming out of the 90's dags. Same place you get most of your jokes from isn't it?

An but we have a champions league game midweek so will be tired, oh we get a day extra to recover. Well its always difficult away to any side in the premier league, oh where at home. An but your manager has had over a year now to stamp his mark on your team and you are not exactly strapped for cash, oh.
Caz! Caz is out suspended and if he wasn't we'd have beaten you easy peasy, phew i was struggling there for a minute

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 21:29:51
Look G62 if we can't beat them we defo ain't good enough to win the league from what I have seen of United we should be topping the level they are playing at if not forget about it

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 21:44:22
I''ll happily give 100-1 on 2-0 United

26 Sep 2015 22:21:56
I do think you have to take into account 28 if we lose that we are a work in progress and our potential is beyond question we're just not the finished article yet, a draw and we're not far away but patience is needed for jusr a few more yeaes and if we should beat the league leaders well surely it just goes to show how right Arsene was not to panic in the summer and it would put the Crystal Palace victory at standard bridge in the shade.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 23:19:01
Look United have surprised me a little they are doing better than I thought but I still think we should beat them. They haven't played anyone yet

Hey, I'm game for a little wager. I'm liking those odds of 100/1 for 2-0 offered by ubi.

Me and G62 had a little wager last season :) which resulted in a £10 donation from g62.

27 Sep 2015 07:38:28
Is it just Chris that offers out too I might bet against us if that's the odds. It would sweeten the blow!

Good game from Walcott. More all round striker's game. We look imbalanced in midfield. With this line up move to a diamond with Sanchez and Walcott as the two up front? Sanchez and Ramsey still too many give aways. Cech good value for the extra two poonts today.

Was the result of the day away from home to an in form Leicester . Would of been nice to keep a clean sheet!

But three points off top and we have yet to hit consistent form United have arguably had the easier start (not taking nothing away from them) so the leagues wide open we have seen the best and worst of every team and it's basically all square. And we have beaten the only unbeaten team in prem.

Oh and Newcastle just gone 1 up happy days

Not much point in me adding to what Ubi has said, well apart from asking are your team still going to walk to the title this season as you predicted after 3 games.

Getting a little embarassing now fella. :-)

26 Sep 2015 14:06:46
Seems he's doing great for them...comes into a team with a 100% win ratio and then they lose two on the bounce, good spot Derby.

26 Sep 2015 14:23:00
They've conceded a goal to Lamela now. All the top sides are doing that though. How much did Otamendi cost again?

Arsene Wenger is bullet proof and has the safest job in football no matter how well or badly Arsenal do, thanks for pointing that out José your a genius and apparently an Arsenal fan too now it seems.
This may come as a surprise to the bitter one but everyone already knew that and surely for the rest of football its good news that we have a manager who doesn't need to fulfill our clubs fantastic potential to keep his job, surely only a gooner could see that as a bad thing and rant publicly about it.
Ooooh to be José, oooh to be me

Mourinho is becoming an embarrassment. It makes me appreciate Wenger even more. He has been at the club for almost 20 years and has won many trophies. Yes, there was a barren period whilst we buit and paid for the stadium. Now we have won trophies two seasons running and the squad is looking good, bar a couple of signings. Other than financially doped Man C, Man U & Chelsea, I can't think of any more successful Premier League team over the last 20 years.
We have a decent squad, a modern stadium, great training facillities and Wenger has given us Champions League football every season. We are nor far off joining the top European teams.
Yes Mourinho has won trophies, but he rarely stays long at a club and doesn't build for the future. When Wenger eventually goes, he will leave a club in excellent shape for the new manager.

Modern day football though mate. Managers won't do that long again I don't think

Can't really add to that. The above is exactly how I feel about our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't think of any more successful Premier League team over the last 20 years.

Come off it

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Sep 2015 09:35:56
Apart from City, Chelsea and United...so 4th most successful then?

I like Wenger think he's a good manager but all top teams now spend money Barca, Real, Bayern as well as your Epl rivals. In today's game you could argue that Arsenal are financially shy rather than those clubs being financially doped as you put it. I thought the whole point of the emirates was to even the playing field in that respect? Money should no longer be an excuse for Wenger to hide behind, especially with so much of it sat in the bank.

Mourinho is a t1t though I agree! But he also tends to bring success in the short term - they are opposites of each other in many ways.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 09:44:30
Did you know that if you discount all the countries that have a better economic record over the last 20 years than Britain's that Britain actually has the best.
Also if you if you don't count the Beatles Abba and other groups that outsold fun boy three are the world's biggest selling band.
I must update my CV I'm underselling myself if you don't count the majority of other people who are better than me :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 09:45:29

Most successful team in the last 20 years .........a million miles away from that

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Sep 2015 10:42:29
That's an excellent post Honey mate, mourinho is obviously jealous of Arsene because none of his employers have ever felt about him as the Arsenal board feel about Wenger.
Every time mourinho leaves a club its either by mutual consent or the clubs chioce he just doesn't get the love he craves from his employers and recents recents Arsene getting it so freely and in his view undeservedly.
The facts are José its the way you go about things that makes those you represent dislike you dispite the success you bring them, you will never get the love you crave because of you not Arsene, Arsene is not your problem José you are.
Arsene Wenger is most definitely the premier leagues biggest under achiever if you measure £ for £ plus time in the job and resources to hand but mourinho is without question the one with the biggest problems because were ever he goes his problems will always go with him.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 11:28:01
Good post - look what Chelsea, City and Utd have spent over the past 8 years. Not many teams without that money can even compete - except us. I think Wenger has done an awesome job.
Why don't you try and win fantasy football with 75 m to spend and let 4 of your mates have 500m with no restriction and see how YOU do. Give it a go and get back to me!

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 11:58:55
Or try getting 4th on Norwich or Swansea or Southamptons budget, 4th with Arsenal most seasons and the occasional distant 3rd isn't the greatest of achievements in my book.
We are not minnows we just compare our achiements to smaller clubs to make our self's look good and moan about those who spend more to achieve their ambitions because it shows how little ambition we really have our selfs.
Arsene Wenger an excuse for every occasion or Arsene Wenger the great achiever who keeps us above the likes of west brom west Ham and Stoke season after season?
I guess it comes down to if you really consider 4th place Arsenal football clubs limit

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 12:46:14
62 - I am not saying 4th is our goal but given our resources 3rd or 4th is not under achieving or enough for the manager to get sacked.
I want to compete for the title but I also understand that we have had our hands tied a bit and it is a slight handicapped race but we can still hope and want to compete as we have built a strong squad and now have funds at long last....

Anyone have any idea how long before Coquelin will be playing again?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

26 Sep 2015 07:50:28
No idea, but I awlays shudder when I hear that we have a player with a little knock, which then turns into a long term injury.
Given the following options to replace Coquelin for today's match, which would be your choice:

1) Arteta.
2) Flamini
3) Ramsey
4) Other

I believe Wenger will go with Arteta alongside Cazorla. I thought Arteta was poor when we beat Tottenham. Mind you, other than Flamini's excellent goals, I thought he wasn't much better!

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 08:54:16
Correct , Arteta was poor and looked old IMO, if Coq is out for a long period it will again expose our frailties in this position, let's hope its a quick return

Wenger says it's short term, so probably about three months out, then an operation.
