I'm wobbling Steve. I am starting to wonder if Wenger will ever win the EPL again and that you are right and have been right all along. I'm expecting the four horseman of the apocalypse to enter at any point, as this must surely signal the end of the age.

Leicester have no cup games. No Europe. Big advantage. I think Barcelona will end us tho.

Ozil, I don't want to be right. Not at all, i'm just very frustrated with this club and its lack of seizing the moment.

Ozil I haven't lost hope, just faith i'm afraid.

I have Steve, and I said it when the CL draw came out. that's curtains for that comp. Luckily the FA Cup has been very kind to us.

The bloke in charge needs shooting if Spuds, M city and Leicester all finish above us.

Dare I say Man U have found form.

For us to have any chance, then we have to beat the 3 teams above us.

Red dog I no your not a Kane fan as previously stated. But even you must say he's the real deal and would walk into our team.

02 Feb 2016 22:36:15
Mate there is nothing not to like about Kane but he will never play for Arsenal. That in a nut shell is why I have no interest in him, rather than don't rate or like him.

Bony and Benteke on the other hand are utter garbage. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2016 23:20:12
Bony and benteke will both do well at there next clubs for me. We shell see in the summer.

You say you have no interest but you say you didn't like kane because you didn't like average strikers? So you know rate him and admit you were harsh?

Your Wenger lifting title dream seems to be slipping.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2016 23:25:16
Also do you only watch arsenal games? There's a whole world of teams and players out there mate. Its ok to follow players that don't play for us.

We are 6th in Goals Scored this season (Everton and West Ham have scored more) . We are probably top in chances created. Here lies the problem.

so after tonight's game we are now 5 points behind and level on points with the spuds who seem to have a good run going.

Win the league and our lack of summer and January spending is proven 100% right but if we don't and end the season off the pace again with £195 million in the bank then someone needs explain why.
As I said on live chat earlier no outfield players in the summer and a 5 million punt in January, so far our achievements match the ambition we've shown perfectly.

02 Feb 2016 22:38:48
We are hardly out of the title race, the cockerel will choke as it always does, we still need what we've always needed and that is a top class striker, but your right G62, we've had plenty of chance to strengthen.

02 Feb 2016 22:43:40

Can I just say that I love that Benik Afobe scored again.

How is Yaya Sanogo doing?

Yeah 20 attempts on goal tonight you would fancy Afobe with those chances.

Hey all,

Haven't posted in a while but just wanted to say big up to Joel Campbell. All thought he was as good as finished at Arsenal.

But now he's starting ahead of Walcott and the Ox. Which I am happy about to be honest, deserves it.

Could be rotation, but oh well still good on the lad for getting in contention.

Coquelin on the bench so not sure about rumours he has a kneww injury.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2016 20:34:53
If he had a knee injury he certainly wouldn't be on the bench ( Le Coq)

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2016 11:53:56
The team selection for tonight will be interesting. The keeper and back four pick themselves. I pray that Wenger plays Coquelin alongside Elneny in front of the back four, but have a horrible feeling that he may go for Flamini and Ramsey.
I would then play Walcott, Ozil and sanchez, with Giroud leading the attack. Thoughts?

02 Feb 2016 19:21:28
Sorry mate, it's flam and Rambo in the middle. And for some reason PM4 is named on the bench? Ain't he suspended?

The boys better be up for this game Southampton embarrassed us last time out. They should take that to heart and fight like crazy. I expect a 3-0 win payback time.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2016 08:22:02
Well there you go all. Another window comes and goes. Most of us have got use to it now. It's a bit like making up your Christmas list only to find that every year you wake up to nothing. But us Arsenal fans are immune to it now. Got to laugh haven't you. But in Wengers defence I seem to recollect him insinuating something along the lines that most, not all, players that move on in January are either unhappy or no longer pulling their weight in other words. can turn up with loads of baggage in tow. Maybe there is something in that? .

Believable0 Unbelievable2

02 Feb 2016 09:07:31
In all honesty, I'm not too disappointed. I don't think there were many players available who could have strengthened us.

Charlie Austin being the exception, but that ship sailed 2 weeks ago.

None of the big boys added to their squads and you could argue they, City apart, needed more strengthening than us.

We go again, starting from tonight against Southampton, and I firmly believe we still have our destiny in our own hands.

1-0 tonight, Sanchez.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2016 09:25:52
As much as I hate to sound like le prof to me "dat guy welbz" is better than Charlie Austin.

Neither are starters, both have names that sound suitably daft to scream at the tv when they inexplicably do something amazing after 88mins of not turning up.

But.
If we'd have signed him, the very second he missed a sitter everyone would be up in arms about us 'not being ambitious' etc etc.

Have we got any more points at this stage in any other recent season. Would we normally be in contention with 44 points. I know we are excited and i truely except that a player of the quality that would make a difference is not available! But I'm afraid to say we are no better than in recent seasons same old I think we all can agree.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2016 19:16:07
To be fair Charlie is available now and hasn't missed the last 10 months through injury plus his strike rate is mega impressive playing in a relegated side, if you was England manager and naming your squad for a tournament starting in 3 weeks time would you take Charlie or Danny if you had to chose between the two?
Dags you seem to have adopted the Liverpool " we go again' catchphrase mate :-)

Really big game tonight 3pts a must as now the city announcement has been made I'd expect their players to really rally behind Pelgrini to give him a the best parting gift possible plus they will all be trying to convince Pep they are worth keeping.
Hopefully our blip has been and gone and we can end the season well again, Olly simply has to stay fit between now and May.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

G62,

It seems like every game this season has started with the pre cursor that 3pts are vital. Every game in a season where you are trying to win the league is vital.

Will Arsenal players not be trying extra hard to win the league for Wenger as by all accounts it's his last best chance. Do players not try hard because they want to win trophies.

The grass always seems to be greener else where on this page, player, team or manager envy.

Sometimes you build a squad that as a whole is good enough to achieve an end result, you don't always need 11 Lionel Messi's. We have a strong squad which next season will be stronger again. Of that I don't have a single doubt.

We have an excellant chance with this squad, despite not signing anyone in January, of winning this reportedly easy league.

Easy that is unless you are a United fan who just found out Guardiola was going to city, in which case it's now reverted back to the toughest league in the world and he'll win nothing here.

Fickle fans, hey. 🙄. 😉.

{Ed025's Note - good post that red dog..

02 Feb 2016 14:43:58
On the contrary, it isn't thr the hardest league in the world and he will win this league easy. The technical level of the prem is poor and so is the tactical. Guadiolla will find this league a cake walk. Please will all the people banging on about him managing teams all ready the best. Barcelona when he took over were not winning things for two years, alien to us I know, he turned them round in weeks and won everything while he was there. Bayern was more straightforward and if he win the champs league this year he will achieve the goal.

02 Feb 2016 15:59:53

02 Feb 2016 16:42:06
I know I read that on your page too, it was almost as funny as shappy saying that you shouldn't go out and buy average players.

Isn't that a bit like shutting the door after the horse has bolted. ;-)

02 Feb 2016 11:39:03
Even though I tend to agree with you more often than not red dog, if we don't win the league this year you will have to stop banging that drum so loudly! And you can't ignore the fact that this year is the best chance in years . We won't be this close with 44points at this stage again let me tell you and also we haven't seen any real improvement on previous years thus far. But that said I can see us winning the league and if we do we really need to cement ourselves and 2-3 world class players will need to be bought! I can't see it any other way mate! But of course for now we as fans need to focus because the anxiety rubs off.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2016 19:24:59
Grow it is a great opportunity but I find it a little odd that it is supposed to be so easy, United and Chelsea have struggled, the latter taking 6 points from us, but that's it.

The money now involved has enabled Stoke City to bolster their squad with an £18 million pound player.

That's the big issue, the money available, every team wants to stay in the Premiership and are spending the money or have spent good money to achieve that.

It was said that City will up their game to win the title for Pelligrini, well every team is upping their game to stay in the Premiership. This is what makes it harder.

And Steve with a full strength team did Wengers tactics seal a 2-0 nil win against Bayern or did I just dream that. :-)

Whilst I think that Guardiola will do well in the Premier League, he still has to play away at far tougher places than Malaga or Hoffenheim.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2016 20:40:36
Red dog yes one game he did that, I thinkrwe needed the win slighty more than bayern who actually topped the league easily and do they have more of a sniff than us in the champs league. Pep nearly every year gets further than us. One swallow. can't really see the significance of your point but i'm sure you will enlighten us.
