Then Vodafone get in on the act Arsenal v Chelsea after the international break in what can only be described as a must thrash game.
The stakes are high this season and the expectations will be even higher by many.

Chris.

Even if you decide not to post, which I think would be a shame, o am sure you will at least read this.

Whatever is happening between you and Stoner, Stoner it surprises me. I hey on with both he and you so the issue between you and Stoner has me flummoxed.

We all have opinions and there will always be differences, but that is part of life.

Banter is why we are all here.

I hope you don't disappear bit if you do I respect your decision.

I don't think people on hear are sheep to Stone's Shepherd. And even if in a moment of annoyance think such a thing, saying isn't the ctr that I have always had an enjoyable discussion with on both Man U and Arsenal. Let just say that was a moment of silliness and move on.

We all need to do our best not to be rude to each other. Sometimes I think anyone can be guilty of typing things they might not actually say. This the curse of technology on our lives.

If you do decide to leave, which I hope you don't, I will keep you informed with regards to meeting up. That is without question.

I will also pop onto your page for a chat once in a while.

Hopefully reading this might change your perspective. If it doesn't, then at least I have tried to evidence we are all indivuals, I am for sure, and so we aren't sheep. ;)

There will always be moments. I took a long sabbatical as did Stoner. But it how we rise about them and move forward that defines us as decent human beings.

All of us have a choice how we behave, what we voice, how we react and how we let things get or not get to us

Me, I am a simple man who wants decency, respect and enjoyment to prevail, so will always try to make choice that bring such to fruition.

I don't always succeed but I always try.

Make the decision that works for you best.

This is rediculess. It's a banter page but no banter allowed really. I understand been personal is a no no and swearing and sick chanting not for this page. But come on CTR don't take your ball in . My personal view is don't get personal with each other unless mega obviously in jest.
All views are equal no matter how far apart they are, no one has a monopoly on being right and even Dags isn't always wrong ( can't remember a time he wasn't though :-)
CTR take 5 and come back mate.
The last time things got really personal on here between 2 people we lost a lot of really good posters many of who I haven't seen post since and that's a real shame.

C'mon guys, if it wasn't for the banter, this page, indeed website, would be as much use as a 2nd hand parachute from the pound shop.

Keep posting Chris, you are a good laugh, and Stoner just says things as he see's it, he's a good lad and a good poster.

It was from my post below. Nothing personal or nasty, pure banter. The fact is CTR doesn't handle reality checks very well, ruins the fantasy world he likes to live in. He's certainly fine with coming on here and dishing it, not so good at copping it though. I didn't have him pegged as a fair weather banter kinda guy but, obviously he doesn't like a 2 way street. All of a sudden it's abuse to remind him how terrible United have been in the last few years.

Hey CTR, I noticed this steaming pile from you earlier:

But really your team normally plays with a freedom oftern created by the pressure being off of a title run or CL tie to play.

I think you may be losing your grip on reality there sonny boy. I believe your team managed the freedom of not being under any pressure from CL or even Europa ties last season.

LVGs tactical genius even managed to lighten the load of the League Cup pressure by losing to MK Dons. You then lightened the pressure further when Valencia gifted Danny boy beautifully at OT in the FA Cup.

Lucky for you, the pressure was relieved so that you could scrape into 4th and a CL qualifier. Careful though, there'll be plenty of pressure, wouldn't want to lose there, that'd be downright embarrassing. But then, at least there'd be no CL pressure to worry about.

I'm not a great fan of the guy and he invariably posts crud for a reaction but all of that post was so wide of the mark it was genuinely embarrassing.

Oh my mistake outback, sorry I thought u done excellent especially with your title run in and CL run.

Instead of abuse why don't u tell exactly why that quote is not correct?

Shesh guys lighten up a bit.

CS, if you can't take a little bit of light hearted ribbing this page ain't missing much tbh, I suggest u grow a pair, at least stoner gives a little bit back, ok he offers not much in the way of a retort apart from silly remarks which allows his groupies to click his agree button, but he trys.

All in all my post was actually nothing different from what has been posted on here by various different posters all week but because I come on here as a rival fan I get abuse for it? I must admit I'm starting to get bored of u all a bit, this page used to be a place of fun where people could have actual banter now it's like the school playground, stoner of course being the daddy of the playground :) and Malaga his little obedient pet.

U will all miss me when I'm gone :) but don't fret little ones I will depart this playground since u lot can't take it anymore.

P.s stoner mines a Guinness 👍

Jim, G62 if u could post on the United page about this meet up that would be great as I would like to be kept in the loop guys and if u need help with anything just ask I'll see what I can do lads.

My reply was one of astonishment really, I simply said I thought it was good u having the debate over COQ and it was took down in minutes as I'm sure I gave the eds trouble with abuse (apologies lads)

Shame as like I said this was once a fun page but certain posters have made sure if u lot don't toe the line your against it.
So for now I have no interest in having any fun with most on here as they have shown that they would rather obey the elite posters than actually give an opinion. I don't deal with sheep, unlike Shepard stoner :)

Wow, apart from calling your snide remark a steaming pile, how was that abuse? All I did was give you a little dose of reality, by turning your " no CL tie pressure" comment on yourself. You like to come on here and have a go claiming it's just "banter" but, you cry abuse and play the martyr the minute you get a bit of "banter" back. If this is the schoolyard, then you're the kid that wants to play the rough games, then sooks to the teacher when they cop a hard knock. I was giving you some gentle ribbing because I thought you could take it but, apparently not. Don't worry princess I won't remind you of reality ever again, I don't want to ruffle your delicate constitution.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2015 01:14:04
Also, you should be well aware that this reply has nothing to do with your comments on Le Coq. I mean, I even copied and pasted the comment I was calling you out on. I didn't say we could of won the league etc outback said Valencia gifted Danny boy! He's your fan! But don't go on about our reserves (Danny boy played that game) losing to mk Dons without mentioning that a couple of months later we beat u at the Emirates (again) I know your heads might be in the clouds because half of you are too young to remember last time u finished above 4th but come on

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2015 08:14:45
Ummmm, Valencia's howler certainly did help. As for you winning at the Emirates, yep, you sure did. Must be the highlight of your season. Ours? Well beating your lot @ OT in the cup was nice, automatic CL qualification was even better and back to back FA Cups was just lovely. But, you know, well done on winning @ Emirates, helping you scrape into 4th after the embarrassing 7th the season before. Good luck in that CL qualification tie, the pressure may be a bit of a surprise after being mid table strugglers.

04 Jul 2015 08:20:32

For years we've had a crossword puzzle question Arsene and some fans didn't know the answer to despite other fans pundits and all continually shouting out the obvious answer a thousand times.
Question. Why are Arsenal so easily beaten in big games? After many many years of ignoring the obvious answer finally the peny dropped and Eureka we have a DM and beat utd and city away.
Football is continually changing and asking new questions but the answer to every question isn't DM just because it was right last time :-)

Believable1 Unbelievable0

03 Jul 2015 12:40:39
so you want Le coq to play 50 games next season or rely on some unproven kid for cover? G62 i agree with you usually but i think this one's a bit naive. i just feel it'd be good to get someone in who can play with Coquelin when we inevitably get Barca in the last 16 of champs cup, someone who can just share a bit of the work load over what will likely be a long season

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jul 2015 16:24:58
If I'm honest Saint I would sign someone like Diame from hull as cover for Le Coq at around 4 million and would only be looking to spend 30 + million on a regular starter,
I'm sure many will say he's not good enough and if I didn't think Le Coq was so good I would agree but sharing a role at 25 games each is impractical and I can only remember one manager ever playing 2 players in every other game and that was a very long time ago when Ron Greenwood couldn't chose between Shilton and Clemence.
I just can't see 2 top players sharing top billing for one role.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jul 2015 08:59:07
Long time reader, scarce poster.

The different views on le Coq on here are starting to get a bit silly some people hail him as the new Messiah while others say we need better. Neither of these statements is true.

Le Coq came into the side and has been immense but I think a bag of potato's that could block a through pass would have been a revelation for us at the time. This being said I actually think he has done well, his vision of passing from the back is something people seem to forget.

Does he need to be replaced? No. Do we need someone who can come into the side and do a job but could and/or should replace him? Yes definitely, if the right player comes in.

He doesn't need to be bettered but he needs to be at least equalled. He's not an all singing and dancing DM he's just the only one who does it in our team (and luckily quite well).

To summarize: le Coqs been immense but he needs at least a bit of competition or someone that he needs to get better than. But if not he'll do the job (unless he gets injured).

03 Jul 2015 13:51:24

Does anyone else think that we should try and get Jose Luis Gaya as our left back for years to come?

The guy looks class, and he and Bellerin could be the left and right back for Spain for years to come possibly.

I think he would be a good addition and I think if he is available we should look to try and get him.

Eds, do you know if he is available and if anyone has shown an interest such as us?

Also, my two pennies worth on the Le Coq discussion that has been going on for a few days.

Yes, he was magnificent for us when he came back. He earned the right to keep his place and play last season, and he played.

This season going forward, we need to definitely buy another DM as we are exposed if Le Coq is injured, but considering the amount of other very talented players who are not guaranteed first team action last season, Wilshire, Ramsey, then every player should be "bringing their A game" each week to fight to get on the team sheet for each game.

Adding a very good DM either makes Le Coq improve (and I think there is more to come) or a better player taking his spot until he deposes them. Competition brings the best out of the best, and shows the weaknesses of the weak.

Carvalho, although unknown in PL having never played here, looks a very good player. He is strong, mobile, has good feet, can play a pass, defensively minded but can link play to. He plays in a similar mould to, dare I say it, Yaya, and he cane play CB. Why would we not be interested. He or either of the Bender Bros (my preference would be Lars) would be welcome additions in my eyes.

If we can get Benzema or Lacazette (yes please Arsene, to Lacazette the wing wizard who looks like a striker to me)then I think we can go into any game with a pretty close first 11 to any team in the league no matter who they buy).

On a slightly different note, I am really looking forward to seeing Gabriel play this season, if he has got on top of the language, as he looks like a defensive warrior. He and Kos could be a real pairing if they click.

Hope everyone is well. Love you all. Have a good day.

Can't wait for your agreeing or disagreeing comments to my thoughts about.

Let the banter begin.

P.S. Stoner. Love seeing you back, love seeing your comments. Do you think, as I do, we are close to a return to the days of beautiful football AND beautiful results like 2004?

{Ed002's Note - Gaya was first choice for Chelsea but is not available.}

03 Jul 2015 09:26:40
Hi Jin mate, personally I'd sign cover for Le Coq but not someone who will block his path and the chance he's earned, if we sign Carvalho at £30 million he's not going to be cover at that money or with his ability and growing reputation he's going to be given and demand first choice billing.
This time last year I'd have said pay what it takes to get Carvalho Bender or who ever because our need was massive and if we had and Le Coq emerged as cover happy days but things haven't panned out that way and Le Coq has proved himself worthy of our trust in the season ahead at least and hopefully will extend that trust further still the more he plays.
Carvalho simply will not be joining us as anything other than our number 1_DM in my opinion mate.

G62.

I completely understand your view, but I think there will be teams and times where we could and possibly should play both.

It seems a strange position to be in, without question, but he has not played a full season at the pace of the PL and playing for us with our 100% energy style, and I think it is a big step up to do it week in week out.

To be honest, it is the first time in some time that Arsene has such a conundrum to concern himself with in the centre of midfield defensively.

Hopefully he will make the right decision.

Time will tell.

Hope your day has started well.

03 Jul 2015 10:35:13
The idea of having and starting both is appealing but who makes way to slow that :-) its a problem mate but we've had worse ones.
The thing that I see as our most likely downfall next season is rotation to keep all happy which I fear is going to happen if we sign a DM or not and I'm personally a big fan of playing your best 11 in every PL and CL game without fail and resting players in domestic cup games only.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jul 2015 11:04:24
Hey J,

It's been good to see you back too mate, I'm feeling genuinely positive about next season and little reason not to be.

Coquelin has been quality in that role and seems to have all the attributes to make the position his. Whilst I like Arteta he was our DM during the games against Chelsea, City and Liverpool where we fell apart. It's just not the right position for him so agree totally we need another.

Javi Martinez was once linked to us as was Lars Bender, Carvalho with a €37 million buy out clause is what seems to be most clubs concern when thinking of buying him. I really want to see another DM brought in, in the same mould, Wanyama being another option. It's a headache for Arsene and he has to get it right.

Gabriel I'm looking forward to seeing alongside Koscielny but read an article on the Arsenal web page where Szczesny voted him as having the worst banter as after 6 months he could still only say a few words in English so hope he gets that sorted.

Would love to see Lacazette, Sanchez and Walcott interchanging up front. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Lacezette, Walcott and Sanchez

or

Aubameyang, Walcott and Sanchez.

Whichever one, we would have the fastest front line that exists in football, at least in the PL.

I can dream!

Would be nice for either to become a reality though Stoner.

Isn't it nice to be able to be positive without seemingly being told that "one is detached from reality" as we used to be slated for when posting positivity in previous years Stoner!

It seems to have taken a long long time to get to feeling this good about the team, the change Sanchez and Coquelin have brought, the young guys starting to come of age with Ozil getting better and Cazorla showing what he can really do.

Aubameyang hasn't had a great time at Dortmund having been hailed as the next big thing so he does concern me but guess the same could be said of Lacazette if he turned up and didn't do the business.

I get the feeling Wenger knows who he wants for where but may well be playing his usual waiting game.

Still have every faith he can do it again, the money is there and he is putting together a great looking squad with a great looking style of play.

It won't be easy but I'm certain we'll be in it until the end. Be nice for Cech to pick up his 1st medal of his Arsenal career against them too. ;-)

And what if we signed Carvalho and he got injured in the community shield or like Di maria and Falco struggled with the premier league and then Le Coq got injured?
What if Petr Cech goes renegade and decides to help Mourinho out by costing us a few vital points and what if Sanchez is through one on one with the keeper and suddenly spontaneously combusts, its a worry I'll grant you that.
We have retained both Flamini and Artetta plus have Bielek if absolutely necessary as like should Both Monreal and Gibbs got injured we have to use Calum or Whatever.
We can't keep singing players for every position without letting some go just in case.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jul 2015 02:01:43
The le coq argument has started up again and have no idea why. When he came into the starting 11 our team was broken. We looked lost and it seemed we went 5 years backwards and wenger was under immense pressure.

Suddenly our team was transformed, from getting embarrassed by Southampton we became chelsea nearest rival. I'm not saying it was all down to le coq but he played a huge role from us being in 6th to us having a decent season.

We been crying out for a dmf for years but when we finally get one he needs replacing. This page has been dominated on how we need to sign scherdelin even though we are really short in other areas.

Our cf had to been subbed in a champion league game to be protected because he was having a stinker. Giroud also went 11 games without a goal yet le coq seems to be our weakest link. This is not a pop at giroud because I think he is an important squad player but compared to other European teams we are well short up front. Anyone who thinks walcott is the answer to our cf problems has forgotten the last 8 year where he hasn't ever looked close to being a top cf. 2 good games doesn't make you top draw.

I agree if there are players better than the ones we have now and in our financial reach we should try to sign them. But is schiderlin really better than le coq? There is a massive difference playing for arsenal along side santi and ozil compared to wanyama and davis. Southampton are extremely well drilled organised team and your job as dmf is so much easier when playing alongside 2 hard working players. Le coq doesn't even have that insurance and has been a revelation, our most consistent player and one of the finds of the season. Yes he needs support but we need strengthening in other areas and dmf is probably the least of our worries at the moment.

I know Noodles :-) years and years without a DM which we so desperately needed and after just 5 months of unrivaled form people are bored by him because he didn't cost anything and want a brand new shiny £30 million DM to show off.
Back up for Le Coq we should be looking to spend under £10 million not over £30 million on back up players but even then we need to make room we can't just keep signing MF players like autographs.
