03 Mar 2015 22:32:04
I know a lot of people think top 4 is in the bag for us but we're still 8 points behind where we were at this stage last season when we were eventually relieved to snatch 4th again, its not a case of being negative all I'm saying is there are lots of twists and turns to come yet during the run in.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2015 22:43:21
Not negativity g62 just reality, Games start getting harder, especially against the bottom teams who defend for there lives.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 22:43:57
Arsenal, man Utd, Southampton, Liverpool, Spuds.

And only 2 places.

I think QPR game is massive for us.
A win puts us 10 in front of Spuds.

As usual, I think it will go to the last game.

Love it. NOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 23:09:53
Its not in the bag but history tells u we make it. Of course we could miss out. I hope we get 3rd so we don't have the old we will wait till after the play off to spend talk

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 05:47:35
The run in for a top four place this season is going to be extremely competitive.
Chelsea have one of the four spots, so there are only 3 places up for grabs. Man City look likely to grab another of the spots, so that leaves Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool, Southampton and Tottenham fighting it out for the remaining two places.
Our run in, on paper, looks the easiest and we have more home matches to play and only 3 matches against the teams competing for the top four places.
Tonight's match is extremely important, as it is a winnable away match and a win would continue to put pressure on the other teams.

Agree3 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 08:32:38
We got 4th with 79 pts last season but I think 74/75 will be enough this time round, so we need 24 pts or 8 wins from our last 11 games.
If you look at our fixtures Liverpool chavs utd games stand out but there's very few others you would say were 100% 3pt bankers.
Dont get me wrong i think we will make it I just don't think its the forgone conclusion some do.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 12:41:14
Well nothing is in the bag honestly, let's hope by the time we face utd, GW 37, its more important to them than us, so we can bury it in thier faces.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 21:45:43
Damn you Southampton :-(

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - dont worry about them dags...they wont be in the top 6 at the end..

03 Mar 2015 22:01:07
Dunno Ed,

They keep hanging in there.

They don't seem to have an out and out goalscorer, but defensively, they are very good mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 22:11:32
I hope they hang on, as long as we get in, I would much rather them be with us thanananyone else, I'm a sucker for an underdog story :)

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 22:28:50
Eden did u ever hear about when a cat got trapped under a dead dog? You would like that story

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 22:39:08
I was doing a bit of plumbing once and got stuck under the toilet.

Oh wait, that's an underbog story.

Sorry.

Bit before my time, but have just read Dave Mackay has died.

Don't remember too much about him, but remember the pic of him grabbing Billy Bremner by the shirt.

RIP.

What do you horrible lot want to happen when Debuchy comes back injury? Do you think Bellerin has earned his place, in the short term at least. I would love to see Bellerin start with Debuchy on the bench. That certainly wouldn't please Debuchy but I can't help but feel with enough game time right now, Bellerin could be our number one RB for years to come.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2015 20:21:11
Love Bellerin but Debuchy is the finished article.

Between the pair of them, we could have the right back position locked down for the past 10 years.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 20:54:11
May the best right back win

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 20:58:00
Bellerin needs a rest, but doesn't deserve to lose his place in the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - a rest?...he plays 90 minutes a week MgM...im tiling an apartment in the freezing cold and no one wants me to have a rest..

03 Mar 2015 21:04:31
On a slightly different note Is it already too late to loan Bellerin out next season...is he already the finished article? I would be tempted to bring Jenks back next season to compete with Debuchy with Bellerin going out on loan. I think it would be a shame not to give Jenks a chance with us next season as the loan spell seems to be doing him a world of good. He is definitely going to be a better player next season because he is playing every game this season. The question is will Bellerin also benefit from being loaned out next season to a team where he will be first choice, rather than playing 2nd fiddle to Debuchy?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 21:10:55
Ah a bit of Home improvements Ed. I remember some guy gave me a tin of pink paint and asked me if I could use it on his porch. After I finished I told him he actually owned an Audi not a Porsche.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - not bad that epping..

03 Mar 2015 21:13:33
I feel your pain on Jenks Epping mate but what do we do the season after next if Belerin does as well out on loan as Jenks has done?
I don't want to lose eitger but fear Jenks is as good as an ex gooner :-(

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 21:20:15
Ed,

When tiling its important to get the routine correct.

One tile, grout, southern comfort.
One tile, grout, southern comfort.
One tile, grout, southern comfort.

OK? :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - far too much tiling that for me dags.. :)

03 Mar 2015 21:25:19
I know the feeling ed some weeks I don't get a day off, but our injury record is poor.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 21:25:43
I agree with Epping could be good for both of them. And I agree with ed I do 9hr days and I only get a fag break and they make me feel guilty for taking that, damn vegetarian Hitler!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - that made me smile eden..

03 Mar 2015 21:27:34
Lol Ed,

Love it :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 22:30:14
I want clyne. I no i'm greedy. But he's so good

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 22:33:42
Think loan out Bellerin next season to a mid-table or bottom half table premier league team. He is playing a lot for us, but he isn't playing week in week out like Jenks is for W Ham. Remember he is only in the side due to injuries, not saying he hasn't done very well and proven himself.

Then the season after, Debuchy might be knackered, or may have switched to CB if his pace has gone. Then we have two young and capable full backs to battle it out for a starting spot.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 22:59:46
Good points Detroit, scratch my post above I'm very happy to go with your plan

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 07:58:31
Debuchy will add massive depth, he can also be a winger in front of bellerin

Suprising fact o the day :

Gus Caesar made 44 appearances for Arsenal

Legend.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2015 19:26:01
Chris Whyte made 90 surprisingly, he looked like he might go on to make 500 when he first came into the team

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 19:40:46
Gus played 44 too many

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 19:50:17

Rue,

Get ya coat and shut the door on your way out, lol. You got to get passed g62 and ed025 before you even get to challenge the big boys! ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 16:28:37
Not bad rue, but ed025 is the joke judge so he will decide.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - not bad!...bloody awful..you need to up your game rue if you want to challenge the big 2 mate.. :)

03 Mar 2015 18:04:26
Haven't opted any for a while but can't have some whipper snapper thinking he can challenge so,

I was playing Football Manager on my PC when I was offered the Spurs job.  I knew it was a poor squad with no future, so I declined the offer.  I then put the phone down and got back to Football Manager.

Have you heard about the new Tottenham Bra?
It has a lot of support but no cups.

A guy pulls alongside a small boy on the pavement,
‘I’ll give you some sweets if you get in the car.’
‘No, leave me alone, ’ the boy replies.
‘Come on, I’ll take you for ice cream later as well, ’ he insists.
The boy suddenly stops and turns to the man and says,
Get lost Dad, I’m not going to White Hart Lane again no matter what you say.’

Just a reminder!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im afraid that reminds me that dags is still chelsea mate..

03 Mar 2015 18:53:49
Ed, by Chelsea do you mean he is arrogant and when he loses he sulks?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - of course 337..

03 Mar 2015 19:33:34
Jeez,

Like taking candy from a baby lol.

I bought a new sandwich maker last week.
Not happy, should have stuck with my old one.
As they say, better the Breville you know.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 12:29:38
On a lighter note, if someone told you/us, it would cost us 3 points at this very exact stage of the season to transfer mertsacker footballing brain to Gabriel would you take it :)?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2015 13:05:05
On a lighter note! Do you realise you might be starting world war 3.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 13:25:47
No! Not even for points

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 14:45:31
Bit harsh steve, you have to forget the german/war thing now mate therye not thinking of starting another one, and per is a nice chap!

03 Mar 2015 10:52:29
which other team will join arsenal, city and Chelsea in the top four?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2015 11:00:52
i know believe liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 12:28:19
I still think utd will.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 13:07:58
Not bothered as long as its not spurs, we should be concentrating on second!

Agree2 Disagree1

03 Mar 2015 15:42:34
I think it l be Chelsea, City, Arsenal and then Spurs

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 15:59:43
Like Derby, I think Liverpool have joined the party.

Chelsea, City, Arsenal and Pool.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 17:18:50
Dags derby are a league below mate

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 17:29:07
And what makes you think city and arsenal are confirmed? We are on a run Manchester United and soton could go on a run
even spurs ( on second thought what am I smoking?)
Apart from Chelsea no one is guaranteed atm

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 17:44:20
I think pool but really hope its saint's, hope its not utd, to see what they do then

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - lets hope its not liverpool eden...we will get all that "were back" crap..keep them in the shadows where they belong, no one wants to see them get back up there mate..

03 Mar 2015 17:46:23
maybe to optimistic here but i think

Chelsea, Arsenal, City, Utd

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - the top 2 are nailed on its chelsea and city GBH, then arsenal....then one of the horror bags..liverpool, united and spurs..

03 Mar 2015 18:45:24
So is it totally inconcivable we lose to QPR tomorrow night? If not its also not totally inconceivable utd and Liverpool could win which would leave us 4th level on points with Liverpool.
A bit premature to be talking about who will join us on the podium with 10 laps to go me thinks, this time last week people were talking about who we'd get in the Champions league QF!
I think we will but certainly don't think we have made top four by a very long way yet

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 19:51:26
Lol Derby.

And hello Reet.

03 Mar 2015 20:12:37

{Ed025's Note - i will make sure they dont eden, loyalty gets rewarded mate.. :)

03 Mar 2015 09:55:35
There seems to be a lot of in fighting on here, I'm responsible for my share of that and whilst it's all in good taste and with respect may I remind you why we are in here? To extract the urine out of Spurs, look how bad they are!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2015 16:00:17
Lol Saint,

Make you right mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 06:31:10
For all those who say it's not all about scoring, please tell me, how many assists does Giroud have? I am sick and tired of reading how he brings others into play with deft flicks and assists. Is he top compared to other strikers? Is he ahead of Costa, Kane and Aguero on assists? Cause if he's not scoring a bucket load, surely he must have a lot of assists to his name. Yes, I know he has had injuries, but then again, so have Aguero, Costa etc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2015 09:30:45
i actually don't know the answer. how many does he have?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is not listed in the Prem's top 5 for assists. That is Fabregas with 15 and then Di Maria, Baines, Downing and Sigurdsson on 8. That is Prem only though.}

03 Mar 2015 09:37:32
I don't think its all about assists.

If he holds off his marker, passes to Sanchez, who passes to Rosicky to score, Sanchez gets the assist, but Giroud played a major part in the goal too.

Agree3 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 09:49:15
Vardy top with 8
Aguero 7
Welbeck 6
Giroud is some way down the list with only 3
That's just strikers

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 12:03:12
Fun fact:

Giroud has 9 goals in last 13 games (7 in league and 2 in FA cup). that's 30% of our goals in our last 13 games. that's a pretty decent return.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 13:09:52
He's been injured for most of the season fgs, give him a break - he's no aguero or suarez but he's the best we've got so we should get behind him

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 06:26:30
We are the Arsenal! We love to see people run. We don't care about goals or assists, all we care about is running. You can miss sitter after sitter but all will be forgiven if you foam around the mouth with aimless running.

The second most important thing is emotion. We want our players to show emotion. Even if you score a hat trick while wearing a stone face, we will not be impressed.

Run several meaningless miles on the pitch, miss chance after chance. as long as you show disappointment when you miss, then you will be a legend for us

Some of the stuff I read here is shocking tbh. Not said as such, but definitely implied

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - good post that rue..

03 Mar 2015 07:27:56
Dont forget the hair Rue, we also love a nice Barnet mate, very important when considering a player I feel

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 14:18:21
Yeah but also butt ugly, i agree that the high profile clubs should only sign good looking players - i'm also campaigning that we sign the chelsea physio or kelly brook as kit girl

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 17:19:53
No sure why I'm a free agent then

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - because when you fell out the ugly tree...you hit every branch on the way down derby.. :)

03 Mar 2015 18:06:10
Ooh ed, that's a bit to the point! Most not every branch

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 05:43:50
V QPR...
Would you rotate players & if so which ones?
My choices:
Chambers for Bellerin
Monreal for Gibbs
Ramsey for Coquelin
Welbeck for Alexis
Walcott for Santi

We need fresh legs for Man U on Monday and the ganes are mounting up. It's better to rest players, rather than suffer more injuries.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2015 12:06:03
Opsina
Chambers - Mert - Kos - Monreal
Ramsey - Coq
Walcott - Ozil - Ox
Welbeck

Id rest Gabriel and play him vs Man U. Alexis looks burnt out and Caz needs a rest. Welbeck better option than Giroud for this game,

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 16:08:15
DG, Gabriel has to play from now on. He had a good game against Everton, but he needs to get as many minutes under his belt as possible to bring him up to speed with the EPL

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 22:43:21
Rue,

Mert is still a better option imo. May not be the case next season, but for now i think he's more experienced and a better player. What better experience can you give o Gabriel than an FA cup tie at OT?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 00:12:47
According to newspapers in spain real sold di maria because he was butt ugly and didn't fit the galaticos image. I would think ozil doesn't mind being behind him on that stat, mind you he's closer on that one than assists.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2015 10:17:08
Yea that's why they signed another butt ugly player in Bale, who resembles a chimp

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 13:07:42
Are you sticking up for di maria hood.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 14:19:51
Di Maria looks like an Ant, so i don't like him as i don't like ants - call me shallow i've been called a lot worse (mainly by dags and g69)

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 16:09:29
Haha good one gents. That is some tripe made up by Barca. If that were the case, Pepe would never have been signed

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 16:57:40
Lol Di Maria looks like he is on drugs to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 00:49:26
Hood,

I agree, Di Maria definatly been poppin' them pills.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 00:12:05
Positive post.

I know we won't, but if we put 6 past QPR, we will be top scorers in Prem.

We are above Utd, despite playing 11 games more than them this season.

Despite Chelsea dominating the Prem this season, we are only 3 wins and 5 goals worse than them.

In top 5 leagues in world football (England, Spain, Germany, France, Italy), there are only 6 teams who have gained more points than us in 2015.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2015 06:52:39
Uh.. I think all of those leagues have extensive winter breaks thus taking out 2-3 weeks from January. :-p

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 07:32:12
Not being funny Dags but we should be ahead of utd, 11 games more that's potentially 33pts

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 08:47:44
Are you serious G62? Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 14:20:50
I fail to see how us playing eleven games more in cups effects the prem stats? maybe i'm thick?

337,

Tiredness, fatigue, injuries, travelling? :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 15:59:38

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 20:57:51
