Any oldies like me will remember Trevor Francis becoming the first English £1 million player but who will become the world's first £100 million player?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Jul 2015 03:46:31
Djourou

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 06:41:24
I remember the Trevor Francis deal. I don't think the £100m deal will be long in coming, perhaps as soon as next summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 07:26:23
Do you remember Stan Cummings Robbie :-) he was tipped to be the first £1 million man

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 09:56:09
Was bale a 100mil

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 09:57:35
the countrys best ever finisher was to be the first 1 million pound player but he didn't want to be JIMMY GREAVES

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 10:08:40
If Messi ever leaves Barcelona, it would surely surpass the £100m mark no?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 10:27:23
Tom cleverly will.. :/

Gunner 62 - Yes I do! I should probably be called Gunner61, which gives away my age! Cummins was a short player at Middlesboro?
Remenber Supermac at £333,333!
I can't believe the transfer fees and wages of modern day players. My neighbour plays for Orient and is on £20,000 a week!

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 21:59:30
I know its only a pipe dream rumour but just imagine the effect signing Bale would have apart from the obvious one on our next door shadow puppet neighbour's.
What would his arrival do for Aaron playing together for club and country and inturn what knocknon effect would Aaron going up another gear have on Jack plus Mesut feeding Bale and Sanchez? The mouth truly does water, even if its only a silly rumour its nice to let your mind indulge it for a moment of two.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Jul 2015 22:52:58
Mate that's dream land but I am letting that thought caress my mind for a minute or two

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 23:31:05
Bale would be immense in an Arsenal shirt.

He's top quality and has a great work ethic, total game changer.

But, where would we put him?

Nice dream while it lasted.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 00:30:28
bale and sanchez on the wings with austin through the middle obviously dags

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 06:44:26
Bale is a strong possibility and so is Pedro. This depends on where Pogba ends up. Barca, then it's Pedro, Real, then it's Bale.
I have heard it's more likely to be Bale...... Which would be awesome.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 07:06:01
Eden,

That's my dream team :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 10:32:38
Bales shown he's better in a free roaming number 10 position. Not been at best since being at madrid on wing. So we'd have him and ozil for same spot.. No way could we chuck ozil out wide, he's 90% less effective, an empty shirt there! I think if rumours are true and rafa wants to use ronaldo up top, bale will go behind him in that roaming 10 spot. That will be interesting to see! Madrid would be potent!

{Ed's Note - We have posted a new article entitled, Moon views - Episode 3. The Goalkeeper Review.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Jul 2015 23:33:27
Hugo Lloris is definitely the stand out keeper from that bunch.

Top quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 21:35:40
Thanks ED001 please keep putting these up even the none Arsenal related ones because there always interesting to read imo, I know someone who doesn't post anymore made a fuss but he's in a minority of 1 who had any problem at all with them being available.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - it only posts them on here if Arsenal are mentioned anyway, so there should be something related to Arsenal.}

09 Jul 2015 07:41:25
Personally I think it's good to read about the wider game too sometimes Ed and also see things from a different angle, its good for the mind and I need all the help I can get there :-(

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I always thinks it helps too, sometimes it allows us to get a better context for our own team's issues.}

on a day when the spurs make a class signing in alderwerld we hear the news we are to have the biggest stadium in london. like yazz once sang THE ONLY WAY IS UP BABY

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Jul 2015 21:16:48
Well you have probably forgot about Wembley as spurs don't go there that often

Just saying

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 21:26:53
Totally agree mate you can't sink much lower so it stands to reason Yazz can't fail to be right, ejoy the shadow theatre should it ever get built. Biggest shabbles in London? I don't think anyone would argue there ravey

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 21:28:54
Raver, before you get to cocky let's see how Mr levy doe's balancing the books.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 21:34:32
You may, potentially, have the biggest stadium in London, but our class will always cast a shadow over you.

You can't buy class mate, even with your 'Bale' money.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 21:52:56
Guys it won't be the biggest stadium in London. Can't believe you missed that opportunity

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jul 2015 22:29:28
Come on guys, give the little fella his moment. Just imagine the glorious spectacle of the stadium a quarter full on a Thursday night, taking on the best Romania has to offer. Simply magnificent.

I hope he rots

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 20:35:17
Well he is defo rotting. And let's be straight about it in his whole career so far he has had 2 good seasons

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 23:26:47
2 good seasons.
One was spent at Arsenal.
The other he won the title 😏

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 00:17:29
That's exactly it Mr badger. Still 2 seasons by my counting

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 17:19:02
Hi Ed any idea who this signing of the season arsenal are close to

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I don't understand the question.}

08 Jul 2015 18:39:23
According to Metro apparently, Arsenal are close to completing the ‘signing of the season’, according to leading football agent Muzzi Ozcan...

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 18:45:18
I read it on Arsenal rumours now

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 19:03:39
If that's what the metro are saying then it can only mean that Charlie Austen will be signing any day now, happy Dags and mourinho :-(

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 19:22:42
Woohoo 😉

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 01:12:07
I can only think of a striker or Vidal or gotze lol wishful thinking I surpose but that muzzi guy did say rvp off to Turkey its came true from what sky are saying

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 03:51:27
The name "Metro" says it all, mate

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 18:39:04
Ed002, I think the poster is referring to a post made on twitter by a supposed Football agent, who has a large following, who is claiming that Arsenal are closing in on 'the signing of the season', a transfer of a player with a world class reputation, and it will be revealed in a few days. This has caused quite a frenzy because the supposed agent has tens of thousands of followers.

Personally I think it's attention seeking nonsense and take the whole thing with a handful of salt.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 16:39:05
ED's now I'm sure you've been asked this question before but a team has a reported interest in a player e.g when arsenal signed ozil, how do these reporters know that we were interested in signing him? I know that sounds like a daft question but it's always stuck in my head. Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Some are close to people at different clubs, some agents can be lubricated to discuss such things, some clubs are open to sharing information - particularly in mainland Europe.}

08 Jul 2015 19:59:40
Thanks ED002, I thought that might of been the case

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 17:06:27
Hola amigos

I have been told we are very close tp putting a deal together for Gareth Bale

Believable1 Unbelievable1

08 Jul 2015 18:05:02
Funny thing is iv actually heard this myself

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 19:15:00
I would love it to be true. But I can't see us paying that much for a player. Then he's on twice as much as our highest earners that blows the wage structure to bits

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 20:20:38
IF and that's an ever so large IF it happened I think the bookie's would be swiftly cutting our odds and increasing others for the title.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 20:34:22
that would be a massive come down for him its like going out with kelly brook and ending up with katie hopkins

Agree1 Disagree2

08 Jul 2015 22:25:43
By that logic, Gareth managed to upgrade to Kelly Brook from Susan Boyle, raver.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 00:20:23
A bit of a dive I know raver especially when he thought he was rid of Katie Hopkins . But she now lives in a more successful part of London so he probably likes her pad. And the ex ex is moving into a council house that has to accommodate yanks every few months so I see your point

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 13:17:04
Arsenal invest in a stately manor and pay off well before time!

Spurs are moving into council funded accommodation with one bedroom flats and rats for the fans lovely . Even going to get some nfl games there aswell two games a year. So at least it will be full a couple of times a year.

I wonder if Spurs will get free school dinners aswell

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - Do you really think they're putting an NFL pitch in for 2 games a year? I think there might be something in the pipeline about an NFL franchise in London and Spurs could end up making a packet out of it.}

08 Jul 2015 13:34:47
That will certainly be their hopes I guess but my point is there will have to be some other interest or they won't fill it with their brand of football.

As for nfl taking off over hear I doubt it . The game is naff like all predominantly American sports. But it could be a money spinner for them. They certainly couldn't afford it of their own backs.

Look at City they had their stadium bought for them and they now extend it to 55k they couldn't fill it before and they have low ticket prices aswell. It always makes me laugh when you hear city fans call United fans tourists. Old traff is always rammed and buzzing at 75 k

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 20:37:56
we will fill the new stadium we have always had a massive following

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jul 2015 21:22:28
It's easy to fill a chicken shed. We will see probably have to give a few seats away.

Here's the real testament we charge more than anyone and our lowest attendance ever is still more than Your current capacity. Look it can only get better for you

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 15:26:47
Your ignorance on the English NFL fanbase is amusing Browgun. You'd be surprised to hear how popular the sport is in England as well as Europe. Perhaps check out Sly's viewing figures mate. Just because you don't enjoy a sport does not make it naff. Personally I can't stand cricket but I am aware it is quite popular. Different strokes pal.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 16:20:48
It's naff full stop

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 12:06:10
A team like madrid is made up of world-class players but they couldn't lift a trophy last season because they lacked unity and team work, played individually and that cost them heavily. Arsenal have good players and a good side. They show what they can do but it's just that they weren't consistent in terms of playing together with one strength and in unity. It was fluctuating for me. If they had played all games equally with a strong performance, we could have won the league and that's what chelsea did. Arsenal must eye 3points in every game either small or big but mind you, in Epl, there's no small game. Every game is a big game. Every player at Arsenal is equally good and has full potential of reaching high. They only have to understand themselves more.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

08 Jul 2015 10:24:08
Ed002. Read on the Liverpool page that the situation with Lacazette has changed and Lyon have spoken to 3 clubs in regards to selling the player. Arsenal one of the 3?

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No.}

08 Jul 2015 11:19:47
Thanks. Any chance of you letting me know who the 3 clubs are?
No worries if you don't want to.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - PSG, Chelsea and Roma.}

08 Jul 2015 09:38:57
Walcott offers something different to Giroud's style of play so signing a winger wouldn't be bad. Walcott has the pace and power to succeed through the middle. He only has to work more on his strikes, however he's perfect runs and can easily break offside traps. There's so much potential in our current squad. Adding schneiderlin would complete the puzzle as he can share the defensive responsibilities with Coquelin. We have the squad i believe. All we need is have equal desire and hunger, unity and a fearless approach to all games. I believe we can beat every team if we play together with confidence because every player in our squad is special.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

08 Jul 2015 09:27:26
For Every Arsenal game this season, we must approach with just one thing. A win!! no room for draws.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

08 Jul 2015 08:20:11
I see the metro has surpassed its self yet again with its Di Maria story, I want a job working for them I've always fancied being a fabricator for a living.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Jul 2015 09:00:53
It's someone different every day with them G62. But if there was a shred of truth in it would you be happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 09:23:53
I know Brow mate, don't get me wrong I'm open to most things and the Metro story about man city buying Mars and opening an intergalactic training base I thought ' well maybe! But Di Maria to Arsenal from utd? I'm not having that:-)

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 14:31:25
Are we sure it's not Malaga who works for them? That's the kind of story he would come up with haha. I can't believe they get paid for that though, that story will date back to when we first tried to sign him so now that he's at United wenger must be desperate to sign him! Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 00:29:14
All players must show hunger in order to win a major trophy even if we sign world's bests. Sanchez is one to emulate

Believable2 Unbelievable0

08 Jul 2015 08:48:24
Agree mate, he's got to be close to our best ever signing not just because of his ability on the pitch but his effect on team mates.
Our work rate as a team has at least since his arrival.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 09:11:00
Best signing - not so sure so soon - let's see how many trophies he wins us compared to say - just picking randomly … Bergkamp maybe?

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 10:24:04
Bergkamp is my favourite ever Arsenal player Rooster the man was the ultimate class on grass player for me.
For me no Sanchez last season no CL football for us or at very best 4th place trophy by a very small margin at best, his own performances were excellent but its the effect on others that made all the difference.
Pre Sanchez we had an awful lot of walkers one the ball was lost and very few prepared to bust a gut to win it back and it was that way for a few years before Sanchez raised the bar by example and that's why he's been such an incredible signing.

Agree3 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 10:53:54
I disagree a bit, I think our guys tried hard but might have lacked a bit of belief. Sanchez definitely provided that and it has been contagious. So happy to have him.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 01:16:58
Bergkamp made the arsenal team what it was with out him Henry would never of scored that many goals bergkamp had 1 of the best Footy brains ever and his first touch was awesome by far my favourite arsenal player and he retired with the club

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 00:04:55
Schneiderlin would be a great buy. He's got premier league experience. Should we sign Pedro, Walcott would at least be given the chance to play upfront. The pace in attack will destroy teams if they understand each other's play

Believable1 Unbelievable0

08 Jul 2015 08:50:34
Agree again on both, Spyder obviously wants to come and for Theo its down the middle or burst if he's ever going to be a world star
