{Ed022's note - brand new player profile for you Arsenal fans on Marvin Martin. Great little french player available for around 10 million this summer from Sochaux - could be a good option for you AFC fans? www.player-profiles.co.uk - cheers all!}

Believable15 Unbelievable28

He's likely going to Lille.
ibster

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, what chance we might bid? {Ed002's Note - Dortmund, Lille, Lorient, Valencia, Fenerbahce, Arsenal and Anderlecht have enquired after Marvin Martin, but it seems very likely that the Socheaux player will move to Lille.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Although talks are continuing between Lille and Sochaux apparently both presidents have very different valuations for the player

Agree0 Disagree0

Rosicky is better than martin. Rosicky isnt good enough to play CAM for arsenal anymore. Says enough.

Do you think RVP horrid euro form will make him consider staying slightly more?

It shows how adapted he is to our formation and our style of play an maybe a wake up call that he may not be able to slip into another system just as easily?

Just a thought

@dannyt1991

Believable46 Unbelievable12

Its just he is more of the star man with us, with Holland he is an imprtant player, obviously, but with the likes of Sneijder and Robben, he is more secluded, and therefore less prominent in their side.

kev88

Agree0 Disagree0

This will have. NO influence. He's as good as gone

Paul - Rochester

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with kev. Like Henry before him, everything goes through RVP. When they go else where it turns out to not be so easy

Chimney sweep Josh

Agree0 Disagree0

Robben and Sneijder are incredibly selfish and, IMO, overrated players. They try to do everything themselves and never try to assist even when it's the easier option. Robben especially. Dutch team is a group of big egos up front. It's why they're s**t.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair, when RVP tried to do it all on his own he scored a wondergoal. Maybe they'll have a change in tactic after today. Doubt it though lol

Arsenal looking at CB Guillermo Burdisso brother of Nicolas Burdisso of Roma the fee is thought to be around £2million

Believable18 Unbelievable22

How old?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2012 20:09:01
i think one of the best things about this squad is the versatility. players like coquelin can do a job lb/rb, podolski, lw or st. rvp anywhere across the front, or behind the st. ox both wings, vermaelen lb. but to the people saying we might have too many people in one position etc. the injuries we have mean we will rarely have a really difficult choice to make.
Green Lanes Gooner

Believable20 Unbelievable4

Defence still looks a problem to me, at left and right back more than anything. Sagna is class but has been injured a fair bit recently. I'm not the biggest fan of Gibbs or Santos. It's not going to happen but I'd love us to get Baines. I think if Vermaelen is fit we should always have him on the centre of defence. Versatile or not, he's our best CB. If rather have Couqulin at LB and Vermaelen at CB than Mertesacker and Koscielny in the centre and Vermaelen at LB.

Chimney sweep Josh

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a question ed's..why's this in the rumours section?

AWRAWA {Ed027's Note - everybody makes mistakes :)

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2012 20:05:54
Simon Kjaer looked good again today! 2nd world class team he's played against 1st against Holland and Portugal today and he's showed he can cope with the best would be a good signing to bulk up our defense

Believable20 Unbelievable14

Bendtner has looked pretty good, so has Arshavin. If they'd never played in England I'm sure you'd be keen on them, too. Kjaer isn't the most consistent player in the world and is very prone to making mistakes. He's no better than Koscielny.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but im not saying he should start for us only as a 3rd or 4th choice just in case Konscielny or vermaelen get injured because our defense isnt the best with depth and i would rather play him than Djourou so we would have

Konscielny
Vermaelen
Mertesacker
Kjaer
so we could also rotate

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks good? What he let Postiga wonder past him to score. Not that impressive

Agree0 Disagree0

And no ive never liked Bendtner even when Arsenal were about to sign him i allways knew he was going to be a flop

Agree0 Disagree0

He was crap

Agree0 Disagree0

'And no ive never liked Bendtner even when Arsenal were about to sign him i allways knew he was going to be a flop'

you were aware of him as a 16 year old kid joining the arsenal youth team, must bow to your knowledge

Agree0 Disagree0

You knew Bendtner was going to be a flop when he signed when he was 17 in 2004? Don't talk such rubbish. If you thought that of a 17 year old then you're as closed minded as allH the people that turned Ian Wright down when he was in his late teens. Face it, Kjaer is no good, and he would never sign for us to be a 4th choice centre back. It's not going to happen and anyone with any sense doesn't want it to.

Chimney sweep Josh

Agree0 Disagree0

So if Djourou and Squillaci go do you reckon a world class CB is just going to come to us or do you reckon any other CB wants to become our 4th choice or even our third choice people need to get their heads out of their arses and realise we are not going to sign another amazing defender and it will be someone like Kjaer we are not going to sign Chiellini , Sakho or any other CB of that calibre to become our third choice END OF and as soon as everyone realises that the better

Agree0 Disagree0

And what i meant to say was when i first say him play for Arsenal!! he doesnt like to do much work , LOves himself and reckons that he is the best in the world and bigger than the club itself

Agree0 Disagree0

No I reckon we could get a player better than Kjaer for a lot less money with lower wages. He's no better than Djourou. He's not automatically great because you signed him on football manager. Also, Bendtner never said he was the best in the world, just that one day he wants to be, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't consider himself bigger than Arsenal football club. You're making yourself look a bit foolish spewing this rubbish. But carry on, Kjaer is wonderful and we really should sign him because he's worth the 12,000,000 he'd cost even though he's no better than 4 players in the same position we already have.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Everything I do I always feel very confident. Whether it's tennis, badminton, football, whatever. I just go out there and think I can do it and most of the time I can. What I'm good at I don't mind saying because it's not a secret, is it? For me confidence is so important. It's good to know I can go out on the field and feel I can take on the world."
One of the things he has said in an Interview so shut up about he doesnt think he is the best my best part is
"What I'm good at I don't mind saying because it's not a secret, is it? "

"We have never seen that before. Pat Rice was sitting next to me and couldn't stop laughing. When Bendtner misses a chance, he is always genuinely convinced that it wasn't his fault."
Another not said by him but by a staff member of Arsenal

I had three aims this year - to get into the Arsenal team, qualify for the World Cup and to be Player of the Year. I have achieved them all.

. I want to be top scorer in the Premier League, top scorer at the World Cup and, within five years, I want to be among the best strikers in the world. Trust me, it will happen. I look around at other players, I see my own ability and I cant see anything that tells me it wont happen, Im sure people will think 'What is he talking about? But as I have done before, and as I will do again, I will sit at the other end and laugh at those people when it is all done

THIS IS THE BEST THOUGH
'I should start every game, I should be playing every minute of every match and always be in the team.'
And DJourou was going for 10m all together

Agree0 Disagree0

BTW i dont play Football Manager i think its a waste of time because the players are allways different to what they are like in real life

Agree0 Disagree0

Chimney sweep Josh

Bendtner has always said he is the biggest player at Arsenal however i think it was lost in translation, all he was saying is i play with a bunch of midgits ha.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not every quote you read on the Internet is true. Sometimes a player is doing an interview in his native tongue and the interview is translated and this is very dangerous. You believe what you want to, but these comments can very often get taken out of context and be mistranslated. Fact remains though, Kjaer is rubbish and he'll never play for arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Simon Kjaer is a good player, not great or fantastic, but good, I am a Danish Gooner and I would have prefered Arsenal to look at Fc Nordsjaelland from Denmark, they won the Danish league and are going to play in the Champions leagues group stage next year, they have a young super defender 19 years Jores Okore, he is fast, strong and are always looking like he is on top of every situation, he is for sure one to watch

Jerome Boateng is about as good as Djourou...how does he start for Germany over the BFG?

Believable14 Unbelievable23

Because Mertesacker wouldn't be a very good right back...

Chimney sweep Josh

Agree0 Disagree0

I know he's at RB but I am sure the other day he was a CB.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's played RB in the first two games of euro 2012

Chimney sweep Josh

Agree0 Disagree0

AH ok I know he is today but I thought the other day he was CB...

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah, he is pretty naff though. He only plays CB for Bayern because their defence is so shocking. I think Mertesacker will find chances for Germany limited now as the have two young centre backs who are better than him now, who have started the first two games of the euros.

Chimney sweep Josh

Agree0 Disagree0

Boateng is MUCH better than both Mertesacker and Djourou who are both p1sh!

G95

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably because he plays right back..

Boateng is not better Mertresacker in CB, that is blasphemy.

If RVP signs for PSG Or juventus he will be making a backward step because the players we are signing will give us abetter chance in the champions league than either of those teams. If he stays what a front 3 best in prem league.

Believable27 Unbelievable4

Sadly I can still see him leaving. I hope to God I'm wrong, but I think he just wants a move. Hopefully his family life will be more important because his family love London. One thing is for absolute certain, he won't move to another English team. He's not that kind of guy. Hopefully his poor performance at euro 2012 will put potential suitors off..

ok we all know that Silvio Bunga bunga berlusconi is deciding about Thiago silva..my take is he is going to sell for 40+ mill.

I have heard offers have been made for robinho, pato, and julio ceasar.

Im not sure if arsenal are in for any, but i would hope we are after their keeper.

Lakerville.

My source is one of the editors of Corriere della Sera, if anyone has heard of that.

Believable3 Unbelievable31

Julio cesar plays for inter Milan, I say that because you included him in a list of AC Milan players in a post headed with a story about a AC Milan player, of course you may just be saying players you've heard have offers for in general, in which case sorry!

But,

A: if you put that meaning you want cesar from AC Milan either your "source" is a idiot, and of course if your making it up then you need to research rubbish before you post it!

B: if you just meant general players, (in which case sorry for the slating!) Julio cesar is...30? 31? And really needs to be a first team player, considering not two years ago he was considered one of the top three keepers in the world alongside Buffon and casillas, and the fact he's a very food goalie still, and of course our very own Wojech Szczesny is a first team goalie for, what....90% of clubs in the world, and that's not arsenal biased, he's still making the odd mistake, but to be that good at that age, he could be our casillas, so unless a clubs puts in a mega offer, I expect Shezza to be here next season, and those two keepers, Szczesny and Julio cesar won't play second fiddle to one another.

Jus' sayin

D

Agree0 Disagree0

No team in the world will spend 40+million on a defender, not even Man City.

Agree0 Disagree0

My mistake in specifying AC milan, i was told milan, so i guess that makes sense with julio ceasar.

i am aware he was not too long ago to be one of the best in the world. not saying we are going in for him just inquiring if there is an interest and someone heard of it, as we need a GK.

The thiago silva thing for 40 mill is all over the net, its not rocket science and im not interested in making stuff up, besides hes not heading to arsenal.

from what i gathered in that chat was the "milan" teams are going to be selling some big players.

Does this have to do with any sort of financial crisis? i just watched the news and greece is planning on option out of the euro and apparently italy and spain are in bad shape.

And if memory serves me right wenger had predicted this stuff awhile back.

and in the moment where teams are selling to balance books or stay of administation we seem to be doing well.

Lakerville

Agree0 Disagree0

It's reported on the French newspaper l'equipe that T. Silva is being sold to PSG and Berlesconi is quoted as saying I have to sell its 46 millions euros after all

I am glad Giroud is signing, i believe Rvp will stay cause he knew the players coming in.we will have the best attack in prem. There is going to be 3 more signings, i believe we will sign Lucas biglia for 8m, An attacking midfielder, Afellay for 7m, and the young keeper Butland for 4m. If Rvp does go we will sign Fernando Llorente. We will not be signing a defender 3 signings attackers, 1 holding mid, and a keeper.

Believable22 Unbelievable20

You think you will best attacking team in the prem. wrong look who chelsea are signing hazard hulk mata torres lampard ramiers. keep dreaming you are going to be the best attacking like you dream about trophies

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly Mata, Lampard and Rameires are Midfilders and this point was about striker combinations. Also Hulk has not signed yet either. Chelsea are losing their main tailisman in Drogba and Torress has not exactly set the world alight has he. RVP, Giroud and Podolski are proven and consistant 1 goal in 2 games on average strikers so looks pretty good to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the spud dud troll or whoever rival squad you support that believes Chelsea will have the best midfield. You've mentioned midfield players mixed in with attackers... errr i do believe the original post was about the attacking prospects of RVP, Giroud and Podolski...... so settle on. Also Hulk hasnt signed any deal with Cheslea, and they'll need all the luck in trying to maintain Hazards ego. I honestly hope he flops just like Torres did.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the deluded, confused chelsea fan who say's we "dream of trophies". Few facts for you buddy;Prem(1st div)titles ARSENAL 13 chelsea 4,F.A.cup ARSENAL 10 chelsea 7,League Cup ARSENAL 2 chelsea 4(well done there)Charity Shield ARSENAL 11 chelsea 4,Euro cups ARSENAL 2 chelsea 2,Champions league ARSENAL 0 chelsea 1,(lucky aint the word, but well done nonetheless) not so Super Cups ARSENAL 0 chelsea 1(who cares)? F.A.youth cup ARSENAL 7 chelsea 4. ARSENAL 45 chelsea 26. And we did it without a billionaire gangster sugar daddy, get it right,IT IS YOU WHO DREAMS OF TROPHIES.I fear there is a village somewhere missing an idiot!

What do you all think about signing sneijder he wants to leave inter & I'm sure he would welcome the opportunity to play for us & with van persie & yes I know those 2 have had their problems but their link up play against Denmark was second to none & he would become part of the invincibles mk2.. Giroud, podolski, m'vila, sneijder & a defender & we will conquer the world...
Gooner N1

Believable28 Unbelievable28

Van Persie and Sneijder do not get on in the slightest. It's not ever going to happen. Even if we were willing to pay his wages, which we're not, and even if we'd pay the massive transfer fee, which we're not, we'd still not sign him as him and RVP just don't get on, and aside from pissing off RVP, it'd upset the whole squad, as players in the same team who dislike each other doesn't work, as Holland found out on Saturday.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't afford Sneijder's wages.

We're not going to sign Affelay. Simple. Podolski will more than likely play where Affelay would. We've also got Walcott and Ox that can play the wings, and other players that can cover there. I think it's more likely we'll sign a strong midfielder, as Arteta is no spring chicken, and Ramsey isn't quite the player we expected, though still young. Possibly also a right back to cover Sagna, though I think Wenger likes Jenkinson so possibly not.

What does Ed think about my Affelay pessimism. I think we're more likely to sign Fabregas back, and we know how likely that is. {Ed002's Note - Afellay has been out injured pretty much all of this season and I think future chances at Barcelona may be limited but the kid is keen to stay and Barcelona seem keen to have him as a squad player. However, I think it is still possible that he will be available in the summer and that Barcelona would listen to offers. Italy looks like one option available to him if he is sold and there may be interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle.}

Believable17 Unbelievable3

I doubt it. He would never go to Newcastle, unlikely Tottenham, possibly Liverpool merely because it's Liverpool, and Arsenal don't have the room for him unless they sell. They've got replacements already for Arshavin (Podolski) and Chamakh/Bendtner (Giroud).

Agree0 Disagree0

With respect I dont see how any player we are linked with at the moment would excite RSVP into staying. Ok podolski is ok. Far from proven in league football. Yes he scored a lot of goals last season but so did Yakubu at Blackburn. As for Giroud. What happened the last time we got the French leagues top striker. Oh yeah we got chamakh. Theses French league players can be extremely over rated. You don't get those gems very often hence there has been no "new Vieira". Look at diaby, another who has failed. Llorente won't leave Spain.
Rvp wants to win things it's simple. And I hate to say it but it's not likely to happen at arsenal.

Ed, two questions for you. What percentage would you put on m'villa coming, and which media outlet do you rate when it comes to transfer rumours? As we all know not to take tw#tter seriously. Cheers geez. UP THE GOONERS Flybo. {Ed002's Note - I don't want to get in to percentages but Inter Milan, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Juventus have all shown a determined interest in M'Vila and perhaps PSG and Barcelona will become interested as well. However, he remains there for the taking of Arsenal should they make an offer that is acceptable to Rennes. I think there is a good chance of completing a deal.

The only media outlet worth trusting at all is of course Associated Press. However, somewhere there is a ranking of media sources and transfers in teh form of a league table - you should be able to track it down.}
