I hope this is true, and it does make sense, RVP has not been replaced yet, and I can't see Wenger spending that kind of money on a Central defender or defensive midfielder.

Despite being a Red member I bought my tickets on General Sale as I could then get a ticket for a mate who is not a member. Tried to get some of the seats that were priced �36 to �40 and was told they were all sold out so had to buy 2 at �55 each plus booking fee and postage so spent �116 in all. When I looked into the areas where the cheaper seats were located there were vast swathes of empty seats going begging. Surely not all these people were on holiday or fearful of blizzards descending. I think the website is designed to fool you into buying the more expensive seats first!

The fact wenger hasn't gone in for M'Vila tells me a DMF will not be brought in. Diaby/Coquelin will deputise for Arteta whilst he's out. However, I feel we need a top class DMF and not a makeshift playmaker ie Arteta/Diaby. Typically, Wenger thinks differently.

A Striker will also not be purchased. Walcott will sign and that will leave us with Walcott, Giroud, Podolski and Gervinho. It is a natural left winger we should be looking at (Podolski isn't that)

Rumours going around that Llorrente might be moving to Juve for 3.3 million pounds. If the price is so low, why don't we bid on him? It seems like other clubs signal their intent on a player, and go after him. Why doesn't Arsene adopt this policy? {Ed002's Note - It really doesn't work like that - the talks have been going on for months.}

Ads 995 {Ed002's Note - Someone mentioned Gourcuff earlier. I don't know of his fitness and the only vague interest I know of is from Spartak. A move to Los Angeles in January strikes me as far more likely but MIlan and Paris could be possible destinations. It would be expensive to bring him to England. Newcastle, Sunderland and Lille have enquired about Aliadiere's availablility to be told he is not for sale by Lorient until the summer.}

Ed is there any truth in the rumours that Arsenal have spoken to Juventus and made a £25m bid for Arturo Vidal? Juventus are apparently looking for replacements at the moment. Move may be delayed to the summer?

mhc {Ed002's Note - Vidal moved to Juventus after spurning good offers from Bayern Munich and Barcelona. If he were to come up for sale, I would suspect both clubs would still be interested.}

Hi eds, you know of any interest from Arsenal in Josip Ilicic. I understand the club had interest in the player a couple of years ago, an he is a good player. Also the Capoue rumours blushed up again this morning.

Any news on these two players? {Ed002's Note - Both Milan clubs, Napoli and Juventus have an interest in Ilicic with Napoli and Inter likely favourites if he does come up for sale - which I doubt in January. England seems an unlikely destination although Spurs, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa have looked at the player in the fairly recent past.

Etienne Capoue has attracted confirmed interest from Everton, Schalke, Anzhi, Inter and Benfica in addition to the longer term interest of Spurs and Arsenal. Chelsea, Zenit and West Ham had representatives at the Toulouse vs Sochaux around Christmas but there is no real confirmation of whether interest was in Capoue, or anyone else for that matter. Toulouse are not keen to sell right now but I suspect would play clubs off against Anzhi forcing the price up if he is to move in January.}

Has there ever been anything said about Oscar Cardozo?
Im not sure of how long his contract is at Benfica but from what ive seen he is a good player and does score a good amount of goals.
Was just wondering if there has been any intest from arsenal in the past and possible future interest.

Wajid {Ed002's Note - Wajid, we cannot reasonably say who is likely to join. I can tell you where I know of interest and where there has not been any interest if I know. A bit off the top of my head but Arsenal have an interest in a striker still and have certainly looked at Adrian Lopez, Lewandowski, Negredo, Shakhtar Donetsk's Adriano (as a cheaper option to Damiao). There has also been interest shown in Udinese's right back Dusan Basta. In midfield I think the club made a mistake not pushing ahead with the purchase of Wanyama in the summer but Benat and the more flexible Mbiwa have been looked at recently. There has also been a little interest in the likes of Markovic, Lars Bender, Konoplyanka and Hatem Ben Arfa but I cannot see anything coming to fruition there and it is likely more wishful thinking than anything serious. It is hard to see what interest remains in the likes of Llorente, Dragovic and Wanyama who were all previously of interest. I understand that there was interest in Holtby but Spurs made their move and in Huntelaar. A very slim chance of Zaha if a deal for Walcott cannot be achieved.}

I can't see Arsene Wenger signing anyone this transfer window. It's all well and good saying the club wants to sign players but if nothing is actually done about it, then what message does that actually send out to the rest of the squad?

I can actually see the transfer window shutting and no new signings coming in and the excuse will be "we tried, but no one was available" and this summer the club will lose another key player because to put it plainly, the club lack ambition.

With the signing of walcott being used to soften the blow

I like most Gooners would be disappointed if we did not strengthen our team during this transfer period but if there is no one available who will strengthen us then why buy worse players?
Remember we still have the self proclaime genius that is bendtner and squillaci and a few other pieces of dross; so should we add more dross for you to complain about during the next transfer window or should we bide our time.

It's beginning to look this way. One can only hope that Wenger and the board have the wherewithal to dig us out of the mess we are in. Top four looks highly unlikely without an injection of steel at the back/cdm and someone to score goals.

Personally I don't understand how we're letting deals like m'vila and remy get out of our grasp, players we have looked at for years and could have easily got this window

Wenger chased m'vila for 2 years but felt rennes asking price of 15million+ was too much now he is available for £7.9million why are we not straight in for him, the club needs to spend ans the city game proved it, i won't be happy if we don't sign atleast 2 players this window.

The beady eye has been cast over Mvila by a lot of clubs.It seems everybody knows about him and none have taken to him.If he was that good Im sure he would be fought over by a few clubs for 7.5 million and not going to the basement club of the EPL.

M'vila is one of the most overrated players in football at the moment, plus his attitude is a disgrace! plenty of better and higher quality players in the market such as biglia, capoue and wanyama

Remy and M'Villa are not Arsenal class. That is way they will play in QPR and QPR are fighting to stay in EPL....

I don't think we're letting either of those players get away!! The fact is those players are not good enough to improve our squad to the level we need. We need top class players not players who will try to fight relegation battles.

QPR are in a position to take a 7m punt on a player who is performing at one tenth his quality of two years ago, arsenal cannot, hence why Wenger and his staff have looked, assessed and found him wanting when it comes to attitude and form, not worth the money

Reason we don't want him is cos if his attitude and tbh he's gone gargage qpr welcome to him

Iff m, villa was any good he wouldnt even consider a team destined for the championship next season would he?
