Can't see him going to Chelsea, the reason he's leaving Madrid was Jose didn't fancy him as first choice striker, and if they pay £37 million good luck to them. I don't think we will sign him at this stage either.

Agree1 Disagree0

It's oh tv also

Agree0 Disagree0

Lads why do we do this to ourselves, same story each year. Linked with superstars & they never arrive, only to be signed by rival teams. I hate how any time someone posts here & keeps it real it's seen as being negative when our track record doesn't suggest much to be optimistic about. Sure we got Cazorla or Podolski last year, but as much as I like them they're not world beaters. Why do we get linked with the best but end up signing 4th or 5th beat targets? Wenger era needs to end ASAP

Agree2 Disagree1

Why would Jose want higs? When at real he hardly played him

Agree1 Disagree0

Chelsea already have Torres, demba ba, lakaku and that german fella, I wouldn't be surprised we end up with one of thier cast offs.

Agree1 Disagree0

Kinda feels like we lay the groundwork for snagging these guys than the big fish just roll in with an extra few pounds and snap them up. Is so depressing sometimes I jus hope we get a couple of signings because we are close to the top but to get to the very top we need that extra bit of quality because I think the foundations are there I can't take another nearly or what if season
( any truth to the chelski link Edd )
Irishgunner

Agree2 Disagree0

Now I'm not saying we don't need another world class striker because obv we do need a big name who's going to bang in the goals. But I do believe giroud is going To have a good season and get quite a few goals.

Agree2 Disagree0

Same old story as mata, hazard last season and jovetic and higuin this year we do all the chasing then other clubs don't mess around and come straight in when know final price and buy. Arsenal argue or stall over few millions.

Agree1 Disagree0

Mourinho said that Rooney is his only target, if only managers didn't lie.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why didn't he play him every week if he rated him that highly. km

eds

what do you think are the chances of us getting gustavo for bayern since there midfeild list is as long as my arm surley he will be looking a first team games since brazil are hosting the wc? {Ed029's Note - I don't reckon there is any real chance.}

Believable7 Unbelievable29

Good shout though

Arsenal to sign Portuguese SC Braga striker Eder for 10m

Believable11 Unbelievable56

I don't think this rumour is authentic, more over he is valued at £16million by his club Sporting Braga

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2013 14:23:50
Edd any news on outgoings apparently bendtner to hull and santos back on loan and Campbell and myiachi to be loaned out any news on chamakh {Ed001's Note - Chamakh is a big problem, so little interest in him, his wages are high which presents difficulties in just fobbing him off on anyone. It is most likely he will end up on loan again the way things are going.}

Believable27 Unbelievable6

Well that just blows that we can't get rid of him

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2013 16:21:12
hell go on loan every year until his contract runs out with arsenal paying between 50 and 75 per cent of his wages. What a waste of money and we are out in the transfer market haggling and not getting players because we won't pay transfer fees

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2013 08:38:41
Ed's, any chance of us signing El Shaarawy this summer, the AC Milan president said he wasn't unsellable and he is a promising young talent {Ed029's Note - From Ed02 on another page - Anzhi, Manchester City, Real Madrid and PSG would like to strike a deal with Milan at some point but the player is happy where he is and Milan have no intention of selling - although if the right deal is offered they may listen. Interest from Monaco remains unconfirmed and Napoli dropped out of the running when they signed Callejon. When Manchester City sign Jovetic their interest will likely go.}

Believable5 Unbelievable33

I really don't rate him

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's face it, we are just 3 weeks away from the start of the season and we are not near signing anyone. Other clubs seem to be getting active, particularly Man City and Chelsea, but Arsenal preach about transfer fees and sit on their pot of gold. Never mind, season tickets have been renewed now so propoganda can stop now!

Just seen on tv RM now want 37m fo higuan

Believable55 Unbelievable9

He isn't worth that much he's 2yard short of being world class for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let them keep him. I would rather we purchased Suarez for £40m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha I think someone has clocked on to the fact the Napoli suddenly have a larger transfer budget! They are such snakes, no wonder we don't like dealing with them

Agree1 Disagree0

They have probably over inflated the price because Napoli are now in talks with Higuain's people. Real Madrid wanted Cavani but Napoli wouldn't budge with there ridiculous £50 million valuation of the player so Madrid are giving Napoli a taste of there own medicine by over inflating the price for Higuain. It will be £25 million for Higuain but if Napoli want him they will have to pay £37 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chances are we could get Suarez for around that figure anyway. On balance who would people on here prefer? For me I think Suarez would add to our play in more areas and would therefore be a better fit.

CECEGUaW

Agree0 Disagree0

The Real Madrid president must go to the same school of transfer negotiating as Daniel Levy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you really think Liverpool will deal with us for £40m after what happened with us selling RVP to United last season?

Not a chance, despite all the rumours!

Agree0 Disagree0

The latest story on Cesar is that Arsenal wanted him on loan - are we for real? I am beginning to question whether we really do have £70M to spend because if we can't afford £3M for a new keeper there is no chance of paying anyway near the asking price for top strikers! This situation is very worrying.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh now its 37? **** that.

Higuain is good, but there are better options I think out there for that kind of money.

Id say bring back Cesc. He can easily be interchangeable in the midfield striker position.

I don't know man. 37 is expensive. 25, sure, not 37.

Wenger to ditch Higuain bid as he will be Cavani's replacement. Likely that we'll bid for Papiss Cisse as he has been left out of Newcastles trip to Portugal. For those unaware Cisse is refusing to wear Newcastles kit featuring sponsors Wonga due to being Muslim as he feels the company exploits the poor. Mike Ashley & Wonga not willing to compromise over his kit so he'll be sold on & the Emirates is a likely destination

Believable25 Unbelievable79

IMO Cisse is perfectly right to stick by that. Wonga is an organisation totally devoid of ethics, feeding on the poor, luring them into taking financial risks they can't afford in the long run. What people stand to lose over a failed Wonga repayment is shocking.

I know ethics don't matter in football, not financial anyway, which is why betting is legal and why betting companies can endorse teams or kits, but imo it shouldn't be.

If an established club like Newcastle FC can't pick a sponsor who are capable of considering the largest belief system on the planet then they really will never progress. Thy've already talen themselves back a decade bringing Kinnear back, doesn't seem to be getting much better does it? It's essentially discrimination, if I were Cisse I'd consider a law suit.

I'd have him here but no more than I'd have Remy. I. e. another decent option but not the world class first choice we need.

Agree5 Disagree3

You think wenger will go for a player who scored 8 in 36 last season?

NE Gooner

Agree1 Disagree2

Wenger signed Adebayor after he scored just 6 for Monaco so I'd well believe he would sign him

Agree1 Disagree1

The way Giroud is playing. I don't think Wenger will buy a striker who will replace him out right.

Agree2 Disagree2

He's on the list of signings that would see me give up my season ticket next year.

Not good enough.

Spend your own money like fools but not my hard earned.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load. Man up and put on the kit, it's your job Cisse.

Agree2 Disagree1

Cant see it happening, not the type of player we need. We in for a big name striker.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jul 2013 09:37:48
cisse is pants always off side misses to man chances, hs een found out.

Agree1 Disagree0

2+2 = 5

Not an improvement to our starting XI

Agree1 Disagree0

Arsenal want Suarez not Cisse don't spout out rubbish.

Suarez will most likely end up at Arsenal now our first bid was 30m with add ons taking it up to 35m and we are set to bid again around 37.5m with add ons to 40m which could see the ball in the players court and Suarez to join us.

You don't go from Rooney, Higuain, Suarez to Cisse we will exhaust all better options then if anything look to Benteke.

Agree1 Disagree0

Heard a rumour that its nothing to do with wonga just cisse forcing a move. a ed elaborated on another page about this and made the valid point that virgin are money lenders as well.
belly

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah, because Nike don't exploit the poor in 3rd world countries. what a load of toss pot. Besides, he's a poor striker. Giroud's much better

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play to the geezer, not sure we need him at AFC though.

Agree0 Disagree0

I bet cisse is still pickin up his wages tho

Agree0 Disagree0

Sponsorship pays for the players wages!

Who does the player think he is to start dictating to the club! Should let him rot in the reserves!

Bored of hearing about special treatment for the select few due to there religion!

Ribery complained about being sprayed with beer due to being a muslim, didn't stop him bedding a 17 year old prostitute thou, did it! #Hippocrate

Agree1 Disagree0

To the last post and person that posted it, don't bring religion in to it he bedded prostitute few years back only converted to Islam this year.

Agree1 Disagree0

He is bang out of order, whilst living in our country abide by our rules.

A GOONER

Agree0 Disagree0

Enough of the politics its starting to show how small minded some people are here. he's made his choice not to wear it that's it.

The same persons that cry for freedom make comments like "whilst living in our county abide by our rules"

Now that's hipocrytical!

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't mean to be bad & nothing against any religious beliefs. But I wonder if let's say a catholic player says "I don't wanna wear Nike kits because they have kids working in factories & that's against my beliefs", would they even consider his argument & try to come to some arrangement? Doubt it. I heard Newcastle even built a prayer room at St. James following Cisse's request. Another player (non muslim) would be told "there's a church down the street"

Agree0 Disagree0

Signing someone like cisse would be a let down when we are bidding for players like suarez

Agree0 Disagree0

There are some really inarticulate and ignorant people on here. I think Cisse is perfectly justified to object to Wonga. 2000% + interest on loans that only the poor and desperate will take. Usury is to polite a word for it. And when did it become part of our country's values?

A really, really, really long shot, but has there been any interest shown in Ibra. Or is a pointless pursuit because of his wages?

NE Gooner

Believable10 Unbelievable64

Pointless pursuit, doubt if Wenger will go for him.

Agree2 Disagree0

To many past issues, I think its a no go.

All that aside look at his age, can you really see him getting a long contract at Arsenal like he would be looking for.

I think not, but hey who knows anything can happen. I just don't see it.

Sorry for the reality =]

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love Ibra! His age is not a problem look at him 110% proffesional. Winning mentality and getting better every year!

Agree0 Disagree0

Zlatan doesn't do trials.

Dont shoot the messenger or slate the negativity. But can confirm the following transfers will go thru in the next 2weeks. Negreda & jovetic to sign for man city, rooney to sign for chelsea, felleini to sign for man u, cesar & higuin to sign for napoli and suarez to madrid. i'm sure you can notice these are all araenL targets. I've been told arsenal will look to bring in 2-3 big buys still to cool the fans anger ov losing out in all the above names, however no one will even speak to wenger and arsenal till after tour! all immediate signing links are rubbish unless players are on a plane to vietnam to speak to wenger! B88

Believable63 Unbelievable24

Considering Richard Law handles transfer negotiations, potential players wouldn't have to even speak to Wenger. Even if that were true, it's not like they don't have phones!

Agree0 Disagree0

"all immediate signing links are rubbish unless players are on a plane to vietnam to speak to wenger. " You need to check out these new telephone things everyone's got, they're amazing, they allow people to speak to one another without being in the same room. I would tell you about Skype, but I don't want to blow your mind just yet.

Agree2 Disagree0

Thanks for confirming the obvious. you know nothing.

Agree1 Disagree0

I decided to say nothing as I didn't want to offend the poster =]

Agree1 Disagree0

Oh. wow.

Words fail me.

Dick Law (And Dein) handle negotiations at AFC.

Yes I did say Dein and no I'm not living in the past.

Agree0 Disagree1

You know that mobile phones are a thing, right?

-Montana Matt

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not impossible to conclude deals while team is on tour, expect announcements to happen only upon their return though. Wenger doesn't negotiate every single deal, people are in place for that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Saying that we're only after big players to appease fans but won't sign anybody is the dumbest excuse on the planet. If that were true, it would only make fans 10 times angrier when August 31st rolled around and we signed nobody.

P. S. there is a reason why the fans don't run the club

Agree0 Disagree0

You can confirm. Oh excellent.

Agree0 Disagree0

You can confirm - Haha. You can take a good guess like the rest of us. Also there is no way they are going to sign 2-3 big buys just to cool the fans. They have never done anything to just please the fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2013 09:56:57
wenger wants that lad from vietnam to play up front a 2pound deal has been agreed and that's the only player that we want he said that's it for this window there will be another 2 pound to spend in the next window. Tommy Irish Red

Agree1 Disagree0

Madrid want Ibra

Napoli will sign Damio and their deal for Cesar was a loan which Harry Redknapp vehemently said will not happen.

Higuain is still an option for Arsenal if we fail to get Suarez.

Your right on Rooney as he will most likely end up Chelsea.

Jovetic to City their paying more than he is worth so can have him.

Fellaini is a holding mid Man u need a playmaker hence why they went in for fabregas which apparently they will bid again for to no success. As the player, manager don't want him to leave!

Agree0 Disagree0

He's got one thing right though. We won't be making any big signings. Why join a club whose ambition is no more than a top 4 finish?
