Believable5 Unbelievable15

Source in Madrid, surely?

It does not look like Barca have the money. What then?

Great news if you're right mate. Cesc will only go to Barca, Barca won't pay 43m - Cesc stays at aresenal

daily mail: chelsea to bid for walcott and psg to try lure wenger as new manager.

Believable7 Unbelievable17

Wenger will not go to PSG this season as they have only just appointed leonardo a few months ago FACT

Agree0 Disagree0

The media have nothing to write about so they are making up stories, Walcott is going nowhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have always thought that Wenger will go to PSG and this is in my opinion a distinct possibility after the Quatar take over of PSG.
When Wenger commentates on French TV in Champions League matches he is always hinting towards Paris.
Still don't think Lille will sell Hazard due to his youn age , CL football for the first time and also if he goes after Gervihno the Lille coach Rudy Garcia will walk.
Lille is a very stable club .
Wait and see how Hazard handles top class players in the CL - after all he is unproven at this level and might be a let down.
If Nasri goes watch out for Wenger at PSG

Marko Marin to replace Fabregas.

Armand Traore (remember him?) to replace Clichy.

Nasri to sign a new contract.

Believable13 Unbelievable14

Only I disagree with You is about Nasri. He wants more money and club who has more chance of wining something, he'll certanly leave City or Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi there mate i dont think its marko marin.
i think the player you mean is marvin martin from sochaux

Agree0 Disagree0

About Marko Marin he is LM or AM probably replace for Nasri. Only 2 players with quality to replace Cesc are Yoann Gorcouff and Diego enyone else will be flop.

Hi, i just wanted to share what i recently heard from a recent player of Arsenal, who has close connections to the club: according to this source i have been told that Fabregas will not be travelling with arsenal on the asian tour as well as clichy and few others that will be sold. also heard that nasri n wenger will be having showdown talks over the weekend, where wenger will be explaining to nasri about his transfer plans, and the possible replacements for Cesc.
i was told that asrenal are definately going to go for Eden Hazard- not a direct replacement for fabregas as that will be nasri... hence hazard will be nasri's replacement.
also iv heard that wenger is trying to dish out the best deal possible to get G.Cahill and will also look to buy a younger CB therefore 2 CBs looking to get signed.
other info i recieved was that wenger wants a CDM as song will be heading to the ACON in jan hence needing back up, he also wants a ST either as back up or starting XI- apparently Benzema is wanted.
other signings will be made to improve the squad such as: barca duo(done), jenkinson (done), chamberlain, a CM(matuidi is apparently the 1)

Believable13 Unbelievable9

Im sure wenger "wants" alot of world class players...just like a skint guy wants to buy a bently....you need to pay to play...and wenger and his board arnt willing so he's pretty much dreaming...what you think ed? {Ed009's Note - I think that Arsene will probably spend more than he usually does, but anyone expecting a spending spree ala City will be disappointed.}

According to SkySports News, Nasri is on his way to man utd, for around 25 million.

Believable6 Unbelievable22

I'm a GOONER through & through but if i see my team mates and best players leaving for so call better teams and my manager isn't spending money on top players i'd think about leaving ie (Van Persie) also what i don't understand if some of the best young talent want to come to Arsenal why are we messing around ie Chamberlain, Hazard, Cahill, Jageilka, i say get them in NOW NOW NOW. And one more question, what is Gazidis doing to help Arsene? cause where i'm standing he's a liabililty, where as David Dein had a great relationship with the players and always made a special transfer (Least once a season). Our reputation in the world of football is slowly being eaten away by bad judgements. When will we hear from Stan Kronke the majority share holder, cause to me we as fans need to know his plans for the club and how he's going to help us compete with Man U, Chelsea, Man City, Barca, Real, and all the other top teams in the world. I think there's only so much Arsene can do, the rest is down to the board. ARSENAL TIL I DIE

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought that AW specifically said he wont sell Nasri to Man U. Ed any comments please?

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't believe all the bs in the papers, Nasri is not going to United. RVP will go nowhere. Sky sports are just a tv version of the sun, have no respect for them anymore. Sources are normally , spanish newspaper, any blog, any agent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Man U are the sky sport's favorite team always has been, even got their own channel on Sky. it's a s''t station who makes stories up to sell the the thing,

Agree0 Disagree0

This is rubbish and nasri is not going anywhere he will sign a new deal soon

02 Jul 2011 17:26:24
IMO if we do sell fabregas and nasri and clichy, we will go completely backwards.

Clichy is not dat big of a loss as we have replacements.

We are screwed without fabregas and nasri as apart from van persia we relie on them too much for goals.

If van Persie does get injured we will struggle for a top 4 place if not already.

We seem to be lining up completely crap players to replace

Yes Cahill and gervinho seem gud bt I can't see Alvarez being a direct replacement.
Wecannot compete with anyone for top players and we are going backwards.

If we don't win a trophy or sign anyone gud, I'm afraid more will leave for better clubs . ( van Persie, , WILSHERE, , ramsey, , Walcott)

Believable19 Unbelievable9

Oh no what will we do without ramsey

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO Ramsey is probly one of your best talents. You arsenal fans are so naive. Fabregas, nasri, Walcott will leave so you'd want to keep onto whatever decent talent you have got left before your stupid manager signs any more wanabes who r cheap, young and crap

any chance of lukaku ed Chelsea are taking their time could wenger nip it ?

{Ed022's Note - Wenger nip it? Wenger is notoriously one of the slowest and most maticulous mean when it comes to sorting transfers. However, I think the interest from Chelsea has cooled with Villas-Boas saying he has other targets in mind...}

analysis of this team
sagna is the best right back in the league
cahill would most probably be bought i have got doubts probaly be bought for 17.5m with one player going the other way

TV im sure he will preform and he will most probably be a bit more attacking

gibbs would most probably make the step up to the first team
as will ramsey
he would be a holding midfielder or frimpong playing a defensive mid who in my mind is fab unfortunately he got injured if not he would have been playing alongside wilshere in every match FACT

gervinho would be a winger and would be great getting in alls to RVP he got more assists than hazard and more goals.

wilshere we all know is great and frimpong and him won the youth cup and are known friends

nasri if he stays would be a big asset as we saw in the first half of the season

walcott on numerous occasions has said he wants to play up front i beleive he would be great

if RVP is injury free we will have the premier leagues top scorer

if unfortunately he is injured gervinho would go upfront with Walcott and lansbury might play or another young gun

hazard/mata would be fab

yeah yeah fab nasrey and clichy are going and with all luck ashirvin bentner and salathchey ( ha who knows how spell that one ) are going too , AW get right on my tits sometimes tho we cart forget hes took us to our beauitful new home and cound of only done that while getting the likes of rvp / fabregas nastry clichey /song wilshire and theo for a total of 20 MILL add it up and youall see quite a shock i know

wengers allways on the edge of genius and dumness at the same time with our arsenal " prodjects " and after this one falling apart i guarentee you he will get the next one right

like any of us want nastry to get 180.000 a week or clichey tho fool get what ever hes after and as for bentner well nuff said , we gota stop whingeing and show some beliefe and fight like i say wengers learn alot over the past few years and he will get it all right

tony too

DODO / davide santon should replace clichy
but ed is it likely and also are we interested in
andrea ranocchia

{Ed022's Note - The interest Dodo is extinct. Santon is highly paid and highly rated so no. Cant think of anything funny for Ranocchia apart from the fact he has the first name of a girl.}

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Santon and andrea are fab we should get them but ed is the chance of getting any of them higher than 25%

{Ed022's Note - There's no doubt Santon is a good player and he will only get better as he is still only 20. With regards to my mate Andrea. He's been at Inter less than a year so its again unlikely to happen. Percentage wise. 10%.}

Agree0 Disagree0

But your not allowed to call a girl Andrea in Italy because it is a boys name.

{Ed022's Note - We're not in Italy. This means I can still take the piss.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed do you think AW is still in the race to sign Baines or Eto'o

{Ed022's Note - Eto'o is a no. Baines is being quoted 15m. Therefore, cheaper options such as Enrique (Newc) are much more likely.}

02 Jul 2011 16:48:18
{Ed022's Note - Hazard was mentioned as a "replacement IF Nasri goes..." Mata has also been linked. I think its a real shame IF Nasri leaves as I feel this season he would have been really important to us. Especially as Cesc WILL be leaving.}

is it likely that we will get any of them if nasri leaves and im sure wenger has some cheap /young/ french players lined up who are they eg costa /will.i.an

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Hazard looks likely to go to PSG as the new quatari owners have offered 27 mill (i think) and erding for him

{Ed022's Note - Hazard has come out and stated he would like to play for PSG recently. I am sure the Qatari billions have had no effect on his decision...}

Okay One Thing That's Really Pissing Me Off At The Moment.

It's all the people that are posting on here about how pissed off they are:

with the club
with the board
with the players leaving
with the players we want to leave not leaving
with no new signings
with Arsene Wenger
with the allegedly linked players
with the players other teams are signing
with the colour of the away kit
with Eboue's choice of underwear on a Tuesday afternoon
with the fact that Liam Bradys right hand is a bit close to Henry's arse on the emirates external mural....
...if theres anything I have missed please feel free to add to the list.

its a pop at all the negative whingers on here...
Sometimes I think I'm one of the only people on here that thinks the club isn't in crisis...

arsenalyeti

Agree0 Disagree0

I certainly would say that the Arsenal is in a crisis. But I think it is more a matter of Wenger starting to doubt his own principles. Actually I agree with him when he claims being in the top-4 for so many years is an amazing achievement given the conditions.
Anyway I think he was too rigid in his team-selection last spring. Why did he keep playing RVP up front? Why did he put Fabregas in the team always, when he was obviously not fit? Arsenal played some brilliant passing football. Could play past any team down the wing, but who was there to put crosses in the net. RVP did great with his abilities, but he would have scored just as much from a position behind the striker.
Now it seems Bendtner wants to leave. I would have liked him given a go to gain real confidence - not just in his mouth. Also I find Abou Diaby a fantastic prospekt who can be the new star of the team. Just don't play him on the flank. Nasri will be a tremendous loss though. Peter

Complete Joke

Does This Annoy Anyone Else? Ed022?

{Ed022's Note - There is understandably a lot of frustration around the Emirates at the moment with regards to transfers (or lack of them...) As an Arsenal fan since a young child I too feel and understand the frustration. I, along with everyone wants to see "World class" players paraded in Arsenal shirts along with everyone else. Call me deluded but I just have a gut feeling that Wenger will pull it out of the bag.}

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Did sahin really sign for 8 million?

{Ed022's Note - He signed for 10m euros which is about 8.5m. He is a massive fan of Mourinho which is half the reason he signed. In addition to Real Madrid being one of the biggest teams in European football of course...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed, a couple of weeks ago I posted that I though AWs plan was to let all the big teams spend there budgets thus leaving a clearer field for himself. Unfortunately the star players that we have can't seem to wait and are jumping ship.
I can see it all going pear shaped and no longer have the cofidence that you do.
KJ

{Ed022's Note - Patience my friend. Patience. Although I will be honest enough to say my confidence has taken a battering with the rumours of whos leaving this week...}

Agree0 Disagree0

It seems that everyone has their own ideas of which players he should buy fueled by the media nonsense , probably via football manager, and they throw a teddy out of the pram when he doesn't buy those players . Moan at the end of July not now. Headlines Madrid might offer to buy Cesc, City might bid for nasri. Utd might bid for Nasri. Media making the stories up.

{Ed022's Note - This is my point. PATIENCE! If it was August 31st and we were in this situation then everyone can kick off! We all know the issues. We pray that by now, Wenger does. Give me him a chance to win back the trust of the moaning fans and to increase the trust in those that are still backing him...}

{Ed022's Note - I dunno if I am honest. I thought thats what he would try and do. Fergie has signed three players for about £60m. They're all signed sealed and ready to join pre-season on Tuesday. I am baffled as to why Wenger didn't do the same.}

Forgive me, been away from it for a few days.

Reported

RVP WANTS TO LEAVE, CESC DEAL MOVING CLOSER, NASRI TO MAN UTD ON MONDAY, CLICHY TO CITY, ARSHAVIN TO GREECE.

ARSENAL LOOKING AT BARTON, O'SHEA, DEFOE.

Now i said reported, so i no its not facts, but if that situation were to happen then arsene and the board would all have to be sacked.

We finished last year saying we needed to strenghten the first 11 with a stronger bench, instead it looks like the first 11 could be broken up and the bench stayin the same

anyway, still scratchin my head over all this, knew full well that there would be no in flux of signings on the 1st july as many of you expected, now wenger is sayin there is no rush to sign players? what they dont need to be settled in prior to our CL qualification game?

Ed022 ref your comment on how would RVP be feeling seeing players like cesc nasri clichy arshavin denilson diaby bendtner being sold? i think its more how does he feel not seeing players like denilson diaby bendtner roscicky squillaci almunia eboue being sold? otherwise it will be the same old same old next season, and he is to good and to smart not to realise.

One final thought, those that keep saying trust in wenger, he has it all under control etc, remind me of nelson from the simpsons, he lives in hope that the father that walked out on him, is one day just goona walk back and no one can convince him otherwise even though he has lived in hope year in year out
wakey wakey.
Ike.

Believable8 Unbelievable15

Arshavin is rumoured to be going to Turkey not Greece.

Also RVP is not leaving.

mhc503

{Ed022's Note - Galatasaray are the rumoured destination. However, I personally think we need to keep Arshavin as an impact player. He's not starting 11 but definitely one to bring on. On his game he can score a goal (or four against Liverpool) or lay on a pass for a goal. We moan we don't have experience in the team but Almunia aside, hes our oldest player!! He needs to stay for at least one more season.}

Am I the only gooner fan getting more and more depressed at the comments coming from AW. Today - it's he's going to wait until the end of July.The needs of the team have been apparent for the past couple of years and nothing was done to address them last year and there has been a surplus from the transfer deals done.If Cesc goes the price of a replacement will rise - "Arsenal can afford to pay more" surely a replacement needs to be bought now. All the delays about buying Cahill etc mean that other clubs come in tho why he would go to Chelski to sit on the bench I don't know. A couple of years ago we missed out on and Modric and Ronaldo - is thesame going to happen this year? If we wanted Micah Richards - surely we should have got him when Kole went to man City. Now it's supposedly Jagelka or Barton- when will AW learn that it's OK to buy an older english player? or make sure we get someone in return

Believable11 Unbelievable2

AW NEVER said he was waiting until the end of July. Goal.com SPUN the actual quotes from the Press Conference.

{Ed022's Note - Gervinho looks likely to sign with a few days if reports and quotes are to be believed. Wenger will surely make at least another signing before we tour. Otherwise I think your handicapping the incoming player. The difference a tour with your new team would make to him settling in...}

Ed i just heard in the news that Hector Bellerin whom we signed from barca was promised first team footy. He is a right back. Sagna is a right back. Who will be first choice?

{Ed022's Note - Sagna is and will be Arsenal's first choice right back. At 16yrs old it would be unlikely Bellerin will get a sniff this season other than the carling cup. Lets not forget Jenkinson is also a right back. As is Eboue (allegedly!) An interesting snippet I have heard is Bellerin maybe given the number 2 shirt. Which, if true, means Diaby is either changing number or leaving...}

Believable11 Unbelievable2

I thought bellerin was a right winger, not right back?

{Ed022's Note - He is a winger but has also played right back. It remains to be seen where AW wants to play him}

Agree0 Disagree0

I can safely say bellerin is defo a right winger, he was onced tried at right back but was very poor, hes a winger end of

{Ed022's Note - Kolo Toure was a midfielder and ended up as a CB. Henry was a right winger and was undoubtedly turned into one of the greatest strikers ever. The boys 16 and there is still time for positional change. There's no doubt Bellerin is a winger. Thats not to say Wenger sees that as his future position.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Eboue plays where he wants, when he wants.

He only plays right-back sometimes so he has to put some work in and show he is a mere mortal like the rest of us, rather than skillfully dancing through our opponents defence.

Jenkinson can also play CB

{Ed022's Note - I am unsure of the date we fly out but our first game is July 13th against a Malaysian XI. We then play another match against Hangzhou Greentown on 16th July. As for the strength of the squad, that will be announced around Friday 8th July I think.}

{Ed022's Note - As I said to another post, I would see Gervinho signing before the tour and I have heard a defender (Cahill if a deal can be worked out with Bolton) will be signed before we leave. As for outgoings. Cesc wants his future resolved ASAP and we start pre-season on Tuesday... Expect movement from a few others too before we leave.}

It makes me laugh to see Wenger saying he wont be rushed into making transfers. The guy constantly contradicts himself - everyone can see the weaknesses at Arsenal yet the stubborn one insists on ignoring the blatently obvious. Why not just pay out for Cahill & Samba which would much improve our ropey defence. Vermarlen could cover left side if required when gibbs injured? I can see things dripping along very slowly again this window and us missing out on some good signings Im still recovering from the squillachi transfer - f***ing hiddeous Another painful summer in the making, more excuses to come from Wenger and more ear bashings from the usual pundits lol. I say wait until the end of the transfer window ends then we can judge wenger if we've lost nasri fabregas and clichy and not got any good replacements then we can critic him but at the moment the last three players are still at arsenal keep faith gunners

Agree0 Disagree0

Denilson isn't fit to clean Cesc's boots let alone replace him.

Ed you think arsenal are out of race for cahill? also what happened to alvarez rumour?

{Ed022's Note - Behind the scenes Arsenal are working on a deal but rather than just paying the sum (Liverpool style...) AW is trying to throw in random players to bring the price down. Bolton have rejected both Bendtner and Vela as part of the deal. Miquel (Reserves captain) is now being offered but seeing as he hasn't play PL football at all I cant see Coyle accepting him. Stalemate and more wasting valuable time. Especially as Chelsea now seem quite keen on Cahill too...}

Believable13 Unbelievable3

I think we have to be patient as we have to sell the likes of Bentner, Denilson, etc and see what happens with Fabregas, Nasri & Clichy. Although I must say it is clear that we need two central defenders, an adfditional defensive midfield player & a forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, not sure where you're hearing this but it's ALL Paper-Talk. Bolton were happy with Miquel makeweight but wanted Vela back as well, Arsene wants to initially keep Vela this season.

They've not even offered Bendtner to Bolton yet; but I actually think it was Bendtner who turned down Bolton when asked.

{Ed022's Note - Either way. I think we're wasting time. Again. Its like eating a 99 flake in the sun. If you mess around and waste time its disappeared! Thats what happens with most of our transfers... Cahill should have been wrapped up weeks ago!}

Hey ed, I constantly read this page and I know AW is very secretive about signings which is deppressing for us die-hard fans.....

What do U think the chances of Arsenal signing a BIG signing (e.g Kaka, Sneijder) in the Midfield if Cesc and Nasri were to leave??

{Ed022's Note - No chance on either im afraid. As much as I would love to see a ready made replacement for Cesc in the shape of Sneijder (and I have been saying we should sign him for ages..) I just cant see it happening. Kaka's knee has apparently "gone" and I wouldn't see him as a good signing.}

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Who would u think would be our biggest signing?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree fully with Ed, we will not sign Kaka (knee) nor the dutchman whose wages will be way beyong our policy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kaka and sneijder aint gunna leave its just one of those things, also kaka doesnt like the prem

Can someone please explain why Arshavin, Clichy & Nasri's contracts have been allowed to run down to 12 months? These are valuable assets, which Arsenal should have protected. I am a great supporter of Wenger, but since David Dein left, things havent been the same. We have won nothing In the past I would have selected the Arsenal team before a match & once announced Wenger had picked the same team. I could predict the substitutions. For some time now I cant fathom Wenger out, the following are examples; Perservering with Almunia, Playing Gibbs (a midfield player) at left back, jettisoning the successful 4-4-2 formation, changing from generally tall powerful athletic players to small technical players. We need to sign Reina, Samba, Cahill, Fellaini (spelling?), Barton (an idiot, but ideal for the PL, to give bite), Gervinho, Benzema & Alvarez. We need to sell Fabregas, Nasri, Clichy, Denilson, Arshavin & others Return to a 4-4-2. Failing which, next season we need Usmanov, Dein & Mourinho.

{Ed022's Note - Hazard was mentioned as a "replacement IF Nasri goes..." Mata has also been linked. I think its a real shame IF Nasri leaves as I feel this season he would have been really important to us. Especially as Cesc WILL be leaving.}

Striker Robin van Persie could head for the Emirates Stadium exits if Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy all depart, if reports in the Daily Star are to be believed.

read this on skysports transfer centre .. lets be honest who can blame him?

Believable7 Unbelievable16

The origin of that rumour was the daily star and to be quite honest; I think it is utter tripe I would rate RVP as one of wenger's most loyal players

Agree0 Disagree0

Replacing nasri and fabergas with gervinio simply not good enough arene wenger has lost it next season we r guna b playin channel 5 Thursday nite football if we r lucky Total joke

{Ed022's Note - Wengers not replacing Nasri and Fabregas with Gervinho. What kind of a statement is that?! Next you'll be telling me we're replacing Almunia with Gary Cahill... Stop your whinging...}

Agree0 Disagree0

It says it was when he was talking to friends, so i don't see much truth in it as arsenal was his boyhood club b/c of bergkamp. also i could have sworn he was quoted saying he plays arsenal for the love of the club not money...

{Ed022's Note - I wouldn't read too much into it, especially if Arsenal sign good replacements, which I think they will...}

The deal for Jagielka has been agreed. He was always Wenger's main defensive target and now a deal has been agreed........

Close source to club. Also told a month ago that Cesc was definitely going as well as Nasri if agent had his way

Diego's agent is said to be meeting club officials in London today.. Out of the several clubs in London, Arsenal seem the best fit for Diego and he is the creative midfielder that we'll need once Fabregas inevitably leaves.
Recently he's been linked with a move to Liverpool, but their Midfield is seriously saturated. We can also offer Champions league football.. any thoughts Ed? {Ed009's Note - he is a very good, albeit disruptive player. Is he what Arsenal want at a time of apparent transition?}

Believable8 Unbelievable9

Are u all mad? Especially Ed009. Diego is s**t player. Couldnt even get into Juve bad attitude at Wolfsburg. You lot seem to be satisfied with everything. Wake up Wenger has to go

{Ed022's Note - For suggesting Wenger has to go I think the men in white coats are coming for you....}

Arsenal will have signed Gervinho within 48 hours. Also Arsenal will make a sensational 17million + ignasi miquel but not on permanent, it will be a season long loan as A.W knows he will be one for the future. However Alex-oxlade chamberlain is a maybe- depending if Denilson goes. Also Cesc will leave Arsenal if the fee is in the region of 45 million. With Real Madrid IN THE RACE AS WELL.

Believable8 Unbelievable8

48 hours... 48 hours. Would people stop with the 48 hours already. Its been 1, 393, 3939 hours already

I just asked about Stekelenburg but I forgot to add my actual rumour

I heard from a friend that Marouane Fellaini is one of our main targets. This friend is usually reliable but wont give up his sources which makes me dubious. What do you think Ed? {Ed001's Note - Arsenal have had contact with Everton regarding transfers, that much is certain. Who the contact is regarding is a different matter, which is why you see rumours regarding Jagielka (a past target) and Baines. My guess would have been those two, but it certainly could be Rodwell, Fellaini or Arteta, all of which Everton are willing to sell for the right price.}

Ed I know you don't think we'll go for a keeper but do you think Maarten Stekelengburg is in Arsene Wenger's sights at all? He's out of contract next summer so I think he'd cost 5m-10m {Ed009's Note - he's a very good keeper, but as you say, I think Wenger will persist with Szczesny.}

few papers linking us with scott dann today.good player in my opinion.with chelsea starting to show an interest in cahill dann might be a cheaper option.what you think Ed....10 million or so?i was very impressed with him and johnson last season.id take either to ber honest.possibly favour dann as he is younger. {Ed009's Note - around 10 million yes, and he is a very good centre back - before he broke his leg Birmingham were fantastic in defence, after they were dire.}

I think its safe to say EVERYONE would love to see Eden Hazard at the Emirates, but would you class it as a "Marquee" signing?
Believe if you would
Unbelieve if you wouldnt
and your thoughts Ed and what are the chances of us getting him. (I know theyve said he's not for sale but things like that have been said before and transfer still happened) Thanks {Ed009's Note - I think if you're expecting a player of more value then Hazard as a marquee signing you may well be disappointed. There is long term interest in the player but his preferred clubs are Real or Barca and if he fails to get them he could well stay in Lille for another season.}

''Barcelona want to pay the Gunners just £8.5m, or 25% of the total transfer fee of £34m, this summer for Fabregas.''

This is beyond a piss take.

Ben

Believable19 Unbelievable6

If this is the case we need security in that we have first rights over any player in event of cashflow problems - we need to negotiate this one hard as he still has 3 years on his contract and will want to play regular football before euro 2012 he would not have the guts (or lack of sense) to go on strike - we need to make a stand with fabregas but if in reality nasri really wants out then maximise the value rather than zero - no one will buy him in jan knowing he will cost nothing in july i fear wenger will take this risky option which will back fire. do not care about clichy - he is listed as a star by the media but is poor defensively, can not shoot, can not cross, never scores oh yes real star qualities

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's fairly standard for installment deals on high value transfers.

Agree0 Disagree0

If the Arsenal board has a spine , they should make a stand NOW. Ask them to make a down cash payment in the region of 45 mil p.
Or else Barca can come back with the money when they have it. Meanwhile , if Madrid are willing to meet our 50 mil valuation, flog Cesc to them.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Ben, Arsenal would end up being Barcelona's bankers. Barca have become the con artists of the football world.

KJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Fabregas is no where near 8million hes worth like 40-50million so.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes i read that too but barca will pay arsenal off in 3 years wenger will decline this offer as he needs to buy a replacement for fabregas

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't they still owe us money from the Henry and Hleb deals?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think reals purchase of beckham was there last in installments 17m and whatever amount for winning 1 la liga title.considering they spent 230m 2 seasons ago and bought figo from barca for 39m in the past all payed upfront and they love rubbing barcas nose in it we should sell him to them.guaranteed a large sum upfront and no mistake.
