Sincerely hope this is not true but a view expressed this evening by someone who might be telling the truth is that mr wenger only has the funds from the sale of gervinho and mannone to purchase reinforcements unless he can secure a marquee signing. The 10 mil available is currently aimed at guilovogui, quagliarella and a 20 year old Bulgarian winger. Two potential marquee type signings have apparently fallen through today due to internal disagreement on value and in one case a salary/agent fee issue. As I say this is not fact but a view that may only be based on heresay the good news is that 1 potential major signing is still a possibility and the club want it done tomorrow.

1.) I really can't see this being true, I mean all you ever hear about is how Wenger is a one man band as in he handles everything to do with the football side of the club.

If in fact this rumour was true why would he think about signing a new contract if the powers that be held such sway over the team?

Doesn't make any sense to me, I think the whole recruitment situation was directly linked to qualifying for Champ league or at least I hold hope it is ;)

2.) There might be some truth to this. I've heard Wenger has limited transfer funds this window as he is likely walking away after the season. The available money is being saved for the new manager next summer (unless a marquee signing can be made, as Whiskeyjack suggested).

3.) Why did we put in a 40 mil bid for suarez then? this is rubbish, if only you knew how much oney arsenal make, you would then see how they are robbing the fans blind.

Well that was just the ticket. Couldn't help wonder just how good Aaron Ramsey would be if he'd never had the injury. Still reckon there's a bit more to come from him and he will be very unlucky not to start if we do buy anyone tomorrow. Also thought mertesacker and koscielny looked very solid and chez did well. Flamini looked a 10 mil player just for his vocals and organisation - all in all great to stuff the spuds.
Most people around me confident we'll buy 3 or 4 tomorrow and not a hint of spendsomefeffing money.
