Hey Ed. Just seen an article regarding Benzema and the fact that he would like to sign for PSG. Were this to happen, then surely Cavani would want to leave? Do you reckon Arsenal would go for him were he to become available or would he be too much?
Also, if I may, any further rumblings on Lukaku's situation?

Thanks a lot!

rossj

{Ed025's Note - cavani would have to take a massive wage cut to join arsenal ross, and thats not very likely, lukaku,s situation will not be decided until after the world cup, and if he does well, we can expect a bidding war which i cant see arsenal getting involved with mate..

Cheers for the reply bud. It's pretty much what I expected. I'd love Lukaku to join but as you say, it seem highly unlikely.

Ok, so I'm going to do my best to inject some optimism into this page. Yes, today was a poor result. Gibbs getting injured (highly unfortunate) and Koscielny getting sent off (poor refereeing) did not help in the slightest. However, Wenger has admitted that the squad is thin and there has never been a window where he and the board haven't spent any money. Gustavo would have been nice but if he isn't the right kind of "quality" then fair enough. With Arteta out, Wenger knows that this is a position that needs immensely strengthening. Higuian was looking promising but physically is too similar too Giroud. (who scored today by the by) Williams is still possible, Suarez is still possible and to be fair, there are a number of decent players still available for fairly decent money. The budget will be spent because everyone at the club knows that it has to be. Players will come in. Arsenal will qualify for the Champions League because everyone at the club knows the importance of the competition and they will not fail. There are still over two weeks to go so let's not go mental. Call me naive or even stupid but I know what my gut tells me. In the next two weeks, players will come in and they will help the club win. It's only the first day of the season. We're not Liverpool and we sure as hell aren't Tottenham. Keep the faith friends. If I'm wrong, Ed's, feel free to block me from the site. {Ed007's Note - Being optimistic doesn't warrant a ban Ross, relax, we're not that strict.}

1.) Roosj - the trouble is that we've had all summer to buy players which would have given them time to start to bed in, not only with there new team mates and the style of football that we play but also finding accommodation. (I know the club helps with this) Again we are leaving it to the last minutes. Like last season we haven't learnt and it takes defeats before reacting. Prices going up at the last minute and we end up buying the players we don't truly want. Park for example. Again this would never had happened when David Dein was here. We've run the club to fit into the fair play however we are like the England of the EU. We are the only ones doing it.Bottom line is Too little Too late AGAIN

Fabregas made captain, left the following year. Van Persie made captain, left the following year. Vermaelen made captain, injured and didn't play, then sold. just be thankful Per is only vice!

You've given up on the first day of the season? Come one mate, man up! There are still two weeks left of the transfer window and 37 league games left to go. Sort yourself out.
