The whole saga could run cold – just as the Higuain deal did – with Arsenal either pulling out or being priced out. Either way the deal could break down and the Gunners are left with just Yaya Sanogo to show for their efforts in July.

Spot the troll

2.) 29 Jul 2013
If this is the case, Wenger should come out and say WTF he is up to, think we have well and truly missed the boat, can't keep fighting for 4th place, have some ambition.

3.) 29 Jul 2013
That is a fair shout, will be interesting to see how the fans react, I have a feeling after all the pre-window BS if AW fails this season ( winning a trophy) then he will leave the seat

4.) 30 Jul 2013
The gunners and their efforts?? Anyone else smell a spud jealous me thinks as our ambitions are greater than theirs a cannon is superior to a chicken buk buk

5.) 30 Jul 2013
Suarez and Rooney were higher targets.

We were happy to pursue them instead of pay the inflated price for Higuain of 35m.

Real Madrid on the day Napoli were due to announce Higuain asked for more money in add-ons.

Wenger will approach Suarez in a different manner he wants him more and will make sure he signs one of them.

6.) 30 Jul 2013
Anyone who actually THINKS rather than WANTS will know deep down that this window was always going to end in tears. We all want big names, but we were never ever going to get them. Truth hurts lads

7.) 30 Jul 2013
I can't see Arsenal bidding more than the £40,000, 001. I think Suarez's agent was sure that was his buyout clause and told Arsenal that would seal the deal. It's all down to Suarez now to push the deal through.

8.) 30 Jul 2013
Yeh but the problem is the Cannon is

Firing Blanks and will do again this season

Im an arsenal supporter, all gooners should boycott all FA cup, carling cup and champions league home games. we was promised a big spending spree of about £70 million to enables us to challenge for the league and champs league, as per usual this was just a load of crap so fans would renew season tickets.
boycott all non prem league home games as a protest. if wenger can't be bothered to spend money than neither should we.

10.) 30 Jul 2013
Forget about Suarez, it's summertime enjoy it don't give yourself unnecessary headache and patiently wait for the better times-When Wenger leaves the club

11.) 30 Jul 2013
Dean where did you finish again?

Forever in our shadow.

12.) 30 Jul 2013
How can some people use the comment "theres a jealous spud here", and we "are more ambitious then them". sorry but what club has signed 2 players one of which cost £17.5ml. an they are on the cusp of getting solandro for £25ml. yes bale could leave but in could step di maria an calijon. not to mention who they WILL go out and buy with cash part of the deal its already been said that arsenal won't meet £50ml for buck tooth. maybe he will force a move but tha will b later rather than sooner. will wenger look at other areas to strengthen in the mean timei dout it. he says we are ready to do quick deals but it doesn't just depend on us. Well sorry but yes it does. meet the askin price an job done. yes I am a gooner but also a real football fan who doesn't get blinded by false promises. maybe wenger will prove everyone wrong, but we are seeing our sworn enemies strengten. we face a very real prspect that come the final wistle on our 3rd game of the season of being behind the spuds

13.) 30 Jul 2013
Dunstable it may be a spud but not a jealous one as they have already bought paulhino and that other fella that plays on the wing (much sought after) also with soldado on the horizon do you really think the spurs are jealous of your ambition ha ha ha very funny

Oh shut up whinging you bunch of girls, support your team in good times and bad. Look at the bigger picture, we're consistently one of the best 4 teams in England, and top 10 teams in the world. Of course we want trophies, but we're really not far off having a squad to compete for titles, but there really are not any available players on the market that would make us better.

To the post above, please boycott the games so my red membership might get me some decent games and not the likes of hull or fulham you plastic fans will be doing all us proper fans a massive favour if you do!

16.) 30 Jul 2013
I will always support my club no matter what. but ill also voice my opinion, YES we have been one of the top 4 in the prem. but are in a dangerous posistion of no longer being there. tha comment about there not being many players who could inprove us are you rral! There been plenty available since 1st of july, but like normal they have been snapped up by our rivals. Apparently we have the financial firepower to compete with the big boys, maybe we do but will still under value players an the big boys step over us an take the players we want. we have a decent first team, but no depth I hope wenger does pull it out of the hat with ayers brought in an I will b the first to say for one season out of 8 I was wrong like I said i'm a life long gooner but there will b one half of north london who are jealous an for the first time in 100 years it could be the red half, wenger ivan move us forward an prove your fans an the footballing world wrong

Arsene has always stated what he is about. Finding and developing Talent. We need to behave and support what he is doing, as if he spent the money of NAMES and these NAMES flopped, you will all be cussing.

Gnarby will be used this season. Walcott will be played as a centre forward, along with The Pold and Giroud is the man to score 20 plus.

Our best defender can't get into the team and what is the best Midfield combination from Wiltshire, Santi, Rosicky, Ramsey - who is showing his talent now - The Ox, Arteta.

I am looking forward to the season and Zelaman. what a potential

Sammy Nelson, the greatest left back

18.) 30 Jul 2013
Think he means zelalem^

19.) 30 Jul 2013
I posted earlier saying we should consider boycotting non prem league home games. some person head posted after that I should do that, saying I was a plastic fan. excuse me MR Moron, but i'm a season ticket holder for 26 years. you, by your own admittance are not, therefore you hardly go to any games, so how can you call me a plastic supporter. you post smacks of stupidity my friend.

Thanks chas ill give you a shout when we play baca, real, bayern etc in the champions league or united in the fa cup as tickets will be as rare as rocking horse poop but your chair (although I very much doubt you have one) will be empty.

23.) 31 Jul 2013
Hi again,
yes my friend I have had a season ticket for 26 years. just because you don't go to the emirates it doesn't mean nobody goes. check the attendances, 60,000 every home game and I am one of them, week in, week out my friend.
anyway, I haven't come on here to have rows with people. in my original post I was just expressing my opinion, I do believe we are all entitled to one and as a lifelong arsenal fan (47 years) I was just expressing mine. you say we will reach champs league final? well you can have my bloody seat if we get there because, and this is just my opinion, with our current squad and current transfer policy, ie we just window shop, than we have little or no chance of getting there.
I have nothing against wenger, you don't become a bad mananger overnight, but our biggest problem is wenger doesn't like to pay market value for players. look at man utd, they have been paying £30m+ for players for ten years, ie rooney, ferdinand and berbatov, we won't even pay that now. secondly, the board, especially gazidis, are more than happy to go along with the wenger policy of "look but don't buy".
im not a mathamatician but I reckon arsenal supporters pay in approx £90m per season to AFC, that's season tickets, all champs league/cup home games, merchandising, shirt/kit sales and match day programmes etc. how much goes on transfers? in the last 9 years we have actually spent £10m on players, once you have accounted for transfer fees for players sold, that's just over £1m per season we have spent on squad improvement, that's bloody ridiculous.

My pleasure canning84.
as you said, if you speak your mind and express an opinion some people slag you off. now, I don't mind being slagged off but not by somebody who doesn't even go to the games. just for the record, my opinions come from the frustration of seeing the team I have supported all my life going backwards when everybody else is going forward.
I have no problem with wenger, he is the best thing to happen to arsenal but all I wish is he would step into the real world and start spending the money that us arsenal supporters invest in the club.
you look forward to the game all week and than you find after 30 mins you are 2 nil down at home to man utd/man city/chelsea. than you look at the touchline and wenger is on his feet, arms in air, shaking his head as if to say "what the hells going on". well arsene, its because you, unlike fergie, mancini, mourinho or whoever is in charge of our main rivals, don't spend any money.
thats just my opinion and as a gooner i'm bloody entitled to one.
chas

25.) 31 Jul 2013
There are some good posts on here. I too have supported Arsenal for a long time (since 1970) and although there have been some pretty bad times (14,000 for a home game at Highbury, and I was one of them) this is the least ambitious we have been and I just don't get the attitude of the club in not getting top notch players in. Not qualifying for the CL is financial suicide and I am thinking that the club will sit on the huge transfer pot so that there is a back up should we not qualify in August. Other teams invest and strengthen yet we do not and our squad is now probably the smallest in the PL? what is going on!

Thanks chas I remember how hard and expensive it was to get a ticket for the champs league final in paris 2005 and will always remember the feeling when we went 2-1 down and went onto lose, yes I was out there and although I wouldn't bet on us getting to the final next may if we do ill give you a shout.

27.) 31 Jul 2013
No problem my friend, always a pleasure.
