Wenger is clearly after Cabaye as a suitor to Arteta's current role, Cabaye has similar qualities in terms of passing, discipline and positioning. Cabaye actually may have more bite and aggression than Arteta so I think this is a smart signing, assuming it will come off!

Guys am I the only one who sees the obviouse problem in our midfield. NO BALANCE. I have noticed people on here get defensive about arteta but what you must see is that he is out of position! yes he is a great player but he is not an arsenal holding midfielder. the best 3 in the middle we have had in recent years was 2011 when we had song, jack and cesc, the mighty three that turned over barca. that was a perfect balance of perfect midfielders. WE DO NOT NEED CABAYE! WE NEED A BIG POWERFUL ENFORCER WITH TECHNICAL ABILITY. basically the role that patrick viera made. we need a kondogbia or a pogba in there to balance it. our midfielders are being wasted without it.
