I've been told that the reason we pulled out of the Cesc race is part of an agreement for Chelsea to open negotiations with us regarding Lukaku. Anyone else heard this?

Sounds like the worst deal in the world IMO. Give Chelsea a free reign to sign a top class player that would improve their team just to give us the right to buy a one season wonder (so far) player they don't think is good enough for them.

Lukaku is NOT a one season wonder.
