Ed, do you see Lazacette moving clubs this summer?

{Ed002's Note - The situation has changed with Fekir signing a new contract and Lyon buying a new striker - so there is a very good chance he will.}

Bugger, Fekir is excellent. I don't think we'll land Lacazette, though it would be nice. Need a cutting edge to give us an alternative to Giroud, but there really is nobody available.

I would like another forward. But I still think we can win the league with the strike force we have. Granted have an even better chance with a world class forward like benzema it higuain but I still think we can do it

I still think we need another striker if we're going to challenge for the league this season Giroud and Welbeck just aren't good enough. Olivier Giroud has had some good runs in the team but we need a world class striker etc Benzema Jackson Martinez Lacazette and Higuain

I think we have good striking options:
Giroud: a solid player and a consistent scorer
Welbeck: Pacey striker, who played well in the main strikers role whilst Giroud was out. He has proved with the national team that he has what it takes at the top level. Just needs to believe more in himself.
Walcott: He appears to have matured sufficiently to be played in the main striking role.
Akpom: Bags of potential and pace. Needs to play in cup games and be used as a sub when we have a good lead.
Sanchez: Can also play in the main striking role if necessary.

Hate to be picky but we don't have good striking options -
Giroud is good enough, but Welbeck/Akpom/Sanoogo are currently not good enough. Welbeck can do a decent job on the left or right but not a proper centre forward over any length of time. Walcott will score in bursts but we need Giroud cover or upgrade.

Higuain is not world class he has proven that he is not, so please stop saying he is world class, wold class strikers don't bottle it at every big game they play like he does.

I think Lacazette would be a great alternative to Giroud. Similar player to Sturridge. He's 24 years-old so it's understandable that Giroud would get the nod over him in the beginning of the season, which would allow Lazacette to get used to the physical, fast-paced game of Premier League league. I think that the only downside is Lazacette's price tag and the fact that we would deal with Lyon.

Sanchez and Walcott aren't strikers. They're best positions are out wide.
And Welbeck is injured too often.
Akpom is too inexperienced.
Sanogo... Sanogo.

I'd still go for a striker just to avoid being disgraced upfront if our strikes get sidelined through injuries

I said the above as a massive fan of Giroud by the way, but when your striker is out of form, what do you do?

That said, I trust Wenger if his plan involves Theo as a central striking option and we don't buy anyone else. Still need cover for Le Coq though.
