Hello eds, used the search function and it seems the last time lewandowski was mentioned was way back in February. read that we're interested in him and he may be available at around the £35 million mark. Is he a main target for arsenal, is lewandowski even moving during summer because this is the first I've heard of it. Would be hugely greatful for an update. Probably to crush my dreams

{Ed001's Note - Bayern are open to selling him right now, there have been reps shopping him around, that is all I know.}

Seriously? Arsenal in the mix?

{Ed002's Note - Ed001 is correct, Lewandowski is available and will move if someone pays the asking price. Arsenal's interest is elsewhere - as I have explained.}

Hey ed, if you don't mind - How come Lewandowski is available? He's only been at Bayern one season, and there aren't many better in his position, so it seems strange that Bayern would let him go?

{Ed002's Note - BM will let him go at the right price - they have another striker in mind and are beginning to position themselves for a major transition next summer. They would like to do some of that business this summer.}

002, I know you don't like going into details with specific prices, but do you know if any of the interested teams are willing to match/negotiate a little on Bayern's asking price. I'm sure you're aware who i'm mainly referring to, but in general i'm sure you'd answer? 😐

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal has not shown any interest in him. Bayern Munich will not be looking to sell cheaply.}

Will be interesting to see what happens at Bayern over the next couple seasons then! Thanks for the info ed.

Not sure where to ask this Ed, possibly the European pages but seeing as the thread is here I'll give it a shot.

Who is it that Bayern are interested in bringing in? And are these changes being made in anticipation of a new manager being brought in?

Cheers and thanks for all your work.

{Ed002's Note - Bayern are on a longer term plan to rebuild their aging squad. A new manager will arrive next summer but they are smart enough to start on working a looking to achieve a seamless transition. I don't want to get in to names, but you only need to start looking at the ages of the players to understand this isn't just a case of a striker or two.}

DO you know why Arsenal isn't interested in him? He is a great striker at a good age and would fit well with the system we play. Is it bc of asking price, off the field problems or something else? Seems strange to be seeking another striker but not being interested in a quality one like lewandowski..

{Ed002's Note - Clubs look to players who they see as beneficial to the improvement of their squad or team - not at individuals which fans generally do. Fans often struggle to see the bigger picture and flip-flop on whoever might be available. They want to see clubs spend lots of money on those they perceive to be "superstars" - but it simply doesn't work that way.}
