Hi all,

Been a while since I've posted, hope all are well!

Eds, any news if we've looked at Higuain?

He's in devastating form at the moment, and is the striker highest on my wish list - probably the most attainable too!

Would much rather have him over Morata!

Thanks!

Iraaj.

{Ed001's Note - why would he be the most attainable? He has settled in Naples and is held in almost as high an esteem as Maradona was. I wouldn't hold my breath on getting him, though Napoli would have to consider silly offers.}

Higuain would be almost perfect for us, but like Ed1 said we've got almost no chance of getting him.

Napoli don't need to sell and even if the player wanted to leave he'd still command a big fee and big wages. He'd also draw interest from Chelsea, PSG etc and we simply can't/ won't compete with them.

Many thanks for your reply Ed!

Are we not looking to pay the big fee and wages he commands if we want what he brings to the team - goals.

We're going to have to learn if we're spending £30M+ on midfielders, we're expected to pay far more for the strikers who get us the goals to win the league.

In terms of attainability, my opinion is simply I thought he'd be more likely to leave than say Aubs/ Benzema/ Lewandoski.

I'm not too keen on the idea of Morata, but that's my two cents.

And Sanogo, I think he would be the perfect fit for us. He has some pace (more than Giroud) , clinical finisher and can play with his back to goal. The thought of Ozil behind gives me goosebumps (Ozil behind any quality striker would send shivers down anyone's spine) .

{Ed001's Note - the problem is that Higuain is 28 now, which means you are buying a player that has had long term injuries right at what would be a peak age, if he had not had them. As he has had them, there is a very good chance that he is already on the decline.}

Agree. That is a Football manager signing, not a real life signing.

The premier league has become exponentially more physical over the past 5-7 years and aging players will always struggle unfortunately.

Example: Rooney with out his pace and power.
