Before I write this, I'd just like to say that a player of Suarez's quality is always welcome at Arsenal, regardless of price tag.

But am I the only one that thinks that what Suarez is doing to Liverpool is horrible (forcing a move and making it publicly known that he wants to leave) and that a personality like that is really not welcome at this club?

If we were to sign him, it won't be long before he turns his back on us and screws us over like he has done with Liverpool.

Is this a player we want to spending 45 million+ on? Quality wise definitely, but would he be good for us?

I am still of the opinion that we won't get Suarez, that hasn't changed. I'm happy that we are at least trying our best for top quality players.

Nick.

He won't sign for us.

chelsea or madrid.

we never buy a player with such baggage.

malaga gooner

{Ed022's Note - Personally, I think Suarez could have an Eric Cantona style effect on us. I also think Wenger can see something along those lines. However, I do agree that if Chelsea and Mourinho came in then he would choose them straight away...}

The sad thing is if he didn't have the baggage we would never have a chance of getting him

{Ed022's Note - Please register your name...}

But if Suarez is right and its a breach of contract its disgraceful from liverpool

watford gooner

Oh come on. We moan and moan about getting world class players, we have bid on one and were moaning about that now

We need a few nasty persons in our team,

{Ed022's Note - Completely agree. We need some Vieira style intimidation in the dressing room, in the tunnel and on the pitch. Too many "nice" footballers get pushed around by the "bigger boys"}

I've about had enough of other clubs doing the same to us and our players manufacturing moves away. We have made a mistake by offering a pound over 40m. Little bit insulting. But if he comes however he comes he would improve our team considerably.

Malaga has said this deal will not happen. YES!! This means we are guaranteed to sign him very soon.

Players at every club engineer their moves, enough of our players have done the same (Cesc, RvP, Nasri etc), I'm not loosing any sleep over Suarez forcing himself out of Liverpool. In fact I'm looking forward to the possible purchase of a Suarez shirt, it'll be the only shirt I've bought since the day we signed signed Arshavin.

Paul it's not insulting at all, it's basic business. If there is a 40m clause then going 1 pound above 100% ensures you have met it, simple as that. It's only an insult if there's no such clause and Liverpool only said 'he's worth £40m' - then bidding 40m and one pound is an insult. But Wenger and co clearly believe their is a written clause to that figure and so why would anyone bid more when nobody is competing with us? We're not legally obliged to do so.
