out of interest - who cares if we get in Champions league next season?

It makes money - great but we dontn spend it.
It attracts players - great but we don't buy them
its a chance of a trophy - get real, europa we'd have a good chance, CL with Barca/Bayern/Real/Man U - no chance.

im starting ti think that CL qualiforcation is not worth the seasonal heartattacks.

Sadly I have reached the same conclusion. It used to feel great, but now we struggle through a group phase, blow top spot, and go out to the first decent side we play. What's so great about that?

It is only of use if it means you do something because you are in it. We needed it at first as we protected our best players and paid of the Emirates, bit now? Well Santi, Jack and Kos are about the only three that would interest the top sides, and I am guessing Santi and Kos would go anyway if one of the big eight sides came in for them. Jack will last another couple of years I suspect, even if we don't qualify.

Maybe one year out would get our minds back where it needs to be. Moderate success is ultimately boring if all it does is keep repeating.

Agree.

We have no place in the competition as far as I'm concerned. Just make up the numbers

To a point but so do many of the other champion league teams then, they also just make up the numbers.

Yes we would have a good chance of winning the Europa cup but the difference in revenue's between the two comps means champions league has almost become an essential requirement to be able to pay the top wages and attract the palyers, and keep the ones you have.

Without it you have no chance of getting the players that will eventually make you serious contenders.
