I would be happy with a Ozil Mkhitaryan swap + cash deal? .

1.) 15 Dec 2017 11:28:08
We have enough injury prone players we don't need anymore. I would keep ozil and get sanchez out of the club asap. Ozil is more a team player and his assists are second to none. Sanchez is an individual and relies on himself rather than the team.

2.) 15 Dec 2017 12:14:28
By all accounts though Ozil is not going to sign a extension and is looking to move. United seem keen on Ozil and Mourinho wants rid of Mkhitaryan as he dislikes small technical players unlike Wenger who loves them so it kind of makes sense. Agree on Sanchez despite his individual talent I think he can sour the team morale and can have a negative effect on the team togetherness as a whole. Problem is with both in their last year we just ain't going to get the cash to buy qulaity replacements.

3.) 15 Dec 2017 14:40:45
I would offer 300k a week to ozil. the alternative is to go out and spend 60-70m plus on a player who will take time to settle. Imo ozil will stay if it is offered to him.
Sanchez i agree can send out negative vibes with his selfishness he needs to respect the players rather than being a one man team who will only pass to ozil. wenger needs to take him to one side and tell him he must pass when others are in a better position. i'm not going to hold my breath on that. That is why i think he should leave.

Good win in quite a feisty charity shield game. We dominated much of the game possession and territory wise especially in 2nd but still need to be creating more shooting opportunities from the dominance we have. Defence decent on open play considering two 1st choices were not playing but still don't like this zonal setup on corners still this is still an Achilles heal we need to sort out.

If we can keep Sanchez, Giroud and the Ox we look pretty good attacking wise with what we have. My main area of concern is that Ramsey and Xahka partnership I don't think it is defensively secure enough when playing the better teams. Yes Lemar would be nice to get but I don't think he actually an essential purchase with the cost need to get him over a strong physically commanding central midfielder that we need.

I get what your saying but lemar can embed in the team this season as ox and Sanchez likely to leave next season.

Also you ask for this physically commanding central midfielder. Can you name him? Is there one out there? Better than what we have? Will he suit this league?

I personally think Xhaka is settling now and his partnership with Ramsey could well blossom nicely playing with 3 at the back gives Ramsey that little freedom he's needed. Although I do think we need another centre mid as cazorla is out and we no longer have that kind of player.

2.) 06 Aug 2017 23:55:16
Elnany was great today i'd have him over Ramsey.

3.) 07 Aug 2017 13:55:47
I have always seen Ramsey and Xhaka competing for the same spot rather than playing together in CM. To be fair though they were superb together in the Cup Final, but i would like to see a more physical DM to play alongside for those more difficult away games. Always been a fan of Carvahlo but others could do the job.

4.) 07 Aug 2017 19:40:32
Carvalho is way overrated, he's slow and out of position way to often, in a more competitive league he'd be found out way too often. People always call for this physical and amazing defensive minded midfielder, when in actual fact there's not that many out there, and most aren't any better than what we have, they just look better cause they play in a league where their team probably wins 90% of its games due to lack of competitive teams.

Agree completely. All of the great teams of the Wenger era had a strong spine with the likes of Emmanuel Petit or Gilberto in the role of a physically commanded central midfielder. A player like this will allow Ramsey to do what he does best as well.

Interesting close game today that was quite competitive for a friendly. Ox gave the best performance for us but was he playing himself for the shop window to leave or into the 1st team? . Elneny played decent enough at CB and nice to see Lacazette get his first home goal.

Going forward that central midfield area is still a bit of a concern for me, yes it was only a friendly but Seville cut through that central midfield area on the break far to easily for my liking. I would still like us to get a strong powerful more disciplined central midfielder.

Odd that we won this tournament despite Seville winning both their games, silly point system. Anyway it was a good workout building up to the start of the season.

Good work out some sloppy defending in first half but control it more after the break. The Rhys Nelson played really well and was dangerous on the ball definitely deserves a first team squad number on that performance.

Kolansic was also very impressive down that left flank very involved in a few of the goals. Looks to be a complete bargain on a free when compared to what others have spent on fullbacks.

Maitland-Miles did ok but did give a ball away fro the Benfica 2nd goal, I don't think RCB is his position really.

Holding messed up for the second goal.

He played lcb mate. Not his natural position but definitely has the pace to place there.

Sanchez is as good as gone, we can only hope Liverpool maybe even Chelsea join the race that way we can eak out as much cash as we can for the transfer fee. This needs to be resolved asap as it will only effect the team morale even more than it is already.

Agree RG61. Monaco have no urgent need to sell and don’t need the money so they have all the power knowing we will be desperate if we lose Sanchez. Also with Liverpool having a interest with all that spare cash they have now it would take near 100m for sure. I am just not sure he is really worth that at this time.

We would be better using any cash we can generate from sales to get a experienced CB (Not another Young Greek boy) . Don’t forget Per is retiring and Kos as not really got long left now at the top and is a living on a injury tightrope of late. So one of them needs to be replaced at least in the near future.

Good knows what is going to happen with Ozil but I suspect he will wait it out until Summer. Cazorla looks doubtful that he will ever play for us again so there is two more top quality players that will very likely need replacing soon aswell.

I would quite happy to see the back Walcott for any half decent fee and would definitely accept the reported 13M on offer for Le Coq also.

The issue is we don’t know for sure if Wenger is going to leave at the end of season so it is difficult to see any major incoming signings by a manager who may not be sure of his own future plans at this time.

yeah need to mix it up more really as it then keeps the opposing defences guessing as to drop off or push up.

Yeah he is not asked leave but he ain't signing a contract extension either. I think he will sit it out this season and sign for City as free agent. If PSG or City are willing to offer 60Mill plus then yeah I would take it without hesitation but they ain't stupid and will offer 35mill max knowing he is on his final year. We will not accept that offer so it's stalemate. Maybe wenger thinks he can still convince him to stay further if we win the league but that is more hope than expectation.

I think in a more rigid 4-4-2 formation structure with Everton under Sam He can florish. He needs to play in a 2 up top next to a bigger hold up striker to get the best out of him I think. Wenger has just not fancied a rigid 2 up top like this for a long time so Walcott as struggled to fit in and has been forced wide to make room for others. Overall I think a good deal for all parties.

Agree that is the most important thing that needs to happen at the end of season is Wenger leaving. My fear is that even if he does finish at the end of season he will simply move up into the board/ director level and still be pulling all the strings behind the scenes and still have too much influence over team affairs with a puppet new manager (E. G Arteta) in place. The baord have not got the ballS to say enough is enough with Wenger that is the problem. We need fresh new start totally with a whole new management/ coaching team.

TBH Ozil is as good as gone aswell he is just binding his time until the end of the season to get that huge sign on fee. We have to start a re-build now. Clear out the dross even if it means short term pain in using more youths like Nelson etc. for the time being until we can get the 1st team players in we need as it may take a few transfer windows to do this re-build. For now Malcolm, Patrick-Emerick Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan in the swap for Sanchez would be a good window for us if it happens as that is Sanchez, ozil and walcott if he goes covered for this month. We we urgently need better defensive midfielders and another CB and at some point a new 1st team keeper as chech not got long left at the top.

Yeah we need to defend much better as a team and a lot is down to having no midfielders with any decent defensive mindset or intelligence to notice the dangers. The amount of times we don't track runners from midfield is shocking and this is making the back 3 or 4 look worse than it actually is. Another big wekaness is this zonal marking nonsense we insist on at defending corners nobody seems willing to go and take responsiblity and attack the ball to clear it. Everybody seems to pass the buck to somebody else. The amount of times opposing teams get free headers in our box is incredible and has to stop. You need to be hard to score againts before anything else if you want any hope of being competative at the top.

Yeah Dags Liverpool attack with real purpose with relentless energy pace, power and technique, we just pass around for the sake of it and rely on the odd succesful 1-2 out of about 20 failed to get through packed defences or a silly mistake/ slip to get our goals. Looking at the two games today make us looks light years behind Liverpool let alone City.
