Hi edd any chance of getting sakho or Toby from Ajax both in wengers price range also I would be shocked to see any of di Maria, ozil, benzema or casilias at arsenal even mata to arsenal is total bs flamini I can believe

{Ed022's Note - I said this morning I would be very surprised to see any Madrid players at Arsenal. Especially after the Higuain mess up! Toby Alderweireld is someone I rate very highly and definitely in Wenger's price range. Sakho is the same, I think he has the potential to be a monster alongside Koscielny at the back. £10m or so (maybe less in Alderweireld's case) for the players should be enough to get a deal done...}

So Ed. You wrote earlier this morning about arsenal wanting to sign 3 top quality signings and how some current first team players would then become essentially squad players (which makes complete sense btw)?

So if the top quality players aren't coming from RM (don't necessarily disagree with you), where are we likely to see these players come from?

Or rather, who potentially are these top quality players in your view? Any ideas/info?

{Ed022's Note - In an ideal (but very un-Arsenal) world then we sign Begovic who battles with Szczesny for number 1. We now have two good PL experienced GKs with Fabianski as third choice. Sakho comes in and forms a good understanding with fellow Frenchman Koscielny or Vermaelen, leaving Mertesacker to make up four very good CBs with Sagna as a fifth if necessary but ultimate RB cover with Jenks. LBs are sorted with Gibbs and Monreal. Bender comes in to be the DM we're all crying out for. He forms a partnership with Arteta/Ramsey with Wilshere Cazorla or even Rosicky (cup games etc) playing CM. We buy Lamela for the left to cover Pod and AoC and Suarez up front to create a partnership or competition for Giroud. Like I said, un-Arsenal but you get my point...}

Guys who would you prefer Toby or sakho Toby can play rb and cb sakho. Lb and cb both good players I would go for sakho because he's more experienced and defence minded but Toby is also a great player similar to vermaelen and vertongen not sure if he's better than them when they were at Ajax

Yes I get your point. Unfortunately, it's unlikely, but we never know and we can at least hope (for another 5 days or so anyway).
