Great overall performance yesterday. Everyone played well, in particular Flamini, Sagna and Cazorla. Slightly unlucky not to nick all 3 points. I was up celebrating when Podolski's shot went off Hart behind the net. I though Wnger was tactically spot on (for once). We retreated back when City had the ball and didn't leave ourselves exposed. Flamini did well enough to restrict Silva. I think if it weren't for Kompany we would have won, guy was an animal, such a good defender. Some say we were dominated in the first half, City only really had half chances tbh. Just because they were comfortable on the ball and had more possesion doesn't mean they were dominant. After the goal we were easily the better team, considering the players we were missing we did well.

Where does that draw leave us. We are still in the mix at the top. But its extremely unlikely we will get a top 2 finish. Everton have hard games against City, United and Southampton. As i'm writing this Fulham are holding them 0-0 at HT, also they play Palace and Sunderland, teams desperate for points. i'm not worried about us slipping outside the top 4. Unless we lose next weekend and have a meltdown it won't happen. FA Cup has to be priority. If we can steal 3rd place great.

Hoping Sagna not injured, noticed him hobbling a bit after he seemed to pull either his Calf or Hamstring. Any news on that? Come on Wenger put the pen to paper and sign Benzema, Gundogan and Lavezzi in summer ;)

When you say everyone do you just mean the Arsenal players that participated or are you including Giroud to?

2.) 30 Mar 2014
I think if you put Giroud in a 4-4-2 you'd see a completely different player. Our midfield is dominated by players who look to play the defence splitting pass in behind. Giroud is not the player to latch onto that, he's the one waiting in the middle after his strike partner (a Suarez type) does the hard work.

Tele.spot on, he would be a different player and incredibly his goal tally would go up

I'm not sure a 442 would make much difference to his pace, or lack of technical ability would it? It's irrelevant as we don't play that formation.
I can't deny he has a relatively good strike rate, but the chances he screws up are way to many for a first choice striker, give Podolski those chances and I think he'd convert a lot more. Bendtner would have a good goal tally if he played with a Suarez type and just sat there waiting to knock in the net.

Please don't tell me you are saying Bendtner is better than Giroud.

If so, never in a million years

Tel I think you make an excellent point mate, he has spent most of the season battling two CB's and 4 4 2 would be worth a go for the last half dozen games.
Only real problem I see is if we won them all 4 or 5 nil we would screaming why didn't we do it sooner and do nwe really need to spend in the summer :-)

I made the point on here a few weeks back that Alan Smith said how hard it was playing upfront on your own, George Graham used him for that on a few occasions, remember the flick on for Mickey Thomas at Anfield? Probably not, and that is the point many things go without being noticed.

How many remember Girouds run that stated the move for our goal yesterday, but of course he was crap eh?
