Morning all,

Just in relation to Khedira's alleged wage demands I really think that this one position is the most important for us to get right and the best ones out there are pretty much Pogba, Gundogan, Vidal, Khedira and Martinez. Not necessarily in that order.

So I'm of the opinion that for price and wages let's pay the most we can to get the best one of them we can.

Ed002 and Ed027 have said our interest lies in Khedira and other clubs, probably Chelsea and United are looking at Vidal and Pogba. One report from I think an ex Juventus director of something says there is a €50 million bid on the table for Vidal with Chelsea and PSG chasing Pogba, really wish we'd join that race :-(

Gundogan is injured and their is nothing much on Martinez but for me we have to get one of them and pay the money, that allows the likes of Sanchez, Ozil, Walcott, Giroud, Chamberlain, Campbell, Ramsey, Wilshere, Gnabry, Rosicky, Podolski and Cazorla to turn the tables on City, United and Chelsea, a must this season.

Also on the BT adverts I'm sure as well as big cars, big houses and not bad looking partners that our boys have superfast broadband including free BT Sports.

So hopefully that constant reminder will be sticking in their throats to make sure it doesn't happen again, so thanks BT.

Oh and please, please, please can the new additions to our medical team work wonders this season and keep us at the bottom of the Physioroom league table whilst the boys are fighting it out at the top of the other one.

{Ed025's Note - its easy to say just throw money at the problem jen, do you really want arsenal to become a PSG, chelsea or city?...arsenal are a proper club in my eyes and are richer for it, spending say £50m on a vidal or a pogba will bring its own problems, like how will ozil, sanchez, et al feel when this new player is on double, or for some others treble their wages?. for me it could cause resentment and unrest, for me any player who is demanding more than the club can afford, and is holding the club to ransom should be swerved..but thats just my opinion girl..

Sorry Ed025,

Wasn't my intention to give the impression that money should be no object.

It's in my opinion the most important position for us to fill and I know we won't be buying the likes of Pogba or Vidal as much as I might like them here but if it takes the reported £14,000 difference in wages for Khedira then I think it would benefit us hugely to make that step.

I know wages are now beyond ridiculous for a lot of players across the globe and every club has a top earner and that will bring it's own problems with others wanting more but we are not talking Rooney wages who isn't even worth a third of that.

It's an unfortunate fact that players do to a large degree have the upper hand and I know that if Arsene doesn't want to pay the amount Khedira is allegedly after then he won't and he'll look elsewhere.

I would just like us to get the best option we can to fill that position ed. :-)

{Ed025's Note - its a difficult one jen and there is no easy answer, but for me the club has got it just about right with a wage cap, if as reported that is £130,000 per week, then my stance to players would be...if you want the honour and privilege to play for arsenal then that is the top wage, arteta took a pay cut when he left everton and i respect him for that, maybe we should have buckets at the ground for supporters to donate money at each game to top up the players wages.. :)

I think that arsenal have a wage structure and I don't think that will be exceeded. If khedira won't sign for a salary that is within our budget, that's that. I won't hold it against him, he's within his rights to want a certain amount of money, but us paying it is a different thing.

I don't want us to just throw money at them. It's just not a road I think arsenal should go down. And to be honest, I don't think it's a road that we will ever go down with the current management and boardroom.

{Ed025's Note - i hope you right CS, i think arsenal have earned a lot of respect from other supporters for being a "proper club", and i know it can be frustrating at times but i really do believe they are doing the right thing mate..

Absolutely fantastic post Jenjen but an equally fantastic reply by Ed025.

2 totally opposite opinions but both very credible.

That's why I love this site.

I respect the fact that the club don't give in to wage demands When players are earning such insane sums and fans are screaming for big names it must be so tempting to give up the wage control and just pay whatever is asked for
I would rather sign a player who is hungry for success than a player hungry for a fat pay cheque ( arteta taking a pay cut was an immense sign that he wanted trophies more than cash )

{Ed025's Note - i agree BDG..

Thanks for the replies ed025, it's hugely difficult and finances is Arsene's big thing it's just the position we've all been hoping desperately to get filled by a top quality player.

In relation to the wages Pogba and Vidal will probably get from Chelsea, PSG or United it will no doubt dwarf what Khedira is asking.

Hopefully Arsene, Poldi, Ozil and Mertesacker are working their magic on him :-)

If not, maybe it will be Spyder after all Dags ;-)

{Ed025's Note - if he ends up not coming for the sake of a fraction of a fantastic salary jen...then i say good riddance!..if a player is committed enough to join a great club like arsenal without holding them to ransom, that is the type of character i want at my club, and yes he would be a great addition, but not at any cost for me queen..

When you are talking about this weekly salarys. Is it before taxes or after? Marca writes that Khedira wants 7 milion pounds per year. Is this after taxes or before? And how much in England do you pay taxes? Swedish supporter!

{Ed025's Note - the top tax rate in england is 45% jonas, but a lot of that is reclaimed back in expenses and allowances, salaries are before tax mate, so its really hard for them to manage...my heart bleeds.. :)
