I want to stir up some late night debate, I don't rate diaby, it's very admirable what he's done but he is not a very good footballer. Add to that the obvious (he never feckin plays) and what've you got? A player half as good as say huddlestone or Diame and who players 35 fewer games per season. prove me wrong argue back please I beg it of you. Would be interested to hear the Ed's opinion on the guy as well

{Ed027's Note - watch his performances at the beginning of 2012/13 season and tell me he's half as good as Huddlestone. When fit he's a top player, but we only get 5 games a season out of him. His performances at Anfield and Etihad spring to mind.

Was a monster for us at Anfield. That said however he ain't a DM and Ramsey and he would be in direct competition for places if we ended up bringing in Bender/Khedira/Schneiderlin (who need to start to give balance). Would be a great option to have if he could stay fit for more than 5 minutes

Diaby, healthy, would vie for the best central mid in the world

It's not even a question

There's a reason the French team waited till the last possible minute to see if he was healthy

Injured a lot, yes

But the dude is pure class when healthy

Sorry Saint but Diaby is far from a bad player. he's a great player, a very injury prone one!

Wengers patience/stubborness/genius/loyalty has paid off before, I would not bet against Diaby coming back and having a great 2 months :D

He is an awesome player when fit. just never fit enough

His technical ability, tactical awareness, work rate, sprinting, passing and etc can be the best in the world and still it does not matter to me. Durability and physical strength is also an attribute necessary for any footballer specially for one playing in EPL. As a human a supporter I wish he never gets injured again but its obvious he cannot make a full recovery. Even if he gets absolutely fit after two years of not playing his basic playing quality has dropped significantly.

Saint.
You should have stopped after saying you don't rate him. After that you havnt justified the statement. Don't cherry pick performances you may have seen and say he's poor. He is a great player on his day. If he stayed fit there's a good chance Aaron Ramsey May not have got his chance

Oh come off it, what about his graveyard shifts out left a couple years back? The guys a waste of training facilities. I've already said I liked his performance against liverpool, but that's it, one good performance against a liverpool team who were horrendous on that day. I'm telling you I've watched so many times at the emirates and on telly and just thought this bloke is useless, terrible passing, slow to control the ball, lost in terms of defensive positioning. I think you lot have been made week by his absence and are holding on to his rare good performances as an indicator for the player he could be when he is in fact not that player.
