Just a suggestion, and its only my opinion.

One game into the season and the 'Giroud is not good enough for us' brigade are out in force.

He has been with us 2 years and has improved.
17 goals in his first year and 22 in his second.

He came from France, has to aclimatise to the pace of the English league, has had his off-field problems (no sympathy) and pretty much leads the line alone, game after game after game.

Of course there are better strikers in the world, but they play for better teams than us.

Let's judge him at the end of the season.

Plus Dags these better strikers are big big money and big wages .

I wonder if the fans had been asked 2 years ago would you be happy with his goal return and assists the answer would have been thumbs up

I think Giroud is fine and can't wait to see a front free of Walcott, Giroud & Sanchez.

I agree that some of the criticism of Giroud has been out of order. He is a good striker, scoring 22 goals last term in all competitions.

However he scored 16 in the league. That is not enough to be classed as the main striker for a top team. We were in every competition last season, with the amount of chances we create, 22 goals is an "ok" contribution.

Good point made Robbie with regards Walcott, Giroud will benefit from him playing .

I am looking forward to having a fully fit squad to pick from

Alexis, Walcott, ozil, Ox, ramsey, Wilshire .

I don't think there's any anti giroud brigade. I've not got a problem with giroud, in fact I quite like him. But they're more than entitled to judge him by the end of his second season. That's more than enough time to gain an opinion, and plenty of time to settle in. So to me seems a bit silly to say 'wait until the end of the season' when they obviously waited until the end of last season. I think they're more than entitled to have already passed judgement, even if their opinion is different to yours.

Yep, agree with that CS .

22 goals ain't bad IMO, he has also has 24 assists in his 2 seasons, that ain't bad either .

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Sorry to be boring but to also add Giroud played 51 matches for us last season, we relied on him so much without giving him a break.

CS I agree with you. There's no point judging him at the end of next season. It's time to judge him on last season, but seriously you must have a stick gone missing some where.

Nobody has said the Giroud detractors aren't entitled to they're opinion. Least of all dags.

He made a statement based on his opinion and now we're discussing it. Nobody is challenging anybodies entitlement to express themselves. People are challenging what they express, it's the root of discussion.

I'm not having a go mate but I don't no how you read some of these posts because you pop up with the same statement, lambaste the posters with a view that seems to say you're right to an opinion is being restricted by them and skirt off.
To borrow your term "pathetic"
