Harsh words. I only bet with friends on rare occasions when I am confident of something football related. This was to prove a point that I am that confident that we won't sell to city. We all gamble in life. Even keeping your money safe in your bank account is a gamble as you lose money to inflation. It's about how good the odds are. If you bet against a gambling company then sure its often stupid as they stack odds against you. In this case though I am more than 50% certain that we won't sell to city so a 1 to 1 wager is economically sound and far from moronic.
