Can everyone please just stop saying 'war chest'!
Only mildly less annoying than our inactivity this window!
{Ed022's Note - It's think it's more of a "battle side-boob..."}
Ha, guess that joke was a bit lost on you Celestyn?!
Sorry if a dumb question, but do the club signing the player on loan (man u) pay the loan fee to the owning club (monaco) AND the players wages?
Or is the loan fee like a compensation to the owning club, who continue to pay the wages?
{Ed002's Note - It is case-by-case depending on the player and the club. The owning may contribute part or all of the wages in some cases. In the case of Falcao Manchester United pay everything.}
Well they paid £40m (£50m?) for Luiz in the first place, so they obviously do lack common sense!
Wasn't it more that he said he didn't feel ready to step up to a 'big' club? Possibly the other bender, but rings a bell?
With a full squad, is he likely to feature that much? Mainly cameos off the bench I suspect, so I think game time is the priority. Looks a fantastic propect from games last year, and age group internationals.
Maybe an option to recall in Jan window if injuries in the squad?
With Ramsay - although playing poorly lately, would a home game against bottom club be good for him? Pull a few string, nick a goal perhaps, confidence restored?
He is definitely a confidence player

apart from when we bought Sanchez though, right?

Agree with G62 - medals count.
RVP - yes, only one good season, but that season wasnt he golden boot, and won the PL - exactly the reason he stated as wanted to leave us, as felt he wouldn't achieve it with us.
Im sure he'll look at the move as a success unfortunately.
Overall very good squad.
We'll get goals from all over, and midfield, even withouth 'powerhouse' CDM, can still compete with any in the league.
However, having to rely on Monreal/Flamini as back up CB is far from ideal. Both of these players are only the back up in their ACTUAL positions, let aone a non-prefered one.
Man U, City, L'pool, Chelsea front lines would be licking their lips at that! Get the bubble wrap out for Mert & Kos!
One the 'masterstroke' comment; yes, getting £15m for injury prone player in the final year of the contract is great, IF we were a club in financial difficulty (we are not) OR if that money if used to replace we better. Which if saying TV5 was overvalued @ 15m, we should have been able to do.
We did not. Now left very thin at the bad, I would deem this possibly the worst aspect of our transfer window.
