The Arsenal game against Leiscter, was frustrating to watch as it clearly demonstrated how unprepared we were in the circumstances of not having our cb (kos, mert) . Of course, considering the factors how in the past years, our debuts have been shocking, against liverpool, west ham etc. Its an improvement. Although Wenger has been annoying me, we are in a desperate stage to sign a new cb, preferably i want Manolas from Roma, excellent defender with years of experience, internationally and generally. Plus with Van Dijk injured and around the cost of 40 mill, and heavy influences with Liverpool, it would be tougher. Allso why wasnt Callum Chambers not playing, he has great experience as a cb, idk. Furthermore, we need someone to strengthen our mid, i think we should go all in for Lucas Moura or Asensio, Lemar was too slow, Wenger should have gone all in from the beginning. We need to pick up our game, because teams like Man united, Liverpool, city and Chelsea are not going to take us for granted with defensive error.

We went into the match without; Koscielny (suspended) , Gabriel (recovering from injury) , Mertesacker (injured - deep cut) , Mustafi and Chambers (international commitment so back to pre-season training late, so not match fit) , We were down to one fit inexperienced CB, Holding. We had to make do with 2 LB's playing at CB. During pre-season Wenger realised that there may be a problem and experimented with Elneny and Maitlan-Niles at CB. With Coquelin recovering from injury Wenger decided on using Elneny in a DM role. With 6 CB's for 3 positions, plus Monreal and Kolasinac who can fill in as a left-sided (of a back three) CB's it makes little sense to purchase another CB. though, contracdicting myself, I would like to see us sign Van Dijk, as Mertesacker retires at the end of the season and Chambers is available for sale. With Southamton playing hardball with Van Dijk, I'm not sure he could have been purchased in time for the Leicester match. For the Stoke match I expect Mustafi, Mertsacker and Chambers will be available, whilst Koscielny comes back against Liverpool and Gabriel probably in late Sept/ Oct. Coquelin will also be available against Stoke. That will shore up our idefence. The positive thing against Stoke was the offensive side of our game, where we scored 4 and could have had more. We didn't appear to miss Sanchez, with Welbeck and Lacazette linking well.
