Have we dropped all our interest in Sergej Milinković-Savić?

{Ed002's Note - Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (CM/AM/DM) Will be offered a new contract - if he refuses, which he will, they will only then look to sell. Juventus are very keen as they look to replenish their midfield, but Lazio will seek a huge fee which won't suit Juventus, but realistically his value has halved as he will only have 12 months left on his contract by the summer. A Tonali replacement for Inter. There was also a discussion with Chelsea but they have other targets right now. Inter will look to horsetrade. Arsenal offer an option but he would likely be an alternative to Declan Rice. Manchester United cannot be rulled out. West Ham and Newcastle will offer less tempting solutions to the player.}

Ed002, why is Newcastle seen as a less tempting solution?

{Ed002's Note - Because they do not have the high-profile of other clubs and need to sell their project to players.}

Is selling the project harder because they're trying to stay on the right side of FFP? I remember when Man City and Chelsea were first taken over, they really splashed the cash. Newcastle don't seem to be doing that.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with FFP.}

I would assume its the perceived prestige of the club outside England and also the location ( not as attractive as London and Manchester to the rest of the world)

I would assume players from other countries grow up talking about Mau Utd, Chelsea, Juve, etc.

That's not me trying to be disrespectful about Newcastle just my guess on why it would be a harder sell to players.
