I'm not trying to put a downer on things but after 17 games:

2018/19 - 34 points
2017/18 - 30 ponts
2016/17 - 34 points
2015/16 - 37 points

We're there or therabouts where we've been for the previous 4 seasons. No better and no worse really.

1.) 21 Dec 2018 04:23:06
At least we are on an upward trend from last year.

2.) 21 Dec 2018 09:30:16
I'm not sure that's how trends work Steve 😂

At this point, I'm not saying change wasn't needed. I'm not denying the fact that some players appear to be putting in a slightly harder shift. I'm simply saying that the change in manager hasn't yet changed our points tally, which is what matters at the end of a season.

3.) 21 Dec 2018 09:50:49
We have stopped the downward trend that's for sure
37
34
30
What would it be this season without change 28?

This is the toughest premier league top 4 battle I can ever remember, long gone are the days where United Chelsea Arsenal were sinply formalities and the only question was who would join them.
Our problem was we became subconsciously top 4 content and happy as we were which allowed others to catch then overtake and leave us behind.

4.) 21 Dec 2018 16:54:49
i don't think as fans we were subconsiouly content with top 4, medeocraty has been drummed in to us! its only the last couple years where we would really appreciate a top 4 finish as an achievement. Before that we always thought we had a chance of winning at the start of the season. it was only a few seasons ago we were having debates about whether we could win the league with giroud as our main striker, not just make top 4, top 4 was a given and since we've had sanchez and now lacca and auba all much better strikers in a goal scoring sence, but ironically our teams and points gained have declined.

5.) 21 Dec 2018 18:09:08
Eden, we are scoring as many as Liverpool but letting in as many as the teams in the relegation zone. Tells you where we are struggling.

6.) 21 Dec 2018 18:35:58
Scrapping the bottom of the barrel there g62 by referring to that as a "trend". The reality is we're a couple of games better AND worse off than we have been in the previous 3 seasons.

I concede that we need 2 or 3 seasons to evaluate how much better off we are under current management. I'm not rushing to judgement either way, because on the face of things, we're exactly where we have been (on average) .

7.) 21 Dec 2018 19:44:24
What is a trend Sharpie?
A pattern on a grath that is either consistently stagnant upward or downward.
It's way to early for Arsenal under Dick to establish any sort of real trend of its own.
But the figure you provided from before Dick arrived unquestionably show a year on year downward trend.
37 34 30 speaks for itself, we were going nowhere at best and backwards at worst
Let's look again in May because then we can make a better comparison between Dicks first full season and Arsenes 20th 21st and 22nd seasons.

8.) 21 Dec 2018 20:09:06
You've answered your own question mate: "It's way to early for Arsenal under Dick to establish any sort of real trend of its own. " So while I am fully aware of what a trend is, I wouldn't be calling that a trend.

I wasn't the one that brought trend into the conversation. I am simply stating that we are no better or no worse off than we have been in the previous 3 seasons.

I see people on this site, prior to our last 2 defeats, lauding Emery for bringing the best out of the players. After the aforementioned two defeats it's all, "it's because he's having to play Wenger's dregs". I'm just adding a little perspective.

9.) 21 Dec 2018 21:01:00
And it's very fair prospective too mate but it's almost impossible to compare 4 months work next to 22 years fairly, I've always said in 3 years we will all know own if Dick is capable of getting us back to where we would like to be.
It's only his fantastically positive start that has sent pulses racing and excitement levels through the roof again.

10.) 22 Dec 2018 17:30:53
Well he isn't working with George Grahams dreggs. He has been in the job 4 month and you can't compare it to someone who had built his team for years and couldn't in the end muster a performance against top four teams, arguably Dick is doing that after 4 months, with wengers dreggs.

11.) 23 Dec 2018 04:27:21
Steve, be pedantic if you must mate, but don't expect any rational person to buy the drivel you're selling.

When it suits, "Emery is getting the best out of the players. He's amazing""

Lose a couple of games and it's back to, "Oh, it's because he's playing with Wenger's dregs. "

Maybe it's just me, but I find this highly hypocritical and disrespectful of a manager that served our club for over two decades. At some point even you have to stop blaming him for the performances of this team.

12.) 23 Dec 2018 14:55:37
Some sing we've got our Arsenal back
While others feel their Arsenal stopped existing last May.

We have always been Arsenal football club but for a while there we seemed to morth into Arsene football club and there were quite a lot of people who liked it that way and are now struggling to identify with an Arsenal that doesn't involve Arsene as their club anymore.
just as some people lost all interest in Arsenal and football completely because of Arsene remaining in charge some have and will drift away because he's no longer on charge.
Some wounds take time to fully heal and although the Arsene in out war is over its going to take time for grudges to be forgotten both ways.

13.) 23 Dec 2018 17:08:12
Sharpe, i'm not hypocritical or disrespectful, i say it as i see it. Dick is working with and trying too correct the obvious wrongs that every man and his dog could see was wrong with the players and the way we played under wenger, that's pretty much fact. Until we get rid of the wenger lagacy we won't see the full Unai Emery team. It still has wenger influences in it good and bad.

14.) 23 Dec 2018 18:15:11
Also Sharpe, i'm not sure i'm selling anything, just having an opinion. Some may disagree with me and that's fine. No that's life.

This doesn't look good for our Benz push. Not entirely sure who This Jeinny lass is except what it says on her twitter profile:

https://twitter.com/Jeinnylizarazo

{Ed001's Note - was there something other than pictures to see there???? Damn was I meant to read something?}

1.) 11 Aug 2015 12:22:23
I just can't see it happening. Benzema is at Real Madrid who have a high chance of La Liga title and no doubt minimum of a semi final in the Champions League. He also has his France spot to hold down and playing at Real Madrid he will get his chance even though people chirp up that Rafa will play Bale or Ronaldo as the out and out striker leaving Benzema out, can't see that if Benzema plays and plays well he`ll keep his spot surely? Now if he decides to sign for Arsenal his situation changes he now has to adapt to the EPL and all the pressure to perform instantly to win over the Gooners and to hold down a France strikers spot for Euros2016. Of the two choices staying at Real looks more comfortably but hey what do I know.....money may talk but can anyone see Wenger lumping it on Benzema or another top top striker like Lewandowski, Higuain or Llorente? Arsene pays what he feels the price the player is worth and i'm sorry todays market is still on the rise for quality. Keep the faith Gooners we could still have Lord Bedtner or Sanogo within the squad. COYG

2.) 11 Aug 2015 12:26:06
LOL Ed001 - Okay, I'll admit I spent a bit of the afternoon looking at "pictures" ... but then the wife came home and I was forced to read ....

{Ed001's Note - I never even noticed the writing.}

3.) 11 Aug 2015 12:33:07
Sooo I did not get to the reading part on her Twitter , fantastic photos but...

4.) 11 Aug 2015 14:53:04
I'm in love

5.) 11 Aug 2015 14:34:51
Ed001 ... didn't you JUST get married? tut tut

{Ed001's Note - not yet mate, just got engaged, so it is ok. Well so long as the missus never finds out anyway ;o)

6.) 11 Aug 2015 16:23:12
Ed001, I'm sure Ed002 will tell her. Women tend to stick together when it comes to wandering eyes. Anywho ... never really expected this post to become a Jeinny lovefest. It was honestly posted for the editorial.

Think I'll go have another "read" now ... you know, just in case I missed anything on the first go.

{Ed001's Note - luckily Ed002 is away on holibobs at the moment....}

7.) 11 Aug 2015 17:31:21
They all look like that after 12 pints but a word of warning don't do a sleep over. One way by night and completely and totally unrecognisable way by day.

8.) 11 Aug 2015 23:20:19
i love how twitter works and all these closet ITK;s who come out with their deadline ultimatums and unlimited medicals.

i do use twitter but for the sake of sanity mostly for banter and less for transfer.

but i did see some italian journalist tweet being retweetd.

not a direct quote but something like this.

tweet 1 : benzema to sign on sunday or monday

tweet 2 : benzema in london for medical

tweet 3 : benzema deal agreed ( one week after he was to sign)

tweet 4 : been told that man city and bayern want benzema

tweet 5 : benzema wants arsenal and will have talks with guardiola and wenger

tweet 6 : wenger has spoken to benzema and its up to arsenal to pay

well you get the drift.

what i'm wondering is how does he know soo quickly what wenger and benzema discussed? does wenger tweet secretly?

maybe wengers handle is notarsenewenger? and benzema is notbenzema?

its just a shame to see soo many headless chickens being directed to the slaughter house.

I'm still finding it hard to believe Spurs Pochettino. After all he'd achieved.
He was Premier League Manager of the Month 4 times in 5 years, for Christ sake!

1.) 26 Apr 2020 19:57:48
Agree Sharpe he was average at best, don't forget he had a very good squad to play with and won nothing.

2.) 26 Apr 2020 20:14:03
Hey Bouncer, how she hanging?

3.) 26 Apr 2020 20:55:33
Hanging well Malaga, out of work and spending 24 hours a day in bed with Mrs raver. I don't need to go out for my 1 hour exercise mate😎.

24 Apr 2020 14:41:19
Spurs have donated their trophies from the last 10 years to be melted down to make much needed medical equipment for the fight against Coronavirus.

An NHS Spokesperson said. "What a fantastic gesture and I'm sure the tweezers will come in handy"

1.) 24 Apr 2020 16:02:32
Ideal for getting splinters out of unicorn horns and dragons wings.

2.) 25 Apr 2020 10:52:44
Your 2 Mickey mouse cups from the last 10 years will help the NHS Sharpe😁.

3.) 25 Apr 2020 13:44:17
You call 3 FA Cups since May 2014 Mickey Mouse? Oh dear.

4.) 25 Apr 2020 18:04:00
Yes the FA cup is no bigger than the league cup these days, it lost its spark about 10 years ago.

5.) 25 Apr 2020 19:23:17
You've got to admit though, they're definitely a couple of characters.

6.) 25 Apr 2020 19:49:17
Until Spurs win it, then it will be bigger than the Champions League. Right raver?

7.) 26 Apr 2020 10:40:54
Right now the league cup is the very top trophy in football as it's the one and only that is guaranteed to have a winners name on it for the 2019/ 20 season.
Just goes to show that every dog really does have it's day, who knew :-)

14 Apr 2020 07:39:24
Tottenham Hotspur FC medical team have offered NHS the use of their trophy room. They say it is a fit for purpose self isolation unit.

1.) 17 Apr 2020 14:02:02
Yes they will find plenty of room with 2 league titles, 8 FA cups, 5 league cups, 3 European cups not bad for a empty room.

2.) 17 Apr 2020 18:42:59
Haha raver, how many of them was in the last 35 years.

3.) 17 Apr 2020 21:04:21
Only 3 Malaga mate😁.

09 Sep 2019 09:34:43
Saw some stats today which I thought I'd share. Please keep in mind that for some teams, their points weren't picked up in the EPL.

Based on the last 15 matches these are points per game (worked out to an average) :
Man City: 2.60
Liverpool: 2.53
Wolves: 2.07
Sheff Utd: 1.93
Aston Villa: 1.87
Everton: 1.87
Leicester: 1.73
Norwich: 1.67
Arsenal: 1.60

Last 5 spaces are, Bournemouth, Tottenham, Burnley, Watford, and Brighton, respectively.

Things look a little diferent for Arsenal based on last 6 games:

Liverpool: 2.33
Man City: 2.00
Arsenal: 1.83

The last 5 look pretty much the same except Brighton are just out and Norwich are in the last 5 spaces.

Our points per game has only went up in our last 7 games, prior to which we were pretty much a mid-table team.

1.) 09 Sep 2019 16:36:15
That run at the end of last season was shocking and against poor opposition, top 4 was in our own hands and we made a complete hash of it.

24 Aug 2019 20:14:55
At least I was right about Liverpool only scoring 3 goals.

1.) 24 Aug 2019 20:33:22
You should have gone each way, spare a thought for 733 who went 93p all in on your recommendation Sharpie.

2.) 24 Aug 2019 20:36:33
I thought we played ok but the usual clumbsy mistakes creep in.

3.) 24 Aug 2019 20:43:44
Fantastic result Sharpe, you played 2 crappy teams and got carried away yet again and now been brought back down to earth after playing a brilliant side, when I have my face smotherd in huge boobys later I'll be thinking of you depressed up in trainspotting land😁.

4.) 24 Aug 2019 20:58:32
and at least utd are even worse! :)

5.) 24 Aug 2019 21:06:33
Raver, I'd like you to show me a single post where I have been "carried away". And unlike you, win or lose, football doesn't depress me. At the end of the day, it's a game, and while I like winning, I don't like winning at the expense of looking stupid - kinda like you do on a regular basis with you Levy/ Poch out rants.

Oh and I had no idea you were still breastfeeding! That answers a lot of questions #golfcartbhoyinadress.

6.) 24 Aug 2019 21:24:22
G62, you're right, I should apologise to 337.

337, I'm sorry you lost 93p mate, I really am. In my case, I doubled down before I took my nap and stuck another fiver on. And if anyone is interested, it was a lovely nap.

7.) 24 Aug 2019 22:51:22

Mala, here's a treat for you mate

1/ 2 cup organic flour
1/ 2 cup organic rolled oats
1 jar strained carrot baby food
1 jar chicken baby food

Mix into a dough, roll out to 1/ 2 inch thickness, cut into squares, and bake in oven at 175C for 30 minutes.

Made this for my pup but had some the other night when I got the munchies. Quite tasty.

What?

{Ed001's Note - old TV show called Sorry. Ronnie Corbett played a single man in his 40s still living at home with his mother. For some reason I am often reminded of the show when on this site, as someone on here reminds me of Timothy, I just can't think who it could be...…}
