Hoping these Tammy Abraham rumours aren't true. If he can't secure a spot as a forward at the current Chelsea, I'm not sure he's good enough. They haven't exactly got a prolific goal scorer.

{Ed002's Note - Tammy Abraham (S) Was asked to sign a contract extension but is being a bit of a prima donna and a bitch which the club won't tolerate so the club will let him leave in the summer. Potential option for Wolves and Aston Villa but both have preferred options. West Ham have a huge list of potential striker options and have repeatedly failed to resolve their issue - they may come in to play. Borussia Dortmund asked Chelsea about his availability but it seems unlikely even though they have missed out on their preferred option. Newcastle, Arsenal and Milan may provide a wildcard options but Milan has preferred targets. Is being offered around.}

1.) 16 Jul 2021 03:40:42
Rsharpe, as a Chelsea supporter I do think he’s been underused. He’s certainly not the finished article, but he does score goals (even if it takes 3-4 chances) he was our top scorer this year after a pretty decent last year and a great year in the championship.

2.) 16 Jul 2021 00:16:41
Reminds me a little of Welbeck. What do you think his level is Ed? Mid-table-ish?

{Ed002's Note - Ideal for Arsenal then.}

3.) 16 Jul 2021 11:44:41
Behave Ed we're currently joint top!

20 Dec 2018 22:38:51
I'm not trying to put a downer on things but after 17 games:

2018/19 - 34 points
2017/18 - 30 ponts
2016/17 - 34 points
2015/16 - 37 points

We're there or therabouts where we've been for the previous 4 seasons. No better and no worse really.

1.) 21 Dec 2018 04:23:06
At least we are on an upward trend from last year.

2.) 21 Dec 2018 09:30:16
I'm not sure that's how trends work Steve 😂

At this point, I'm not saying change wasn't needed. I'm not denying the fact that some players appear to be putting in a slightly harder shift. I'm simply saying that the change in manager hasn't yet changed our points tally, which is what matters at the end of a season.

3.) 21 Dec 2018 09:50:49
We have stopped the downward trend that's for sure
What would it be this season without change 28?

This is the toughest premier league top 4 battle I can ever remember, long gone are the days where United Chelsea Arsenal were sinply formalities and the only question was who would join them.
Our problem was we became subconsciously top 4 content and happy as we were which allowed others to catch then overtake and leave us behind.

4.) 21 Dec 2018 16:54:49
i don't think as fans we were subconsiouly content with top 4, medeocraty has been drummed in to us! its only the last couple years where we would really appreciate a top 4 finish as an achievement. Before that we always thought we had a chance of winning at the start of the season. it was only a few seasons ago we were having debates about whether we could win the league with giroud as our main striker, not just make top 4, top 4 was a given and since we've had sanchez and now lacca and auba all much better strikers in a goal scoring sence, but ironically our teams and points gained have declined.

5.) 21 Dec 2018 18:09:08
Eden, we are scoring as many as Liverpool but letting in as many as the teams in the relegation zone. Tells you where we are struggling.

6.) 21 Dec 2018 18:35:58
Scrapping the bottom of the barrel there g62 by referring to that as a "trend". The reality is we're a couple of games better AND worse off than we have been in the previous 3 seasons.

I concede that we need 2 or 3 seasons to evaluate how much better off we are under current management. I'm not rushing to judgement either way, because on the face of things, we're exactly where we have been (on average) .

7.) 21 Dec 2018 19:44:24
What is a trend Sharpie?
A pattern on a grath that is either consistently stagnant upward or downward.
It's way to early for Arsenal under Dick to establish any sort of real trend of its own.
But the figure you provided from before Dick arrived unquestionably show a year on year downward trend.
37 34 30 speaks for itself, we were going nowhere at best and backwards at worst
Let's look again in May because then we can make a better comparison between Dicks first full season and Arsenes 20th 21st and 22nd seasons.

8.) 21 Dec 2018 20:09:06
You've answered your own question mate: "It's way to early for Arsenal under Dick to establish any sort of real trend of its own. " So while I am fully aware of what a trend is, I wouldn't be calling that a trend.

I wasn't the one that brought trend into the conversation. I am simply stating that we are no better or no worse off than we have been in the previous 3 seasons.

I see people on this site, prior to our last 2 defeats, lauding Emery for bringing the best out of the players. After the aforementioned two defeats it's all, "it's because he's having to play Wenger's dregs". I'm just adding a little perspective.

9.) 21 Dec 2018 21:01:00
And it's very fair prospective too mate but it's almost impossible to compare 4 months work next to 22 years fairly, I've always said in 3 years we will all know own if Dick is capable of getting us back to where we would like to be.
It's only his fantastically positive start that has sent pulses racing and excitement levels through the roof again.

10.) 22 Dec 2018 17:30:53
Well he isn't working with George Grahams dreggs. He has been in the job 4 month and you can't compare it to someone who had built his team for years and couldn't in the end muster a performance against top four teams, arguably Dick is doing that after 4 months, with wengers dreggs.

11.) 23 Dec 2018 04:27:21
Steve, be pedantic if you must mate, but don't expect any rational person to buy the drivel you're selling.

When it suits, "Emery is getting the best out of the players. He's amazing""

Lose a couple of games and it's back to, "Oh, it's because he's playing with Wenger's dregs. "

Maybe it's just me, but I find this highly hypocritical and disrespectful of a manager that served our club for over two decades. At some point even you have to stop blaming him for the performances of this team.

12.) 23 Dec 2018 14:55:37
Some sing we've got our Arsenal back
While others feel their Arsenal stopped existing last May.

We have always been Arsenal football club but for a while there we seemed to morth into Arsene football club and there were quite a lot of people who liked it that way and are now struggling to identify with an Arsenal that doesn't involve Arsene as their club anymore.
just as some people lost all interest in Arsenal and football completely because of Arsene remaining in charge some have and will drift away because he's no longer on charge.
Some wounds take time to fully heal and although the Arsene in out war is over its going to take time for grudges to be forgotten both ways.

13.) 23 Dec 2018 17:08:12
Sharpe, i'm not hypocritical or disrespectful, i say it as i see it. Dick is working with and trying too correct the obvious wrongs that every man and his dog could see was wrong with the players and the way we played under wenger, that's pretty much fact. Until we get rid of the wenger lagacy we won't see the full Unai Emery team. It still has wenger influences in it good and bad.

14.) 23 Dec 2018 18:15:11
Also Sharpe, i'm not sure i'm selling anything, just having an opinion. Some may disagree with me and that's fine. No that's life.

11 Aug 2015 09:26:32
This doesn't look good for our Benz push. Not entirely sure who This Jeinny lass is except what it says on her twitter profile:

{Ed001's Note - was there something other than pictures to see there???? Damn was I meant to read something?}

1.) 11 Aug 2015 12:22:23
I just can't see it happening. Benzema is at Real Madrid who have a high chance of La Liga title and no doubt minimum of a semi final in the Champions League. He also has his France spot to hold down and playing at Real Madrid he will get his chance even though people chirp up that Rafa will play Bale or Ronaldo as the out and out striker leaving Benzema out, can't see that if Benzema plays and plays well he`ll keep his spot surely? Now if he decides to sign for Arsenal his situation changes he now has to adapt to the EPL and all the pressure to perform instantly to win over the Gooners and to hold down a France strikers spot for Euros2016. Of the two choices staying at Real looks more comfortably but hey what do I may talk but can anyone see Wenger lumping it on Benzema or another top top striker like Lewandowski, Higuain or Llorente? Arsene pays what he feels the price the player is worth and i'm sorry todays market is still on the rise for quality. Keep the faith Gooners we could still have Lord Bedtner or Sanogo within the squad. COYG

2.) 11 Aug 2015 12:26:06
LOL Ed001 - Okay, I'll admit I spent a bit of the afternoon looking at "pictures" ... but then the wife came home and I was forced to read ....

{Ed001's Note - I never even noticed the writing.}

3.) 11 Aug 2015 12:33:07
Sooo I did not get to the reading part on her Twitter , fantastic photos but...

4.) 11 Aug 2015 14:53:04
I'm in love

5.) 11 Aug 2015 14:34:51
Ed001 ... didn't you JUST get married? tut tut

{Ed001's Note - not yet mate, just got engaged, so it is ok. Well so long as the missus never finds out anyway ;o)

6.) 11 Aug 2015 16:23:12
Ed001, I'm sure Ed002 will tell her. Women tend to stick together when it comes to wandering eyes. Anywho ... never really expected this post to become a Jeinny lovefest. It was honestly posted for the editorial.

Think I'll go have another "read" now ... you know, just in case I missed anything on the first go.

{Ed001's Note - luckily Ed002 is away on holibobs at the moment....}

7.) 11 Aug 2015 17:31:21
They all look like that after 12 pints but a word of warning don't do a sleep over. One way by night and completely and totally unrecognisable way by day.

8.) 11 Aug 2015 23:20:19
i love how twitter works and all these closet ITK;s who come out with their deadline ultimatums and unlimited medicals.

i do use twitter but for the sake of sanity mostly for banter and less for transfer.

but i did see some italian journalist tweet being retweetd.

not a direct quote but something like this.

tweet 1 : benzema to sign on sunday or monday

tweet 2 : benzema in london for medical

tweet 3 : benzema deal agreed ( one week after he was to sign)

tweet 4 : been told that man city and bayern want benzema

tweet 5 : benzema wants arsenal and will have talks with guardiola and wenger

tweet 6 : wenger has spoken to benzema and its up to arsenal to pay

well you get the drift.

what i'm wondering is how does he know soo quickly what wenger and benzema discussed? does wenger tweet secretly?

maybe wengers handle is notarsenewenger? and benzema is notbenzema?

its just a shame to see soo many headless chickens being directed to the slaughter house.

9.) 12 Aug 2015 00:45:08
Ha ha g62 like always say I have never gone to bed with an ugly woman but Jesus I have woken up with a fair few.

Oxford, 14/ 1 for Tottenham NOT to finish in the top 4. I'll take that bet, thank you very much.

Hey, not often you get a chance to literally laugh your way to the bank. If we don't make it, meh - I predicted we'd finish 12th at the start of the season. I've already been lifted.

1.) 22 May 2022 13:11:24
Yep and they 1/ 33 to finish in the top four lol and we are 12/ 1

I had us to finish top 7 not sure what you are basing your 12th on, we ain’t that bad.

2.) 22 May 2022 13:42:16
At the start of the season, someone here asked for predictions on our finish. I predicted 11th or 12th. After the first 3 games, I thought our finish would be even worse.

3.) 22 May 2022 17:35:18
Sharpe, I predicted us finishing fifth and even put a bet on it earlier in the year. Of course, I would have loved for us to get top four but hey. I can't complain about receiving a casual $400 extra in my bank account.

4.) 22 May 2022 18:21:43
Well done Corbs, hopefully will new additions and extra quality 4th could be a possibility next season.

13 May 2022 10:55:19
Anyone know the stats for the number of red cards our players have received since Arteta became manager? And what's the average for that same period?

1.) 13 May 2022 11:57:28
It's meaningless whatever the stats are. Arteta cannot be to blame for instances like last night where Holding was completely erratic and idiotic.

2.) 13 May 2022 12:44:51
I didn't actually blame Arteta for anything. But if we're suddenly racking up disciplinary points, outside the norm, then that's something that needs to be looked at. Regardless of you thinking the stats are meaningless.

02 May 2022 16:11:07
Have said it before and will say it again because it bears saying. Every time Elneny pulls on the shirt, he puts in a solid shift.

Has kept Kanté, Fernandes, and Rice quiet in his last 3 games.

Absolutely love this lad's commitment to the cause.

1.) 02 May 2022 17:08:54
Have to agree with you sharpie

Now there’s a first.

2.) 03 May 2022 00:34:22
He loves the club and he plays for the badge. Great attitude and personality too. Imo he is a very good squad player, I would love to keep him in the team.

3.) 03 May 2022 13:50:07
You will have to choose Moe between him and Xhaka we can’t keep both if we also want an important on Xhaka. Mind you the squad will definitely be bigger next season.

4.) 03 May 2022 16:23:50
Xhaka will not be a squad player, I think too many football managers rate him highly for him to be one. As for MO he is happy to be one and always ready when called upon.
Next season we have 4 competitions to play in and the squad need to be a lot bigger. So for me Mo is a great addition to gave in the squad not the best but always tidy.

5.) 03 May 2022 17:11:40
Yeah Mo had a decent AFCON good to see he is in the same form.

6.) 03 May 2022 20:23:23
Couldn’t agree more on Elneny. Never got the negativity on him. Cost us what, 5Mil, an absolute bargain. Plays his heart out whenever required, runs and runs, and most important doesn’t throw the toys out the pram when he sits on the bench. As others say, Xhaka is not a squad player, and not just because he is good enough for most first XI, s more I just don’t see his personality allowing him to be a squad player. Elneny will have many suitors at the end of the season, but with more competitions next season I would like him to be offered a new contract. Even more so, I think his recent performances show that although we all want an attacking number 8 to come in, like. a Neves, I personally think a Kante type player who dominates midfield, and who then allows the others to go and play, is more important, exactly what Elneny does, and which is why I would like a Bissouma type player to come in.

1.) 01 Apr 2022 10:20:34
Love it mate ???.

22 Mar 2022 12:11:52
Looks like Paulo Dybala will be a free agent in the summer. Wonder if he'll end up at an English club or stay with a club in Italy.

I've not seen much of him but remember him being talked about glowingly a few years ago. Should Arsenal be interested?

1.) 22 Mar 2022 18:21:14
I don’t think he is someone we need Sharpy. Sadly he is one of those players who seems to be on a downward path. All the talk of the town a few years ago, but been dropped and spent periods on the subs bench in recent seasons I think. So it’s a no from me, especially as he really competes in the number 10 role, where we already have MO or ESR. Happy that we stick with players closer to 20 than 30.

2.) 22 Mar 2022 18:49:15
Doesn’t do it for me mate

He would just be another over paid diva.

3.) 23 Mar 2022 00:48:38
Are we talking about the same player? Dybala is exactly the type of profile we should be aiming for as a club. He's had a few injuries but the guy is Juve's best player. We'd be lucky to get him and he could play the Lacca role with his eyes closed.

4.) 23 Mar 2022 02:20:12
{Ed002's Note - Paulo Dybala (F/ AM) - selling was seen a way to raise the money to buy Verratti or Milinkovic-Savic last summer but he is out of contract at the end of the season and his demands for a new one are very significant - which delayed any agreement. Juventus will try once more but Dybala will be available as a Free Agent in the summer if a new contract is not agreed and as such, clubs outside of Italy can talk with him. Liverpool may make a proposal although there may be lingering concerns over injuries and both the wage and signing on costs are significant. For me, a very good player but getting older and very expensive and I would have thought Liverpool may look toward the future. Manchester City may also offer an option. Atletico could look to him as a Joao Felix replacement if they were to lose him. Spurs with Paratici and Conte offer a very viable option. Those representing the player have spoken to many leading clubs in Europe but it seems prior interest of PSG and Manchester United has waned. Inter are the only Italian side who might be interested. The player wants to move to Real Madrid, but that seems unlikely. }.

I was ready to use phrases like "put a caboose on that runaway train, till I read the last bit of your post, CMF.

I'm actually pretty easy going come transfer time. I don't ask who is coming and I don't judge players I've never seen.

For instance, I didn't know anything about Pepe, or young Martinelli, when they first came over so I never had an opinion of them till I'd seen them a handful of times.

I'm hopeful Jesus works out, but my opinion - albeit before I've watched him in our squad, is that he'll struggle to put 20+ goals away per season.

I don't care if we make a marquee signing; I just want us to sign players that will strengthen us. Players like Saka, Martinelli, and even Tierney (when fit) , who actually play their hearts out.

I'm actually surprised Eddie got a new contract. I won't be surprised if he's sold to Newcastle next summer.

Oxford, if he says we have no chance, you lot will be up in arms, spouting nonsense like, "if he can't believe in the team why should the team play for him". And I'm not even exaggerating or trying to be funny.

At the start of the season, if anyone would have guaranteed you 5th place, most Arsenal fans, me included, would have said it was a good season. That's how bad we were. And here we are at the tail end of the season quibbling over the difference between 4th and 5th.

This team, the way it is, they over achieved.
