I certainly hope so. Both the names have been mentioned so many times arteta n edu must be in there. It would be a big statement to get our first choice. Although knowing the club we probably bring in unheard of talent. Looking forward to new season.

Where do you rank the Rice signing in the biggest signings in the clubs recent history? Must be up there with Campbell, Bergkamp, Ozil and Sanchez.

I think Arteta's post match interview where he made no effort to praise, discuss or defend Ramsdale when asked about him, shows Raya is his number 1.
Fully expect that he won't be an Arsenal player by this time next year, and if I was him I'd be pushing for at least a loan move in Jan.

But what's to say Ramsdale couldn't become world class? He's a very very good keeper for his age but the only way he will improve is by playing, which doesn't look like it will happen with us which is a huge shame.
I personally think he'll move on and the club will regret it.
Interestingly I think our GK coach was at at Brentford before us which has probably got a huge part in us getting and playing Raya.
{Ed014's Note - I could understand the move as Sharpie says, if Raya was the calibre of Alison or Ederson but he’s not.
I felt that last season Ramsdale had improved and was showing way more concentration on the pitch.
There’s surely little doubt as you say HG, that at 24 he’ll only get better.

Yes just read that on bbc G62- the article is 100% correct especially around Havertz being a vanity purchase.
I think unless Arteta deals with his pig headedness we will continue to drop points.

Spot on Bill. You play to the whistle and Raya was completely out of position.
I'm an Arteta supporter and he's obviously completely changed and rejuvenated the club but I think unless he stops believing his own genius he will cost us games with his tinkering.
You could've just taken our starting 11 from last season and just dropped in Rice, and we would be better than now. I don't understand the need to play around with th gk position, and why we brought in Havertz- surely the CF, and wide positions were more important to recruit in.
