When my agent told me arsenal were interested I said yes straight away. There was no question, no debate, no doubt, nothing!
You don't turn down a club like Arsenal. A lot of players would like to be in my shoes right now.

Fortunately (or unfortunately) for Arsenal it's the only club foolish enough to invest. Newcastle done good!

Read that on the website, he's said all the right things and seems to be an excellent signing.

Sagna was a great servant to our club but the fact that Debuchy has come in and settled so quickly means Sagna leaving hasn't even become a talking point.

Pud, that's extremely harsh IMO. I think Debuchy is a good solid signing and in this team, we will do very well.

Just personal opinion and maybe to be proved wrong but weren't great at NUFC nor what I have seen for France. Sagna for me was second best RB in league (after Everton's Coleman).

Like I say I may be proved wrong BUT to me a "good signing" is one that improves the squad (and if "replacing" then that improvement needs to be net of in v out). Now Sanchez improves by shear quality, Chambers improves by depth, and Ospina from what I have seen at the very least covers his out (Fabianski), but I really challenge anyone who thinks Sagna was not a better RB than Debuchy! And what's more the better player goes to a premiership rival! At least ship him off abroad I say.

At least now we are buying the finished products like debuchy rather than depending on young inexperienced players. 3-4 years back we culdnt afford to buy an rb for 12 mill!

But that doesn't mean spend 12m on one arguably not worth 12m. We will see and happy to be eating my words come season end. Will be happy to say I'm wrong if I am. To me no better than Jenkinson tho

Got there eventually! Now seriously, whilst I am truly not a "massive" fan of the Frenchman and believe there were alternates hopefully he will settle and work with the quality around him, and I am proved wrong!
