I wonder what it takes for the board to do anything. It's clear we're not going anywhere with this setup. Do we actually have a CEO (or any higher level executive) who has the capacity to evaluate whether Arteta or Edu are doing their jobs well? Is there a person in charge who can make changes in infrastructure and personnel to make us run better as a football club? To me that's highly doubtful.

Edu messing up just about every sale we want to make while Arteta gets ridiculously little out of his players. Not expecting anyone to hold them accountable for that.

I feel like Arsenal are a club that's doing almost everything wrong at the moment. Harsh? Yeah it might be. Anyway it's making me more and more disconnected to the club. G62 well said about the sleeping giant thing, that sounds pretty accurate to me. It's getting kinda boring to watch us sleepwalk through the seasons.

{Ed014's Note - having watched the mess United made of replacing Ferguson we’ve just jumped head first into doing exactly the same.

Does anyone have an ounce of faith they’ll get anything right. 🤷‍♂️

I don't mate I can't bare to watch how we play anymore terrible I'd even take the Graham days of 1 0 to the Arsenal.

I kind of agree re: United. but it could equally reflect the difficulties in replacing someone who was there for so long with so much influence over the way the club was run. But that only explains the Manager who is a symptom of a deeper malaise at the club which Ed02 (amongst others) has spoken of at length. Until they get that right, which I suspect demands new ownership with a much better insight into how an EPL club ought to be run, I cannot see it happening. I hope things turn around and I am woefully wrong but on yesterdays clueless showing, having had weeks to prepare and make the necessary changes, my expectations are far from high.

Hi Ice mate, it is horrible seeing the club in such a state right now, if we are honest we've been drifting away from being a truly competitive club slowly but surely since leaving Highbury.

All those champions league seasons without getting into the last 8 once; all those seasons of clinching a top 4 place on the last day of the season, the writing had been on the wall for a long time but while we kept getting away with it, we kept ignoring it and refusing to see what we didn't want to see, until finally, bang, we endedup the Spursday night league.
It's been all downhill for the last 15 years and the gap between us and the games top clubs has grown year on year over those 15 years.

But the good news is as City Chelsea and United have all dropped out of the top flight and came back to be champions again and Liverpool were not so different to where we are now before Klopp came along, which Just shows football clubs aren't all about temporary things like poor owners and poor managers they are about all about the true heart and soul of the club, the people who genuinely care about the club and who desperately want the club to be all it can be where it matters most, on the football field.

The fans, we are the life blood of The Arsenal and were here long before Arteta and the Kronkee's came along and will be here long after they have disappeared too.

It's not surprising that arteta is getting little out of the players or 'fringe' players when edu or himself have been touting their service about all summer long, basically saying they are not good enough and then asking them to put in performances for him.
I know it's only one game and we were without Gabriel, partey, laca and auba but unfortunately these situations will occur during the season and we need full confidence in these 'fringe' players to perform.

I agree Ben, you can't under value your employees one minute and then expect those same players to run through walls for you when your backs up against the that wall.

It's complete nonsense management from someone who doesn't know how to treat people.
