gutted to see rvp lifting the trophy
come now arsene, bring us jovetic!

The guard of honour will no doubt be drowned out by boo's. I implore every Gooner lucky enough to have tickets to let RVP know how unwelcome he is. I wanted to jump through the tv and strangle him when I saw him giving the post match interview. Ah well. He'll be past it in 2 years and no Utd fan will remember him in the next generation. I hope short term success was worth it rather than becoming a legend.

Technically all 3 of Van persie's goals were offside.

Well you were right Mr Wenger. They did win the title because of van pursey. Thanks for that. If only we hadn't wasted that Horses placenta on him.
So he got what he wanted which I'm sure has severely pissed us all off, and from a very bitter gooner I would like to congratulate you and say that in my mind, you will always be the second best Dutchman we've ever had.
I need a drink!

Lol there is no other dutchman close to the one we had. this guys is a fraud.

Guard of honour? You're having a laugh!

CheetahChaz97

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Didn't United give us a guard of honour once upon a time? Can't remember what year it was.

I've got a feeling that now they've won the title they might leave RVP out on Sunday to avoid any unpleasantness.

Stezza. {Ed027's Note - We won the league at OT! we won the league at OT!

They gave us a guard of honour in 1991 at highbury

Hi Eds,

1) Which center back do you see Arsenal looking at this summer?

2) Is Victor Wanyama a preferred acquisition over Etienne Capoue (For Both Yourself & The Club)?

Cheers {Ed027's Note - 1. it is hard to say at this stage 2. Yes, yes

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks Ed, is there any names you are hearing though that Arsenal hold an interest in? {Ed027's Note - Koyoute, Ambroieta at the moment, there has been interest in Ogbonna and Zouma in he long past

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you can get all four for a fair amount (Wanyama, Capoue, Koyoute, Zouma)? {Ed027's Note - Of course, but we'd only get one of Wanyama/Capoue and one of Koyoute/Zouma

Van Persie is a streaky scorer

Problem for us is his hot streak this season coincided with our horrible patch where we couldn't score, so his absence was felt even more

With him on this squad and Song, I think we could have fought for the title, seriously speaking

Sunday will sting, lowest point of my fanhood is us giving them the guard of honor. They are the last team I'd ever want to give that to

So according to latest reports, arsenal are going to add Jovetic, Wanyama, Williams, Cesar and Julian Draxler.
Sounds a little bit too good to be true, but what a team we would have.

Hi eds :)

What are the chances of each of these above mentioned players signing for Arsenal with your knowledge?
Any reply appreciated :)

Cheers :)

sean {Ed027's Note - Good chance of Jovetic & Wanyama, Liverpool look favourites for Williams, Cesar is a difficult one, Draxler is another Goetze situation

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem is with those players they are not title winning players, in my opinion we should go fore Wanyanama and a truly world class player you all no who I mean it would make a statement to players and teams across the world. Arsenal are a big team. I will for ever stand by Arsenal but big changes must happen at the club before we become a title winning team

How do NFL/NBA Trades work? and would they work in the premier league, or football in general especially with the financial restrictions coming in?

From what I understand (not much) they are very much like player exchanges?

I should have probably posted on the NFL page but wanted a footballer fans view on whether that thought it was affective?
thanks
Dandan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Actually, NBA and NFL trades would be a tough comparison as they are salary capped

Baseball, however, has trades all the time. However, stars are usually traded to big teams for young players, draft picks and cash. picks would not apply to us. This would be like Everton getting some young players from City for Rodwell. Under the right circumstances, Everton could have requested Guidetti, much how it would work in baseball

Trades between big clubs for players and cash consideration could very well be an interesting avenue, much like we did for the Cole/Gallas swap

I see player and cash consideration coming from Madrid for Bale, so that's a start, but I expect this to happen more frequently and frankly don't understand why it isn't a more common practice between big clubs who are trying to balance a big squad over the course of a season

For example, last year we needed fullbacks and Madrid a striker after the Higuain injury

So we send Bendtner and cash for Arbeloa. Not saying these are the players who would be exchanged, but more so how baseball clubs operate at trade deadlines

HI

sorry not really transfer related but I was wondering what is the busiest page?

I see United has a lot of recent post and Arsenal page always seem to be busy.

I was surprise to see Chelsea and City page quite.

yeah so sorry just a general Question what seems to be the busiest page?

I wanted to know how the FFP would effect a team like monaco.

im not aware of their current financial situation, but if they go out and spend 150 mill on players this season, considering they have only been promoted so they do not have to play champions league. and possibly even spend more if their aim is to get directly into champions league.

I am aware In France, The Direction Nationale du Contrle de Gestion (DNCG), is like a governing body which has been in place for awhile now.

however with the initail FFP penaties being, fines and warnings, will Monaco take the risk and buy some expensive talent, only to set them up as the next two team powerhouse in france? {Ed002's Note - The DNCG is only interested in breaches of financial regulations and ensure debts are not mounting etc.. The FFP rules are separately in the remit of UEFA and apply to Monaco as they will to anyone one else. Monaco will substantiate the spending this summer on the basis of rebuilding and will take a slap on the wrists.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I look forward to seeing these clubs spend above their means and then spiral into oblivion when the money runs dry. PSG are in a city that is worthy, and justifies, a top team at high expense - BUT, there is a limit, and they are already above it.

Agree0 Disagree0

So in lay man terms, does this mean they can spend 150-200 mill and rebuild and only be levied a fine in the upcoming seasons, if and when they qualify for the champions league?

would their accounts be considered from the time they qualify for champions league or before that term?

considering the club will need to apply for a uefa licence once it qualifies for the competition? or do all clubs have to register with uefa before the season starts. If in the 1st state then monaco would only need to register in june 2014 wouldn't it?

Also in regards to chelsea, is the reason for chelsea keeping players like malouda and frank and terry, cole, ivanovic to do with players signed before 2010 and won't be accounted for in the FFP analysis, and the purchase of buying youngsters like hazard and oscar and mata part of that rebuilding model, but at the same time having amortised their contract and transfer values, while also stating that their transfer value will significantly increase due to their age and their transfer market value impact which will also rise. so in a very strategic way, chelsea will comply for the FFP, considering what some sources are claiming that Chelsea are on the outside looking in.

Appreciate your response. cheers for the info. thanks in advance.

When I think about it City's loss to the spurs isn't all that bad. There are two positive sides.
First if Manchester United wins tonight they'll win the title, and that's a good thing because they won't be as motivated as us on Saturday thus increasing our chances of winning.
Second the traitor won't be celebrating the title at the Emirates.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

^^ Is it not the case that we are supposed to give a guard of honour if they win tonight, as far as I remember it is given at the game after you secure the title?

Not sure where this guard of honour idea came from. It kind of snuck in over recent years. I'd can it to be honest.

It looks likely Sagna will leave and personally I think this would be a good thing because his performances of late have looked lackluster, particularly his crossing which has been dreadful all season giving giroud no hope.

I hear the arsene is interested in Corchia who looks to be the goods but personally I'd rather see Clyne from Southampton who's probably available for a similar price of around £5-7m, good young Englishman who has been arguably the best right back this season (my opinion) could be a really good buy and could share the role with jenkinson, like Gibbs and monreal

Your thoughts gunners faithful

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd rather

Jenkinson #1
Bellerin #2

Spend elsewhere

noobGooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Having Jenks #1 and Bellerin #2 is too risky if Sagna goes. Jenks is still young are untested for a full season and worse if he got injured we would be relying on Bellerin whos barely (if at all) played at senior level.

Bellerin should get a cup run or go on loan second half of season.

Personally hope we keep Sagna for one more season but as a number 2

Agree0 Disagree0

Micah Richards if available would be the better option

Agree0 Disagree0

Richards is banned from driving so would be a long way to come on a push bike!

Have just heard that Suarez is to be sold be Liverpool and is going to be offered to us in exchange for Walcott.
We should bite their hand off.
Mark.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

HA!

It's a shame, I would have Suarez at Arsenal most days of the week, Apart from days like yesterday.

I have a suspicion if he wasn't such a person he would be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Messi and Ronaldo. Just no one likes him. including me

noobGooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez is a cheat and serial chomper. doesn't deserve to play in this league, let alone wear our badge

Agree0 Disagree0

His desire to win can sometimes go overboard. but I would give away our 3 forwards for him. dislike him as a person. but damn can be play ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

We'd still have to spend what 35mllion as well as Walcott It's a ridiculous rumour

You know what surprised me most about the Suarez biting issue?

I didn't know he had bitten someone before.
Not that it was acceptable the first time, but I wonder what went through his mind the second time.

I mean fair enough he may have been hungry, but come on mate, just pack an apple in your bag or something.

Nick.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My response to what went through his mind the second time is pretty much the same as any horse chomping on a sugar lump. not much!
I mentioned the other day on here that I didn't think he deserved the pfa award because he was a dirty cheat and then he goes and does this. To say I felt smug was an understatement. I also thought RVP would get it. and after tonight I stand by it. Unfortunately.

i want utd to win the title tonight.

i want our players to clap them on to the pitch next sunday.
i want the players to be annoyed they have to do it.

3 points is a must

malaga gooner

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This is an interesting idea, one I had thought of

Our players should be humiliated at the guard of honor and should be smoking through the nostrils w anger

But I shudder at the thought of RVP receiving that at the Emirates, when he's a turn coat. It would be very hard for me

Anyone for Vermaelen or Coquelin in at cdm v United to add height!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Stop all this Verm at CDM nonsense! Maybe if he was 19 and had time to adapt but not at his age as its just not a longterm strategy, also why against Utd? Coq should get more game time though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I would love to see him there. He plays as a CB more like a DM anyway so the readjustment isn't an issue. It would give Jack a rest & allow Arteta more freedom to move forward as well. Plus when we are pushed he has the defense experience.
Sagalout

Agree0 Disagree0

Again, for the 100th time tv5 is a CB, he should be played at CB but at the moment we have 2 better CBs, his passing and ball distribution is not good enough for CM.

Please if it looks like a dog and barks like a dog it is a dog.

Agree0 Disagree0

You get much less time to receive and distribute the ball as a CDM. I could see Verm getting robbed quite a lot on the ball.

Also if we play all 3 of our CBs at the same time we risk injuries much more and are more likely to be short in the CB area.

Finally, how annoyed would Coq be if Verm played ahead of him. Probably very!

Hope Man u win the title tonight. Don't want them winning it at the Grove. Are we obliged to give this "guard of honour" thing, or is it optional? I don't remember us getting them when we used to win leagues. It seems to be a fairly new phenomenon (do doo be do do). I know we did it for them at Old Trafford, but I'm of the opinion due to bitterness, hatred and frustration to, "how can I put this?" F##K EM! Yeah that'll do.
We'll get it in the neck by everyone, but everyone hates us anyway so b#ll#cks to it.
Let it go Flybo, let it go.

does anyone know if Chelsea win the UEFA Cup then does it give them an automatic qualification to next year's Champions League
because I was just thinking if Spurs finished 3rd when we finish 4th and then if Chelsea win the Europa League does that mean we will get knocked out of four spot and Chelsea will get that 4th Champions League spot

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No, only if they won champions league.
