Read an interesting piece asking if you would be happy for Ade to sign on loan to help cover for Giroud.

Plays similar role, Pacey and experienced in EPL

Negatives - obvious

If he helped us win the league - would you want him for the second half of the season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good question! Well would 2nd or 3rd be so terrible? Even 4th again or a year in the uafa would it really be the end of the world? Or championship football for a decade or two?
Any of the above are preferable to what's being suggested here

Agree0 Disagree0

I just never want to see Adebayor (I assume that's whom you're referring to) wear another Arsenal jersey. Plain and simple. The reasons are obvious like you said. Sure, he's good enough to provide adequate cover and maybe help us win the league, but I don't want to give away my pride in the process.

Remy and Chicharito would be my modest choices. If we were going to spend big, then Lew or Benteke.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not for me thank you, not since that goal celebration.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal is about Class, and that player or human being has none.

if they sign him, i'm out for the season. I won't celebrate the trophy.

that is how real my love for him is.

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't sign him but if we did, some one would have to let me know when he'd gone as I would lose all interest the moment he arrived.
Horrible selfish human being who has so much to be greatfull of but has no respect for anyone but himself.
Makes Betner look like he's with keeping, not many could pull that one off

Agree0 Disagree0

He is one selfish pr.ck pure and simple. He plays when he needs to and if there is a reason to put on a show. The show normally is when he has just started for a new club but when he wants out he is one lazy 'B'. He is not a team player he is all about himself and how much money he can squeeze out of a club. To be quite frank I bet he is quite happy taking his £170 grand a week and doing nothing. That would suit him down to the ground.

I know we could have gone for it big style last night and scored a hat full but at what cost! We are in a Marathon not a sprint this season.

We did everything right last night, put out a strong team to make sure we didn't slip up and got the result with plenty left in the tank for Saturday.

For me I felt it was a job very professionally done by a team who has much bigger fish to fry in the weeks and months ahead.

The permutations for Napoli's are they have score against us not once but twice at least while making sure we don't get an away goal they couldn't manage at the Emirates, I don't think too many would envy their job theses days

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said, against Napoli all we have to do is score, which is a big ask for any club to keep a clean sheet when we have a fit squad.

Well said G62

Re: Flybo post about Andy Townsends comments on Marseilles chance.

I thin when he said GET IN he was talking to Adrian Durham who was standing behind him at the time

I posted last night re potential difficulties Arsenal might come across in the event of a defeat in Naples. Below is the criteria which might come into play in the event that Napoli win 2-0 in a fortnight. Remember matches against Marseilles are discounted until criteria (f)
Criteria (d) would count against us when compared with Dortmund as they scored 2 away goals at the Emirates as opposed to our 1 in Dortmund.
Only the last criteria viz (h), would be in our favour.

The criteria are as follows:-

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (in descending order):

a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question;

b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question;

c) higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question;

d) higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question;

e) if, after having applied criteria a) to d), two teams still have an equal ranking, criteria a) to d) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the two teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria f) to h) apply;

f) superior goal difference from all group matches played;

g) higher number of goals scored from all group matches played;

h) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question, as well as its association, over the previous five seasons.

I hope Arsenal are aware of the above and plan their tactics accordingly.

Watching the game yesterday there were a lot of positives from the defensive side.

Mert and Flamini played great positional defense, and made some timely tackles, while koser was covering the wing while nacho was up the field and besides 2 -3 moments where our defenders gave the opposition clear sight of goal, the job was well done.

the one moment for me which defined the game was being up 2-0, 4 players attacking, lost the ball, and walking back to defend, and flamini setting up the defense and waving his hands telling the others to get back and defend.

attacking perspective, wilshere played great, ramsey is still awesome goal or no goal. great play by that man again. ozil is in some sort of coma. he does have moments of brilliance, but sometimes he just seems lethargic, but I guess you can forgive brilliance . I always wanted berbatov to play for us, but now I think one lethargic mastermind is enough.

Giroud man I hope wenger has a masseur after every game to make sure this guy gets the best treatment. a nice hot female masseur should be the minimum.

Comments if I may.

Arteta and flamini need to be rotated every other game.

Nacho and gibbs need to be rotated every other game.

I think we need a reus, or a draxler added to our team. to give competition to the likes of walcott, gnabry and ox.

Rosicky, should be played for most big games. or sparingly used, due to age and injury history.

midfielders need to be rotated too, likes of jack, rambo, ozil, cazorla

next game against cardiff, must win game to pile some pressure on our opponents. if we can win the next two games, fingers crossed, we can go into december, knowing we just need to keep on top of the league to get that mental advantage.

no team in the last 3 years has had a points total higher than ours at this point and not won the league, so there is a silver lining, but then again this is football and stats are just that. stats.

Nice post and agree with all, Flamini did that more than once to get the attacking players back. It was funny listening to Roy Keane say he had concerns for a lot of our players and we have no steel. Flamini would give him every bit as good as he could dish out.

I also love how cool Mertesacker is at the back and no matter what kind of pass he gets he kills it in an instant and is always looking for a quality ball. Love that guy.

This team in reality has yet to fire on all cylinders as an attacking force, it's going to be something else when it does.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post. I will volunteer to be Giroud's personal masseur. As for Özil, he floats in and out of games. He can be frustrating at times, but has such quality that even when he doesn't play well he still pops up with an assist. Wouldn't be my first choice penalty taker though.
The left back position just shows what healthy competition we have in certain positions. Would be nice to have such competition up front.

Arsenal are poised to snap up Joe Hart and David Silva in a double swap deal for Szczesny and Wilshere, you heard it here first.

Ray,

And the award for stupidest post of the day goes to.

Ray can you hang fire on that one but if you can jack up Aguero and Kompany for Bendtner and Diaby I'm all ears.

Thanks in advance, keep up the great work but be careful not to upset Malaga.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe ray is Malaga

That I the funniest thing I've read in ages. Szczeny is in great form and jack is scoring goals again. Why would we swap them two for a error prone gk and another injured player?

Listen boys don't worry about the next match in the Champions League. There is more chance that Bendtner will become the next Arsenal manager than us losing by that margin.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We are one of the best teams in the world why are fans content with 2nd place?

I know we could have scored few more goals today, but I was so pleased with the performance.
Controlled the game from 1st min to last. defence was solid, midfield was dominant and upfront we had great movement.
ozil may have missed a poorly taken penalty, but I really liked his performance. the runs in behind, the touches, that back heel to sell 2 midfielders, and the ease he drifts around the pitch. Like I said before people don't realise the quality he shows during games because he makes it look so easy.
ramsey is a machine, non stop battler.
wilshere is looking a more attacking threat, making better runs, and getting into good positions in the box.
I can see us winning at Napoli, especially with Walcott back.
