It's very unfortunate and unlucky that all our right side players/cover is out all at once but it ain't unfortunate, that the manager should read the situation that may have been occurring. Why risk two players who can play in the same position on the right, knowing the players records with injury and play all his aces in a piss pot competition. Whos the next player to be shoehorned into a position from the players we have to try and patch up the wound of a mess created by lack of foresight.

Wenger has always fielded a 'weaker' team in this competition, not too sure why he has changed things of late.
With Welbeck and Ramsey out, and Swansea, Bayern and Spurs on the horizon, not too sure why he risked and injury prone Walcott and Ox.
Haven't got a clue what will happen against Swansea. Who will play on right? Ozil left, Sanchez right and Giroud up top?

Well done Steve that's the first profanity that I've seen make it throught the editing stage :)

Although Wenger has often been prompted to get more cover, particularly in the GK and CDM positions, I think it's a little harsh to have a go at him this time. Maybe he shouldn't have risked two first team players but who could predict that we'd lose so many right sided players. We had so many wingers at one stage that Gnabry was sent out on loan to get some game time (that didn't work) .

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 23:01:17
We have injuries but nothing we can do about it. There were no players out there that could improve our team.

I thought bielik looked promising. Adelade will be a better player than iwobi I think.

Debuchy flamnis arsenal careers are over. Chambers worrys be need a loan.

Add Arteta and Rosicky to that and you have quite an exodus next year, which makes this Summers transfer window even more mystifying.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 22:26:33
Poor Chelsea. NOT.

27 Oct 2015 22:18:56
If ox and theo are now both injured, we're left with Giroud upfront and on the right. who exactly? It's pretty worrying considering we have swansea, bayern, and that small club down the road up next! Let's just pray campbell never gets another game.

Debuchy has looked totally past it every game he's played this season. I know he's barely played so rusty and is coming back from a long term injury, but I'd now be looking at moving him on and getting Jenks back as cover.

Quite glad to lose tbh, just a shame about the manner of the defeat. Lol @ raver popping over to laugh at us for failing to win the reserves cup, thrash the mighty bournemouth and suddenly he thinks they're a great team, got to love it. Looking forward to your inevitable 6th place finish and managerial change mate!

Crap performance, but let's give Wednesday some credit.
They played very well against a fairly strong Arsenal 11.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - these things happen dags, you are not the first and certainly wont be the last to fall to an underdog mate..look on the bright side..i won £107 for getting 3 draws up :)

27 Oct 2015 22:30:20
Haha, good on you Ed.
Plus, your boys through on pens.
Happy Toffee?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - like your shower it showed a dearth of talent outside the first team dags, we can use lack of money as our excuse though.. :)

27 Oct 2015 22:30:23
Hmmmmmmm Dags even Arsene admitted it wasnt a strong side and went as far as saying the youngsters are out of their depth.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 22:32:19
Drinks are on you then ed:)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - dead right MgM..i will buy anyone a pint mate..well maybe not any spurs or liverpool supporters.. :)

27 Oct 2015 22:58:37
Bambam,
Our starting 11 was strong enough.
Cech, Gibbs, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Chambers, Flamini, Ox, Giroud.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 21:58:01
It doesn't sound good, Wenger didn't seem that optimistic, admitting " we are short"

Now this is why I get miffed with the bloke

" no s*** " Arsene, that is what the transfer window was for.

As I said tonight could well be damaging

Could.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 22:29:32
Yes ok it was Capital cup so lowest of priorities but the fringe players that should be fighting to get into the first i. e Chambers, Campbell and Debuchy should have been really up for this tonight to show what they are about. Chambers is miles off a being a first teamer and Campbell (Just not good enough) and Debuchcy (Not willing to shows fight for his place) I can see laving next summer. Sheff Wednesday just wanted it more so it does matter how much skill and technique you have if you don't match the drive and fight of the opposition you have nothing.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - could not agree more ryan..

27 Oct 2015 22:30:47
A week ago he was praising himself for not buying a striker and backing Theo, at the time fair play.
If we come up short and its still an if he has to take full responsibility for any failure as well as heap credit on himself for the successes.
We're the only side in Europes top five leagues not to sign any outfield players this summer, Arsene is 1 in 100 manager's which ever way you slice it.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 22:33:41
Understand what you are saying Bambam.
But, we have 2 players for every position, with a bit of rotation.
Injuries are part and parcel of football.
Have many players do you expect Wenger to sign mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its the quality of them back up players that worries me dags, some of them just dont cut the mustard mate..

27 Oct 2015 23:08:26
Ed,
Cech/Ospina.
Bellerin/Debuchy.
Monreal/Gibbs.
Per/Chambers.
Koscielny/Gabriel.
Add to that, Sanchez, Cazorla, Wilshere, Ox, Rosicky, Ramsey, Coquelin, Ozil, Walcott, Giroud, Welbeck, Campbell and Arteta.
Not too sure how many players you have to submit to FA at start of season, but the above is pretty close to the amount allowed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its not the numbers that worry me dags its the quality of the second strings...not good enough imo mate..

27 Oct 2015 23:27:16
Agree Ed, but with the obvious exception of City, I don't think many Prem teams can boast the quality of squad we have.
With a bit of rotation, 2 top players for every position, although I will agree the likes of Arteta, Flamini and Campbell need upgrading.
To cope with injuries, through a whole season of Prem, CL and FA Cup, that's about 60 games, you need a squad of 30 top quality players, that's pretty much 3 per position, that's almost unsustainable.
Injuries bite into any squad, even City have struggled in the past.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 21:56:26
Wenger blaming the performance on our 2 injuries . just made the team look even more ridiculous . both Walcott and the ox seem to be out for a few weeks. really crap Tuesday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 21:42:33
Heaviest defeat against lower league opposition for 56 years . whoops lol.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 21:53:11
No big deal mate but every game from now until May is.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 21:57:16
Lets hope this all doesn't have a knock on effect and hope to heaven wr don't get any injuries. because the back up is poor.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 22:07:07
This is what the likes of you and I were saying in the Summer Steve, I have been saying we need to keep our first 14 or 15 players fit, 4 or 5 of those have gone : (.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 22:10:29
I am going to go out on a limb and say this defeat is not going to shake the confidence of Sanchez, for the most part but also Koz, Bellerin, Monreal, Cazorla, Le Coq, Gabriel or Cech so basically the back 7 and superman!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 22:33:01
Id agree Red but my concern as has been since the start of the season is if we get injuries and they they are coming thick and fast

Its who fills in is the big concern, what I've seen tonight we don't have anyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - fair comment BG..

27 Oct 2015 21:40:12
The worst arsenal performance I seen in years no player look interested cambell is just sub standard and no one in the team with pace and not one playwr capable of breakin down the defence
Strength in depth is non existant . we have a decent first team but a crap squad.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 22:21:59
Just a really poor attitude from our senior players tonight, Giroud just did want to be there atall. The problem with playing young squad players from the reserves is that they lack any real competative drive which is why the more senior players need to lead by example not shirk away.

Campbell, Flamini and Chambers have proved they are not good enough, Debuchy looking unhappy and looks like does not want to fight the RB place with Bellerin. Will not be surprised if leaves in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 21:39:43
Shocking selection decision tonight. Let us pray the extent of the injuries isn't severe. Typical timing as well, with Ramsey also sidelined. We now lack options on the right and I don't want to see Ozil shunted across as he is just starting to find real form.

Does anyone know the details of Gnabry's loan deal? He has great potential and really impressed me a few season's back. He's getting zero game time at West Brom under the cretinous Pulis but with a run of games could well rise like Le Coq. Definitely worth a recall if it's possible.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 21:36:51
Dags my favourite day of the week is Tuesday oops I meant Wednesday lol. Also I might ask bob geldof and the boomtown rats to make a song for the arsenal fans tell me why I don't like Tuesdays . you lot never disappoint one week beating Bayern the next week losing. To the mighty Sheffield Wednesday lol.

27 Oct 2015 21:41:31
Who are spurs playin in this round of the cup?

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Oct 2015 21:47:57
Fair comment ravy but over the season this was the one game that mattered little bit from now on every game for us is massive, a bit like your two games a season but more frequent.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 21:48:57
Well, of course you love Tuesdays Raver. It's a competition the spuds have a very small hope of winning.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 21:52:04
Raver it was so bad, it was just like watching spurs. But not expected.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 22:01:14
Outback it's also a competition you lot will never win you can't even get out of your group lol. Also Steve did you watch us on Sunday we scored 5 and the week before. That we hammered man city. we are so bad to watch lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 22:02:53
Ahh, my mate Raver,
Agree, we weren't good enough to beat Wednesday, but we turned your boys over without getting into 2nd gear.
Looks like we will just have to concentrate on Prem and Champs league, while you boys concentrate on trying to get out of our shadow, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 22:11:06
Love how mine doesn't get posted!? No banter allowed again. Why bother.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you get more air time than most growbun..dont start with all that being a brat malarkey mate..

27 Oct 2015 22:21:56
You are never aloud to post a good old fashioned bit of banter . Very strange I'm sure I never swore or suggested any kind of hate . Best stick to beans on toast for the kids.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i cant say i seen your post growbun, but if an ed deemed it to be repetitive or inappropriate then it will be deleted mate...but theres no need to throw your toys out the pram, everyone gets treated the same..

27 Oct 2015 22:41:35
don't worry I get it! Best just keep to the one dimensional replys. Wouldn't want banter to actually be anything like banter that would just spoil the fun. I am actually half way through a game of 'I know you are said you are ' with a four year old and he seems to be getting the better of me😴.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 21:34:24
Like the look of the Polish kid, Campbell is Tottenham. The back four to be fair should have had enough quality to cope with Sheffield they did not turn up.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 22:05:05
Yanmann what do you mean Campbell is Tottenham. We have class striker called harry Kane. And we had old strkers called klinsmann, linerker gresves sheringham do you want me to carry on lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 23:01:32
Well, to put it in non-expletive terms - He means that Campbell not very good, just like Tottenham. Solid call imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 21:17:51
Things we learn from tonight
1. Never wear that kit again
2. See number one
3. Campbell ain't going to cut it I'm afraid
4. We need a modern day complete centre forward, girioud can not influence a game he can only get on the end of things
5. Matthew has lost it, needs a move
6. Chamber will not make the grade
7. What happened our youth system? Are the best players away on loan the young players were terrible
8, thank god we are out of this 2 bob pointless comp!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 21:35:58
1 . totally agree bloody naff
2.yep
3.Been saying that for weeks
4.Hmmmmm not much service its always difficult
5.Yep, I posted a few weeks ago he wants a move
6.Yep, again been saying since last season he needs a loan move
7. It seems that way, we are light BUT The Owls e in very good form, this was always going to be difficult
8.Spot on.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 21:51:44
Guys really who cares!

27 Oct 2015 21:54:28

2-8, see 1.

27 Oct 2015 21:05:29
How bad has Debauchy become.

I take your point BUT it isn't cold 13c

As I said this could be a thrashing.

27 Oct 2015 21:03:04
No excuses. This is just embarrassing now.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 21:00:59
Yes this is a mikey mouse cup and in the great scheme of things fourth on importance, but this all is worrying and totally embarrassing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 21:00:45
Sickening don't mind losing the game if our second string are out but two first team players out cause of it joke.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 20:42:49
Well the second string not covering themselves in glory although, some did fear the depth isn't there. Walcott and ox seem to be proving my point, disappointingly, like theother uusual suspects, made of glass and don't give us more than 5 or 6 games before going back to the treatment table, worried!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 20:49:58
This happens without fail every October/November we lose 3/4 key players and our season goes to pot, they all come back around end of Feb and we scrap our 4th place! All our injuries happen when it starts to get colder
Let's hope Walcott is not serious.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 20:52:56
'if' Ox and Walcott are out then it proves what has been said after the Summer window, it leaves us very short.

Momentum 'could' well be lost, Swansea is a tough tough fixture.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 21:01:55
At least Cavani and greizmann will be back for the weekend.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 21:11:39
City have had a few important players missing with injuries this season it happens to every one, its how you cope with the injuries that decides if your up to a title challenge or not.
If we, haven't got the strength in depth to deal with it we've only our self's to blame and if we have got that depth there will be no problem, injuries are a surprise to no team over a season and certainly shouldn't be to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 20:37:24
Of course there is a school of thought that Ox and Walcott are miffed at having to even play and not being classed as one of the 'big boys'

Just saying lol.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

27 Oct 2015 20:19:33
Now we are trailing to Sheffield Wednesday should have just fielded the kids to save these injuries we now have ☹.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 20:29:47
Always said that, this could end up a heavy defeat i'm afraid

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 20:38:54
Wenger out?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 21:04:22
Who said that UBI.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 20:05:36
Think we are jinked now Walcott is injured hope he can carry on or we will have used 2 subs in the first 15 mins.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 20:03:12
And now Walcott

We shouldn't have taken any first teamers with us, its bloody stupid .

This menas naff all this game and to lose both Ox and Walcott got give us severe problems for Saturday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 20:34:44
Add Rambo to that list and our right side is pretty empty.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 20:00:14
Shame for the ox to go off injured was hoping he could have a good run in the team while Ramsey was out hope it ain't to serious good to see Walcott come in as his replacement should be a good game.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 20:35:25
You was saying Dooby? :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 19:52:16
Something deeply wrong with the ox legs. Can't trust him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 20:36:32
We will never see the best of him.
Think that injury on first game of season against Villa a few years ago has ruined him.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 19:52:15
So I was right he was injured . This is my concern, that's Jack, Ramsey and now Ox our squad isn't big enough for all these injuries.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 19:49:29
Ox looks injured to me.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 19:46:52
2-1 to us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 20:37:01

27 Oct 2015 21:05:13
Yep

Wasnt it just.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 15:35:25
Bielek being tipped to start tonight, hard to think now people actually thought when he arrived back in January he was going to go straight into the side and were genuinely exited by the thought of it :-), mind you things were quite desperate at the time and there was a lot of straw clutching go on at the time.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 10:56:52
Sheffield Wednesday tonight in a comparatively meaningless cup competition.

Do we pick a strong side to keep the momentum or rest our first team? Thoughts people?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2015 11:16:16
Fringe players and players back from injury.
Mert, Chambers, Flamini, Arteta, Debuchy, Gibbs, plus would throw in Gabriel and Cazorla and Theo or Olly to balance things out.
Ospina injured so Cech in goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 11:37:02
Squad players only with the exception of Ox who needs games, if we win we win and lose the same just use it to give people who need it a run.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Oct 2015 12:03:14
I agree 62 just put all the reserves out with a few of the first team squad through the middle.
