Expecting a big run in, challenge but probably come up a little short for the EPL, FA Cup final 50/50 for the win and a deep CL run.

Ospina, Coq, Bellerin and now Akpom have solved a lot of problems for Le Boss, not sure who leaves in the summer but bring in Schneidlerin and a keeper to challenge Ospina good 12-months for me. I get greater pleasure watching the guys we develop
than just buying the big stars COYG!

apart from when we bought Sanchez though, right?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, Creels I like to see us buy or sign a Sanchez, Bergkamp or Sol Campbell (established stars) to fill a need, only 1-2 per year max for me though as we have a good mix.

Big thanks to the Eds for putting up with all our stupid questions, hopefully you'll get a little peace until may

Believable0 Unbelievable0

All the Edwards not sure on there second names or how they all became mates but they do a good job

Agree0 Disagree0

Their surname is Woodward and they all live together in the big ED house but only Ed001 and Ed003 (i think) have ever actually met.
These are the bits I have picked up over the last couple years.
Although some of it I may have invented in my own Head and said to myself so many times its become true to me, I'm no longer 100% sure myself on some of it

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - quite a few of the EDs have met each other mate..

Apologies Ed, I remember Ed001 saying something about it once but I do have an over active imagination and I have obviously over embroidered it as I do tend to so much in life, just ask the wife :-).
If I had a pound for every time I've left the pub at 11pm to only be picked up by a giant eagle as I reached the end of our road and dropped right back where I started.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - no probs mate..

Has Coquelin signed a new contract - read here today he's 'stalled' on contract!

I'm sure it was reported days ago that it was all signed and sealed for long term!

Reports suggest Napoli made a last minute bid for him and also that he is waiting to see if Jack Wilshere takes his place when he returns from injury before he signs.

I truly hope not and that he signs on the dotted line, he has to be our first choice DM until the end of season minimum, then if we buy another, then two true DM can compete for that role, but not Wilshere, Arteta, Flamini or any other make do.

Agree0 Disagree0

Iv heard he couldn't get there to discuss a deal he was too late.
Stalled his car.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Red if Le Coq has proved anything its just how important having real DM is, using the misuss tights as a fan belt to get you home from the local shop in an emergency is fine but they ain't going to win you a Grand Prix

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - good analogy there G62...love it mate..

Personally I think jack should rotate with Ramsey, le coq is a DM and jack is attacking so it would make no sense rotating those two lol but I really hope le coq doesn't get dropped, personally he's been the reason we've played so damn well lately, we finally have an enforcer in front of our defence couple that with a top notch keeper in ospina were pretty much sorted!

I just swapped the green grass outside for snow; finally, After a tense deadline day. that's what football does to you

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes and finally, my garden looks just as good as my neighbours, who spent years tending and pruning, while I went to play golf. At the moment, I can hold my head high. Apart from that though, I bloody hate the snow.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate it when it snows next door but not on your garden, finally the grass is greener on your side, yet still 'the grass is greener on the other side'

With the recent signings, the squad is finally looking strong enough to compete for the top honours.
In the summer break, I would like to see a top keeper come in for Szczesny. A quicker left back for Monreal and a replacement for Flamini. These are the three outstanding weaknesses in the squad.
My choices would be:
LLoris
Schneiderlin
Mings
Which 3 realistic signings would you suggest?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Is Lloris really realistic Robbie? I'd have thought there was more chance of Neuer myself. Both are highly unlikely but I still think Neuer would be more so

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant argue with robbie there. i'd like to see a striker come in too though at some point. an out and out predator whos world class

I really like the look of Ospina if I'm honest, he has looked assured, some top saves and great distribution, I even think Martinez has looked a better keeper than Szczesny.

So I would see how Ospina does between now and the summer and honestly don't think Arsene is even thinking of a new keeper.

Schneiderlin is one of a few quality DM's it would be nice to bring in next to Coquelin.

I think he'll also be happy with Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gabriel and Chambers as our CB's.

I could see him buying a replacement for Rosicky but no idea who.

He'll probably do something none of us were expecting knowing Wenger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Red dog I think your correct. Ospina keeps it simple. he's happy to watch the game And take part when needed. Collects it gives it. Our other goalie wants to be a hero always I don't think he'll ever be our number1 again

Ur other points seem spot on

Someone mention this earlier (can't remember who sorry but whoever it was please say) that with the emergence of Le Coq and the fact he's stalled on his new contract because he wants regular first football, would signing someone like spyder or khedira either un settle him and secondly would We need them? I know it's good to have squad depth but we do also have arteta and our new boy beilek (think that's spelt right) If spyder was available for say 8-10mil then yes I'd sign him but if it's going to be big money I think that'll unsettle the balance :/ thoughts anyone?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think a lot depends on Bielik and how he develops between now and the summer, Le Coq has shown us the value of having a real DM who is happy to sit and hold so we need two for cover/rotation.
If Le Coq stays I'd be surprised if we sign Spyder too.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have to sign a DM once Flamini and Diaby are not longer part of the team.

bielek is only 17, I do not think he will be given the limelight just yet.

he will play a few games then dissappear for long periods, best bet is cup games.

besides we have many competitions and the idea is to improve to compete, and i'm sure having Le Coq as a backup gives us the flexibility to add someone like schneiderlin.

arteta was most likely given his last contract, and rosicky is 18 months away from the same.

Agree0 Disagree0

For me Larker Flamini lacks the disapline and Arteta isn't and never was a DM I would hate to return to what has come up so Short for so long again. Just my opinion but for me city showed us the value of a real DM and I don't want to return to a imitation/improvised version.

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep coq. let flamini arteta go. and sign a world class DM and push on. coq will get games. give him all fa league cup games and when needed in big away game he sits in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger is not one to change what works.

i do not see flamini returning unless le coq takes a knock and arteta will be the next vermalen, captain by name warming the bench.

i do not see either making the starting lineup unless there are injuries and at such moments we can't do much but accept our fate

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I'd prefer to keep arteta imo, only use him if the game is won and we Anna rest him for the next game. It'd make sense to buy spyder and perhaps play both of them in the big games to ensure the defence is well covered, it's worked wonders at Southampton so can't see why it wouldn't work with us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps by having Le Coq and Beliek available will mean if we do sign another DM it will be a slightly older player, ie Khediria or Bender. someone who is 27/28 and can hit the ground running but is not going to block the long term development of the younger players we already have?
