hi
still feeling the fustration of no new signings as yet, reading the guys posts and much as we are all fustrated by it all I just cannot bring myself to wish Arsenal to lose a game of football, however much of a reality check it might bring to Arsene.
Everytime I watch us play or look for our results, if we lose it tears me apart, leaves me hollow inside.
I hope after this window shuts we are all either far more positive because of good needy signings in the right areas, however if nothing happens I just hope someone at the club can come out and give us suffering fans a clear and concise explanation as to why and what is going on and a clear plan for our future.
As a final thought for the guys who say we should boycott games etc., as it costs so much to watch the games these days I would not wish us all to waste the ticket money by not attending, but I tossed around an idea as maybe at a particular game the home crowd did not enter the stadium, say until after 8 minutes (Tropheyless years), I am sure security wise and logistically wise around the perimeter of the Emirates that would be unworkable but I think would have an impact.
TRYING TO STAY POSITIVE.
3-1 TO Arsenal tonight

{Ed022's Note - Arsenal have NEVER lost a home or away Champions League qualifier. 10 games, 10 wins. We have scored 33 goals in those ten games...Just something to cling onto!}

hi guys,
Not a great Monday at work, the morning spent in the company of a Spurs fan, heck of a long morning I can tell ya.
returning home I hear of a bid for Cabaye (sorry not convinced it what we need) CB has to be priority right now.
I also hear these rumours gathering pace that there's a problem with Falcao at Monaco?, have the Ed's anything on this being true? (what I would give for us to sneak that through under the radar).
So I get home to trawl the rumour/transfer sights for some info and positive news and I find an ITV rumour sight quoting Spurs are thinking of rescuing Falcao from ''i quote'' his Monaco nightmare?, within the same story it quotes us being after a 17yr old PSV winger (Bakkali?)
Am I dreaming all this, I guess and hope its BS but you can't make this stuff up, where are we with our transfers, honestly I despair, but ultimately love the Gunners

hi guys,
i feel the frustration of fellow gooners here and i am still hopeful though that the next 2 weeks of with what seems the longest transfer window in history, that we can strengthen the team with 4 or 5 players of quality.
with the change of managers to the top 3 teams i felt going into this new season it would be an opportunity for us to challenge for the top spot more than ever in recent times. given the promise of new signings plus the quality of players we have and add into this the experienced manager at the helm, who knows what it takes to win trophies in his career at arsenal, it really filled me with confidence at the end of the last season.
i do not believe the top3 sides are any weaker but i was working on the theory that ot may take time for those new managers to bed in and implement their styles on their new teams, hence giving us a chance to get off to a good start and hopefully establish a gap whilst those teams bed into their system etc. this would have them playing catch up to us (for a change) and once again hopefully have us see our early lead through to the end of this season. with the quality squad and new signings i had hoped for i felt sure this could push us over the line, given also that the new signings would be experienced and had that winning mentality and the confidence to get us there.
with wishful thinking i had hoped we would have strengthened through the spine of the side with the following options:
gk cesar/adler
cd williams/ginter/sakho
cdm gundagon/bender/gustavo
st (still don't know, but would have liked higuian)
lw/am fabregas/vadillo/ di maria/sanchez
all a bit of a pipe dream i know but have to think positive.

my only worry with Suarez is that given he has a 6 match ban (is that 6 prem games?) and then he starts his 1st game for us in game 7.
we then have Man u, game 10 or 11 I think and he then takes a nibble out of Evra will he get an 18 game ban lol, could miss a lot of football.

Joking aside it does seem like this deal might happen despite reservations but like everyone says if he pops in 20-30 goals a season and we pick up couple trophies over I think 2 seasons we will keep him for then happy days.

Was wondering who everyone wants in as a CB?, personally I do like Williams, looks solid and an organiser

thanks {Ed027's Note - 5 prem games, one league cup for Arsenal. For Liverpool 4 prem games, 2 league cup for Liverpool

GunnerStu

1.) When it comes to CBs you want the guys who do the best job. Defenders don't always get the rep they deserve. But Williams is a damn good defender. And so is Bassong at Norwich. No joke! Queue all the posters on the site saying 'glad you don't manage Arsenal' etc but you can bore off, I know what I know and that is Bassong is the most underrated defender in the league.

GK - Hart
RB/CB - Richards
CM - Barkley
LW - Sterling or Lallana
ST - Sturridge

Trying to keep an English theme here and build our English/British base for future, any other ideas on good English/British players we could put in them positions

Hull
Stoke
SPURS

CB X2 ( Williams, Ginter)
CDM ( Bender or Gundogan)
ST (?? )
AMF ( Would love Fabregas )

I would like 5, but have no idea for striker, I wanted Higuain and I am just not sure about Suarez but would settle for any of those right now
