All Arsenal fans, I have one question to ask you. When we spend money on the costliest tickets, merchandise and all the love we have for the club. do you expect to see the best for the club in return for the money(good players, competitive squad, ambition to win and create a legacy) or do you like a Mr Kroenke, Gazidis and Wenger making huge salaries and profits from OUR hard earned money. Answer is simple for me. We fans make the club. We make it POPULAR. If we don't, Emirates, Puma Nike etc won't be signing mega deals with the club. Stop everything because this window has proved what Arsenal's ambitions are. Van persie, Nasri, Song's exit proved it earlier but this window is a mirror.
Arsenal is not winning every season with 100 points so I do not understand a Blind Wenger saying we will sign only special players. Certainly our team is not good enough to win anything, it wasnt last year so I don't understand how that same team with 17 players less in the squad is a title challenger.

To all The EDs who say support the club and cut the flak, we respect you but we have supported the club for 8 years now and want to see dividends or else what reason do we have to support the club? That the BOARD makes 154m cash reserves from our money. WOW. is that a reason?
Tottenham Chelsea keep finding special players though they already have a bunch and we dont? when one player gets injured and we don't have a squad player to put in that position.
You say we will talk on 3rd September,,, but why so late when opposite teams d not have time to replace players and desperation leads to panic buys at increased costs. Is that how an AMBITIOUS club operates?

As an Arsenal fan I fear, Ramsey and Cazorla have good seasons and RM, Barcelona, City will come calling on them, Mr Kroenke will sell them off with a smile saying. "Let them go, I want an island in Nantucket. Santi's sale will give me that."
The fans should stop and fight this facade. Player agents never allow transfers to be discreet in today's world and since there are no solid links we have to realize it's too late for us to strengthen also the realization that many players now do not want to play for Arsenal.
No disrespect to any of the Eds, but this is a blatant and hugely visible truth.

1.) I think that is a fair post Gunner_vin. I fear there are many of us gooners old & young alike that feel the same way.
Just why are we failing to convince players to come & join us?
There is surely a bigger reason that we do not know about. It needs some Journo to really investigate & find out just what is happening with the soul of our club.

2.) I support the club because I always have and always will. Benn through worse "slumps" than this, and no doubt will do again.
Been through numerous managers from Terry Neil, different Chairman, different chief execs. Makes no difference, i'll support them all.

To address a couple of your points - Spurs have not bought any special talents - in fact i'd struggle to get any of there purchases into our first team (Paulinho being the only one that I defer judgement on). that's approx 90mm on players tha don't immediately strengthen OUR team. Chelsea/Man City and others are different, they have bottomless pits of finances, we don't - it's simple.

Still days left to go in transfer window - let's wait and see what comes off before writing us off. Remember Anfield '89? its not over till the fat lady sings.

keep the faith!

3.) Good post well said an awful lots of us think as you do.
hope we win on sunday or the villa game will be nothing to what will happen then!

4.) Also think the malaise this window is down to wenger, but think lots going on behind the scenes. ie ownership

5.) @ Green Dream. I respect your support for the club. To make things clear, I am not supporting tottenham's signings or comparing them to Arsenal. But they are trying to build a squad with depth. Come January and february where the business end of the season starts, it's the depth in squad that will see us through. Our current set of 16 are not mechanical Robots who will not be affected by fatigue or injuries. Surely Wenger can see that when people like us can. Even we will continue to support our club but it's not going in th right direction and that's sad.
Obviously we do not have the money like Chelsea/City do. but those people make 3-5 high profile signings every year. We can surely manage 1-2 after 8 years right? Players who will put a little fear in the opposition and help us challenge for honors. And we are only saying this because Gazidis came out talked about 70m warchests and signing Rooney and more than that. We haven't had dreams about all this. Not a single million has been spent.
It's layman knowledge you first sign players and then let players leave. tottenham, Madrid everyone knows how it works. Why the hell did he sell 17 players and now we are stuck and dependent if other teams will sell to us.

2 reasons that I could think of Players not wanting Arsenal anymore :
1) the stupid wage structure. Good players are padi double and triple the wages at other clubs.
2) Arsenal have clearly not shown ambition to win trophies - something which professional footballers dream of since they are kids. (Most recent proof - celebrating the fourth place and Wenger saying - Fourth place is a trophy for us)

Sad and distraught state our club is in.

6.) Very good post mate says it all I'm afraid . After that post there is no need to comment anymore very well summarised.

Hi Ed,
Just wondering with injuries to Alex OC and Podolski and our squad being very thin anyway, isn't Nani a good option?
Already up to speed with the EPL and out of favour with United.
Nobody's trying for him as well and shouldn't be too costly?

{Ed022's Note - I don't rate him to be brutally honest but he would cost under £10m at this point. Don't know that Wenger would go for him. Pods only a short term injury really at 3 weeks. Especially as we have an international break means he will miss 3 league games...}

Let's not compare SAF and Wenger. It's an insult to the now retired man. The reason United fans never called for Fergie's head was he never allowed the club to degrade to this extent. They lost 1-4 to liverpool but won the league that season and 1-6 to City when City won the league on GD.
We are being humiliated by almost relegated teams and mid table teams at home. Swansea, Aston Villa, Bradford. Fans are talking because they care about Arsenal.
It's not the truth that making signings is difficult. Cesar is more than ready to join but Mr Wenger wants a Bargain everywhere. He wants him to take a pay-cut since QPR's relegated and doesn't want to give him a long contract.
Luis Gustavo chose a 11th placed Wolfsburg over us. Ed argues it was difficult to convince a player settled in Germany to move. But he was very much interested and let's face the blunt truth guys. We are no more an attractive option for good players and players are not dying to play for us. WE ARE THE ONES IN DIRE Need of players like Gustavo etc so why not tempt these players by throwing the extra money, and there's plenty of it, to convince them to come.
He is making things particularly difficult for himself and then fooling us saying it's difficult. It's an inflated market thanks to the Citys Chelseas and Psgs but accept it man. Adaptability can guarantee survival not stubbornness or Arrogance.
Mr Wenger talks about top top signings and he shows Andre santos, Gervinho, Park Chu Young to back that claim. These are players we can't even get rid of.
How long are we going to talk about unearthing gems like Henry, Persie Fabregas. Due credit given to him. but players like Chamakh, Arshavin and Gervinho may also claim he had a negative impact to their careers. We support Arsena the Club - not a player or manager and hence we've lived through the unneeded exits of Vieira, Henry, Pires, Fabregas, Cole, Nasri and most importantly Van Persie still we backed him. But what's happening now is unforgivable and with 17 players leaving and the costliest tickets in Europe and so called 70m 80m war chests . honestly WE FEEL CHEATED by the club if the case is that Gazidis only spoke abut spending to guarantee the sale of season tickets. It seems rue in a way now. We need Usmanov, a visonary like Klopp or Rijkaard (he pulled Barcelona from 11th in December to 2nd in May) or any such manager. With all due respect to Arsene Wenger, he is now history.

1.) Well said!

Wenger has had 8 years to right the wrongs, but his stubbornness and arrogance has led us into a downward spiral where players think twice when signing. where has arsene's ambition for the club gone, the negativity rubs of onto the players and eventually the fans, we need success and have the means to achieve it if we invest with the funds we obviously have.
a club like arsenal should be competing with the elite when it comes to signings yet we search the basement for the leftovers and has - been's, or we go and look at a 15 year old from outer Mongolia hoping he will come good, then loan him out for ever.
we have the funds, we have the stadium, we have the fanbase, we almost have a decent team - what we require atm is the catalyst to take us to the next level - separate the men from the boys, the losers from the winners. can wenger be the catalyst? I really want him to, (I don't want him to leave on a sour note but what else can the fans do) but sadly imo wenger has lost the bottle and balls to compete successfully and is happy ambling around hoping to get fourth and juicy profits for his employers. imo, we need an injection of new blood, someone with new ideas and tactics that make the players tick.
its sad times at the emirates and the season has only begun, but it could be over by Wednesday.
wenger should as he is in his last year go out and be the man that he once was not this, accountant wannabe, cash saving, stubborn, arrogant and oblivious to the obvious man. if only he could accept his ideology is wrong,
wenger is not a bad person however, wenger is losing respect with every game, the media doesn't help the cause but I couldn't give a sh*t about red top papers, I only care about the welfare of arsenal football club.
the in wenger we trust brigade will surely be out in their numbers claiming he is the man and patience is required, it will all come good, but we fans have waited 8 years, stuck by him when all our stars left, we have been patient but it has run its course and imo so has wenger.

remember no player or manager is bigger than arsenal football club. no one is irreplaceable.

So you should wonder why is that is the case. Definitely something is majorly wrong with the club and what's happening.

This rough past is now more than 50% of his Arsenal career. It's not a patch. He has degraded the club.

Who the hell is Wenger to give budgets? (If what you say is correct) . then what are Dick Law and Ivan Gazidis for? Wenger is there to do his job and not poke around his incapable nose in transfer negotiations?

Is he a security guard to keep an eye on every move? Lol. time he gets active

{Ed022's Note - Liverpool have agreed a £8m fee for Tiago Ilori (a centre back) so maybe this means Sakho isn't going there now?}
