What happened on the Wanyama front.

KOONER

1.) Heard he is on his way to southampton for about £10 million.

2.) Apparently he is close to sighting for soutiampton

3.) Seems he is now going to be joining Southampton

4.) Southampton

5.) Fellani happened and Wanyama is going Southampton

6.) If the papers aren't printing it, then people on here have got nothing to copy/paste. that's the 'inside info' reality of a rumours site.

7.) Dunno, probably similar to what happened on his back?

337

8.) I believe he's not the main target (2nd, 3rd choice) so until the main target is a defo no go until further movement

9.) Linked with Southampton this am.

10.) Going Southampton? yes southampton in a better domestic league but why leave celtic who are league champions and will qualify for champions league for a mid table (at best) prem team?

11.) Two words - THEIR LEAGUE

no offence spl fans but come on.

12.) Southampton targeting top four next season. Sounds crazy but finished well last season and have signed Lovren with Stoch (the apparent next Arjen Robben) reportedly about to sign. And with one of the promising up and coming new managers in world football (Spoke highly of by Mourinho).

13.) Also Banega a possible for Southampton.

14.) Did you just say Southampton targeting top 4?

Ok Ok I know you qualified it by saying 'I know it sounds crazy'.

Go with your instincts mate. If you know it sounds it, it probably is.

15.) Top 4. I have no words. the shear delusion some people have is shocking. the saints are a great club but a 7th place finish would be considered a wonderful achievement!

16.) 10 mill to Southampton, your having a laugh, Celtic will not let him go for less than 15 mill, and that's a fact, bidding will start at 10
EPL clubs should just pay the price and stop trying to get players on the cheap

This is heart breaking. If nothing is done before 3rd, I want the true fans of Arsenal fc to demand the change of ownership asap! These owners have no ambition, they are interestd in profits alone. don't tell me Wenger is responsible for this mess we are in.

As Roma want Gervinho. I say offer them 20m plus Gervinho for Lamela. This kid will be great.

If you were given a direct choice between Higuain and Lewandoski. Who would you choose? I prefer Lewandoski.

KOONER

1.) As a player Lewandoski is certainly better currently.

But then when you see the bigger picture, Lewandoski has never been at a club for more then 2-3 years I suppose. He is not happy at a side who in last 3 years have won 2 league titles and were in CL final. So even if he were to come here he wouldn't have stayed here for more than 3 years.

So considering that Higuain is better fit.

2.) Higuain.

I don't understand why people underestimate this guy. his stats are off the chart. He has scored 107 goals for madrid in 180 games, most a a sub for 2 years or so.

He is not in his peak, he is not a diva, he has got Arsenal all over him just with his moral values.

I would be shocked if we gave him a 3 year contract, because if we do sign him, next year he will be the hottest thing in the EPL.

and I know the spurs think he will flop. but I think he is going to be a massive player for us. Wenger would not spend 20+ mill if he would not fit in.

The only players I would have over higuain if we could actually afford them, would be Falcao, or Cavani.

Read up into his stats, his heat maps, and then you will see why he is our no1 priority.

If he was english he would start over Wayne rooney, if he was spanish he would start over torres or villa, If he was french he would start over benzema, if he was brazilian he would start over fred and Damiao.

but he is Argentinian. they may not be the best world cup squad, but trying to get a starting spot over Aguero and Messi is almost impossible, especially for the latter.

He has scored the most goals for Argentina in the world cup qualifiers. it does help messi is the one splitting 5 players before laying the ball at your feet, but still his finishing is something we will drool over.

considering it is a world cup year, I can expect him to push himself to the limit, to score goals galore and I can assure you he will do just that.

3.) Lakerville if it comes off then that's exactly what I expect from the player as well. People in outrage over this 3 year deal but what we need to respect is our position as a club these days. He isn't walking into a team full of stars, he's walking into a 'very good' team. He's at peak age and it doesn't surprise me that he would not want a longer contract. We have to accept that until we look like a top 2 team who are likely to reach the finals of the CL, we will have to take some hits in contract negotiations. I am sure if Chelsea, City or United offered him a starting place then he would sign for longer. Still, it's a massive deal for the club and the fans and it gives the player a great platform for success too :)
