Hey eds. I read a blog that Borussia Dortmund are willing to let Lewandowski go for 7 million pounds to BPL clubs. I guess it makes sense since they don't want him to go to Bayern, but 7 million.? That seems a lil too good and low to believe. Haha. Do you guys know anything about this, and know if we would maybe make a move for him? Cheers!

"Victoria Concordia Crescit"

"Victory Through Harmony" {Ed002's Note - Dortmund and Lewandowski were unable to reach agreement over a new deal and they probably won't. Whilst there is no agreement in place for him to join any other club, it is clear that there has been interest from Manchester United and some interest from Bayern Munich, who Dortmund would prefer not to sell to but the player would like to join. Arsenal were represented at a game late last season in Stuttgart and I suspect Lewandowski was of interest then. Napoli, Real Madrid and Chelsea have a sustained interest in Lewandowski but the player seems keen to run down his contract and move to Munich at the end of the season.}

Apparently we're looking to make a bid on Jackson Martinez. Do you know if there's any truth to this eds? Cheers! {Ed027's Note - rumours

LacedUpGooner

1.) Have to give it to athletico. they have had some amazing strikers.

Torres, Aguero, Falcao, Costa.

probably more big names, just not a athletico die hard fan.

from no name to big name, and sold most for big bucks.

Hey eds! I'm starting to see Fabregas rumours start up again! Haha I know they're just rumours. but do you know if there's any truth to Arsenal preparing a bid around 25 million pounds for Cesc? Like I mentioned before about Arsenal staff being told to deter fans from purchasing #4 Mertesacker jerseys. I thought it was either to clear the way for Cesc because we all can dream. or because Per just wants a change in number, or no meaning at all. Haha anyway there's rumours going around saying Mertesacker has been requested to switch to number 2. It sounds more like Arsenal is clearing the way for someone special! (If you go by the rumours). Reality as of now- Mertesacker just changing numbers. Haha anyway thoughts and replies please! I love to see what others think and have to say!

Something we should be reminded of or see :)
We are Arsenal. Never lose the faith. {Ed022's Note - I'll answer this as best as I can from what I've managed to find out regarding Fabregas - as it stands, it appears that the obvious thought is the correct one with regards to his future. From what I've been told, Wenger and Fabregas still do have contact on a particularly informal basis and a few jokes have been made on Wenger's behalf that he should come back to nail down a starting place and secure his place in the Spanish national side - however, Fabregas at the moment seems borderline 'content' with staying at the Nou Camp. It seems that Fabregas will be willing to hold out for a maximum of one more season (if not before in January) before searching for a new club - so where does Arsenal come in? In blunt terms, the moment Fabregas comes available you can expect Wenger to do everything in his power to lure him back to the Gunners, and I expect him to succeed in that. From the position I'm sat in I don't see Fabregas moving this summer as I think he believes he's being 'groomed' as Xavi's long-term replacement - but you never know, I guess? I know this answer seems pretty obvious, but that's what I've been told regarding Fabregas at this moment in time.}

LacedUpGooner

1.) Is he really changing numbers? I'm asking this as I was going to get him on my home kit. If anyone knows before I do this it'll be appreciated

2.) If thiago leaves, I think cesc stays. if thiago stays then I can see a reason for cesc to leave.

Xavi is going to be 34 at the end of the season, they should seriously stop playing him in big games. all he can do is pass the ball. he has no pace, he cannot beat a man with strength and against bayern and brazil, two teams who looked for his weakness rather than his strenght. all he did was pass the ball sideways.

its like a smug old man, proud to do the same thing again and again, while in denial that many people have gone past him and outdone him.

he was great 2 years ago. but its time for him to take a back seat along with puyol. and in 2 years iniesta has to join them there.

3.) If per is changing his number to 2 what is diaby doing? Maybe they r just swapping numbers? Wish fab was coming back but don't think ao this summer

Croydon Gunner

4.) Funnier things have happened in football wouldn't surprise me at all! But we are being linked with every one man and his Dog as always. I have a feeling that Bender is not over yet

5.) Diaby has already changed to Number 24

6.) What ed says makes complete sense, but if he was to announce that he wanted to leave either this season or next or whenever, there would be a huge interest in him, ed do you think he would want a return to us or got to a man utd, city or Chelsea, possibly bayern too

7.) Thanks for the reply ed! And no, I don't think Cesc would go to another team other than Arsenal. especially if it was another BPL team. The terms that we have with Barcelona regarding Fabregas is kinda crazy IMO. Correct me if I'm wrong but a 25 million pound bid from Arsenal is equal to a 50 million pound bid from anyone else. The only way I could see us missing out on Fabregas is if someone puts a ridiculous bid for Fabregas like 100 million. Haha anyway I think there may be other things involved with the buy back clause, but I explained the main one I think.

Hey eds! I heard that Arsenal made a bid of 30 million pounds for Suarez and it got rejected. Any truth to this and what are your thoughts on it? Who would you like to see in this transfer window? Thanks! I'd like to hear others opinions as well! Haha {Ed029's Note - ED02 said that he understands that there was an offer made on Thursday afternoon.}

LacedUpGooner

1.) 08 Jul 2013 09:48:02
It seems like it was an offer made mostly for reasons other than buying the player tbh. Maybe to help with the higuain negotiation etc.

But at the same time if it was accepted for that price arsenal would have been happy.

Speculation ofc

2.) Hi Ed! Does that mean Arsenal wanted Suarez and Higuian? Did Arsenal try and look at Suarez as an alternative? That is serious ambition from a Liverpool fan!

However sometimes I think Arsenal get linked with top players that they could afford but don't want too. I have suspicions they do it to keep you lot happy. let's be realistic Arsenal know 30m will not get Suarez and he won't move there anyway as I don't think you lot pay much which is probably what matters most.

Thanks. {Ed029's Note - From what Ed02 has explained it won't be both.}

3.) This all smacks of desperation. Suarez is a quality player but comes with baggage and also a lengthy ban at the start of he season. Why can't we just get all of our deals done and stop messing around. I think that yet again we have been told a complete pack of lies about available finances. If we had that much available surely we can afford to "pay over the odds" to get the right players in. The consequences of not finishing in the top 4 are much more than juts a couple of million. Same old story I am afraid - all talk and no action - fed up!

4.) Yeah I agree. Because I've been seeing that it was used to push the deal for Higuain. But I think it was made thinking that it would be rejected in hopes that it will make Higuain get wrapped up quicker, and also if Liverpool happened to accept the bid. GREAT! I think it was used almost as a win win situation. It makes sense to me. How bout anyone else? haha

5.) Sign the Hig. It's so simple. Arsenal fans deserve a high class striker after losing rvp.
Pay what Real want and make it happen totally fed up.

Aussie Gooner

6.) Suarez is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world and yes he does come with baggage but personally would love to see him at arsenal and i'm sure wenger would get the best put of him. Out of suarez and huguain suarez is the better option in terms of a proper out and out striker

7.) Arsenal not willing to increase bid for Higuain, is what I have heard. The offer on the table is over Higuain's Market value to them.

Madrid, seem to want to keep higuain, but he wants a more prominent role, which will be unlikely, hence his move is still 50/50.

Ibrahimovic wants a move to madrid, if they sign Cavani. His agent is trying to push a move if they sign Cavani. Chelsea are also looking at Ibrahimovic. (not sure how that reunion will go)

Madrid do not want to pay over £35 mill for Suarez. liverpool want over £40 mill, unless he asks for a transfer then the value will drop. Liverpool are going to buy another player in anticipation of late bids for Suarez in the last week of the transfer window.

Marseille not willing to offer over 6 mil for gervinho, arsenal looking closer to 10 mil, lyon also interested.

and last but not least Arsenal expecting a bid for Koscielny if Thiago Silva moves to Barcelona.

8.) 08 Jul 2013 12:24:14
and also. thanks for the reply Ed0029! haha love the page guys!

9.) Utter Madness! The guys banned for 10 matches. and who knows what else he will resort to on the pitch. I say get the Hig snapped up asap so the squad can set off on tour and properly prepare for the start of new season. Devongooner

10.) The liverpool echo which is always bang on says liverpool want a higher fee than Torres coupled with a suarez transfer request! I think he's staying to be honest.

11.) I see this as Arsenal threatening Real Madrid, if they're going to be T**ts over Higuin, then we'll push up the price on Suarez.
In any case, that's what I'd do! haha

ColbyGarry

12.) Belated move to rush thru the Higuian transfer.

Wenger and Arsenal are way to naive in the transfer market

13.) We never prepare properly for the new season as we always leave it too late to bring in new "quality" players - I just don't get why the penny has not dropped about this yet - perhaps the club is to busy counting the pennies instead!

14.) I concur with many of the respondents. Why on earth are Arsenal bidding for Suarez? I agree he is a World class striker but he also comes with a lot of baggage and he wants to leave England, not Liverpool. I believe Higuan is a better option and why is Arsene ignoring someone like Remy of QPR. Remy already experience in the premier league. I see more turmoil before Arsenal finally get their man and he won't be who we - the fans - are expecting - AGAIN.

According to a few pages I follow on and some dodgy news sites, Wayne Rooney seems to be our number 1 target atm and are willing to break our wage structure for him. Any truth to this eds? Thanks! {Ed027's Note - No

Some crazy reports of three clubs having officially enquired PSG about Edison Cavani. and these clubs are Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Arsenal. Do you know anything of this eds/anyone? Haha even if this is true it would be quite the transfer fee! Love the guy though! Haha cheers.

LacedUpGooner

1.) Wengers always liked him and was linked with him after an interview in the summer before he signed for PSG. However, it is unlikely we would sign him in my humble opinion.

Who is this Patrick Herrmann fellow? Is he any good and a possible transfer target for us? Cheers! {Ed002's Note - Patrick Herrmann has been subject to interest from Juventus, Hamburg and Arsenal. I don't see a January move as likely.}

Fabianski was also wearing #22 from what appears to be the same day as the rest.

Hey gooners and Eds! I thought I'd take a look at some of the recent Arsenal training pics with the talsk of Per wearing number 2. Well there's been talks of Per switching numbers, ene I brought it up, but I'm not so sure we should look into it too deeply just yet. I noticed Gibbs is wearing #22 (I thought that was Sanogo's number) and then Giroud wearing #11 (which maybe will be his with Santos officially gone). I'm not completely sure since I don't know much except for what is actually given to us by media etc. What do guys think? Some changes in numbers or some missing training gear? Haha. What do you think eds? {Ed001's Note - they often mix up their training gear, especially if there are newbies who might not even have received their personalised kits yet. So it could mean absolutely nothing or it could be a tell tale sign!}

Ok thanks ed027. I'd rather have Cesc stay at Barca if he's to go somewhere instead of Arsenal imo. But anyway it was nice to see Oxlade and Walcott put in a pretty good performance for England. I also feel if we were to get Rooney (not saying we are or have thought about it) that he would fit in well as it looks like he was connecting with Walcott quite a bit and wanted to connect with him. I can't remember if was with Alex though. Either way I think he would be a good fit if he were to come to us for some reason.
