Rumours in Spain of Podolski leaving for around 10 mil.

This is tenuous I know, but according to a Frenchman married to a Chilean, living in Ipswich- Radio Cooperativa in Chile has today broadcast that Alexis Sanchez is moving to England - hopefully it's us not the scousers. I am assured they don't make stuff up but having never heard of them prior to this evening who knows - it could be the European press Liverpool Suarez swap mullarkey that's behind it.

We have gained a point on last year despite being below our best. The negative thinkers should consider we only played 3 pre season games, not everyone is fit, the team is still gelling and we haven't yet finished in the transfer market - chill out and enjoy being unbeaten in 3 so far. The next week will have a huge influence on our season both on and off the pitch. If we get it right we could have a great season. It's easy to find fault with the transfer activity, individuals. Performance, fitness blah blah blah but we finished 7 behind Man C last season and we lost at Everton. Let's see how things look in 5 games time before were too critical of Jack, Ollie, Mr Wenger or anyone else eh?

Can't understand moans about the performance yesterday. 3 points is never easy on day1. You could clearly see that some players were rusty/not 100% and palace still didn't get a kick. The only thing that concerned me was how small we looked! I had to sit in a mates seat (just above pitch level as a result of a bad back) and it surprised me to see we have a bunch of midgets in comparison to palace. Mr Wenger had a good summer but I without a bit more physical presence we will remain a tad vulnerable against the bigger (physically) sides. To make it a great summer he needs to give us the midfield powerhouse that just about everyone is craving.

I had know Idea Sanchez was so small. He's very strong all the same but he looked smaller than Cazorla!

I'm not particularly concerned because the Barca team we all love to hate won everything with a midfield avg something like 5"9.

However the physical demands of the prem are much higher as we all know and for me it really made a case for a bruiser CDM. Khedira's (for example) stature would have made a huge difference in that game

Good performance today. Interesting that neither Miguel nor Heyden made the bench and Monreal provided the CB cover. Rumour that Kos has picked up an Achilles problem so next weeks CB pairing may put pressure on young chambers ( who did well today). Talk outside the ground included an alleged enquiry for Winston Reid at West Ham United - no idea if legit but had some support.
Nice to see Pat Rice hand over the trophy and amongst all the positives from today the momentum of winning on a big occasion should keep the belief high and was probably the most important thing for us.

Good luck to TV5. Hoping nothing happens to Kos before next weekend. Have to say that 6 days before the curtain raiser and only 1 experienced CB available is making me anxious. If we don't have someone lined up we could have an early problem.

2 enjoyable days at the emirates. Today we lacked a leetle beet sharpness but you could see some promising signs. Overall I think young bellerin will give Debuchy a run for the RB spot. Chambers looks like he could be a star, the Ox looks a couple of games away from something special and Ramsey just oozes confidence. With the cameos of Campbell and Sanogo and a bright showing from the young keeper on sat there was lots to be pleased with. Negatives - the beers gone up, and the left hand side looks a bit vulnerable. Not sure that santi- Gibbs-arteta works defensively and Monreal makes things worse.
A def mid is a must and I'd like a tough left sided CB to add some defensive depth - otherwise I'd say we will still struggle against big, strong "bullying" type midfields.
Sanchez reminds me of DB10 ( before the Southampton goal) - the crowd was buzzing with expectation and just willing for something special and to be honest he didn't do it but showed all the signs that it's only a matter of time - felt good to have such an exciting talent in a red (overly tight) shirt

It's surreal seeing him in a chelsea shirt but Aaron Ramsey is a better player (clutch clutch)

Good questions Baggins. Ox to be the best English talent not just at arsenal but edging Barkley overall. Chez is still developing but gets better every year. I can see Ospina getting a run if Chez has a dip but would bet on Chez remaining no 1 in a tight contest. Ozil is a tougher one as I think his contribution often depends on the quality of the movement of team mates in front of him. I think he'll do better than last season but we might not see his best until Walcott returns or we buy reus (dream on). I genuinely believe Ramsey was peerless for a chunk of last year so yes world class would fit if he reproduces his that form.
Will we win the league? We might with a fair wind and a bit more steel in the big games. I think we're close enough to dream but right now maybe a DM short of real expectation. I might be deluded but I'm hopeful Arsene is going to pull out a biggie that pushes us into the real belief zone.

The wages are low for a TOP keeper, sadly Casillas is a short, psychologically shot, average keeper that no longer fits that category. Waste of money, rather have someone a bit taller than a marmoset between the sticks.

Oh dear spursman. I'm sorry. Sorry that your team haven't won the league for 53 years, sorry that you can't finish above us, sorry you squandered a 100mil on far less than average players, sorry you have no hope for the future but most of all I'm sorry that you've nothing better in your life other than making a public Arse of yourself on here. Chin up mate, you can have arry back in 6 months.}
