Alot of people saying our squad is thin and needs more depth however I have to disagree. Besides the striking role which needs another face, I personally believe that we have a very good squad with decent cover in all positions. What we have got at this current time is a ridiculous injury record whcih leaves us threadbare.
To have Vermaelen, Arteta, Cazorla, Rosicky, Oxlade, Podolski, Diaby, Walcott, Zelalem, Sanogo all out simultaneously is crazy. that's pretty much another team out injured.
As much as I hate international breaks, i'm fairly glad that one is round the corner as (provided we don't lose others to injury during it) it will those out to rest up and return without missing too many league games.
I also would have no qualms if Wenger fielded a youth squad with the addition of Arteta and Vermaelen (for match fitness) against West Brom in the COC. I obviously want Arsenal to win every game and to get their hands on a trophy but this season I feel we can have a good go in the league. Should we field a strong squad and pick up a serious injury it could impact this.
We all want the best for the team and this, at the current scenario we are in seems to be for the best in our near future.

Still a possibility of getting Ciprian Marica in on a free as he is unattached. Would add a little depth up front. Have to hold my hands up and say I haven't seen him play though.
Would he actually be any good if we signed him?
Failing that Carlton Cole is also on a free lol

2.) That would be a resounding no me thinks, we already had a summer where we got rid of most of the dead wood, don't see any point in bringing in more.

Not sure if it's to shut us up or if it's the signal of change. Personally I think his availability due to the Bale transfer led to this and nothing else. I still think Wenger did not have enough of a plan prior to Ozil signing and had it fallen through or Ozil chosen a move elsewhere Wenger would have been lambasted for it.
I still think we are maybe one or at a push, two signings short however, I do think that this signing will help our season massively. It really is a shame that we currently have so many injuries though as i'd like to see our fully fit 11 with a fully fit bench. Can you imagine the array of talent!

Completely agree with this.
This is exactly how I feel about the situation. We have the nucleus of a good team but need some additions to reinvigorate the team. This way the current players will up their game.
