There is just too much negativity on this site now. Please! with or without new signings we still are arsenal fans. Them boys need our support. Besides, let's wait for transfer deadline at least.

Do we know how much Wenger has in his war chest? Do we know what players or agents he is talking to?

It is his job, let him do it. Judge at the end of the season or whenever he is fired. Not now.

I personally do not think this negativity is healthy.

More than anyone else, wenger knows how much pressure there is.

Eish!

1.) Careful brother!
You have just literally thrown a grenade into the bunker with that one friend!
Buckle up! You are about to get some abuse thrown your way.

2.) We've been asked to "judge me in may" by Wenger for a number of years now, and most of us have - he's no longer right for the job. This years dithering and insane pronouncements that one day the squad is enough and the next it its short, only help prove it. We've had 8 seasons of patience, and that's far more chances than he would have received at any other club. So sorry Soweto-Gunner my patience expired a long time ago.

Wenger is a great manager, the 'money ball' system was great 6/7 years ago when our new ground was being built! But now is only suited for clubs going through the same financial restraints, or a lower placed club that do not have our revenues! We are right up there as one of the most financially stable clubs in THE WORLD, so why are we not now signing the players that will take us forward?
1. AW is too loyal to the players we have. We do have great players, but we also need a few world class players and a better squad depth.
2. AW believes that players are overpriced in the current market and will not be held to ransom for players in a current rich vain of form. He will only pay top money for players that are consistently proven as "top quality".

The problem is Arsene, those players are always going to cost big money and want to go to clubs that are going to genuinely compete on all fronts. They don't see us as being one of those clubs because of our lack of trophies. Therefore are unlikely to consider us.
We have set our stool out as being a club that wants top players but are not willing to pay the price, hence why we always get out bid! Other clubs will pay the money that is asked, and although they are overpriced, they win trophies.

Unless the mentality of our board/club change then we don't stand a chance! Soon we will suffer from a loss in revenue if we can't finish in the top four, and this season may see the start of that! That will start a downward spiral and force the issue that only a HUGE Man city or Chelsea style investment will then attract players of a higher caliber, mainly due to ridiculous wages being paid. This will see a complete change in mentality of how our football club should be run, and end up with us admitting defeat in our much acclaimed business model of self sustained finance.
As frustrating as this window has been, I am still a proud GOONER with respect for how we have managed our finances since the move. However, you can't charge the fans the money they do for season tickets etc, and brag about big commercial revenues coming in if the money is not being reinvested! If you want a business to develope then you have to reinvest your profit and take calculated risks! So come on Arsenal, don't let us down!!

"We will completely respect what Liverpool want to do [and] we want to do that in an amicable way if it's feasible. " Arsene Wenger. We may not like him, but this man is a complete professional.

Soweto-Gunner

1.) Speak for yourself. 'We may not like him. ' I don't think I could have any more respect for a football manager.

2.) Although he is one frustrating manager, we do negotiate I'm the right way.

3.) Agree With original poster

4.) As admirable as we are, I would rather especially with other prem target's mess with them. Give us an advantage, encourage suarez. Do what ever we have to do to get a title winning squad.

Did Ian Wright want to be in the arsenal management? I can't believe he says lfc are better than afc. Bitter? about what? may be you guys in England closer to the action know a thing or two?

Soweto-Gunner

1.) I loved Ian Wright as a player, but as a commentator on football, he simply hasn't a clue. If Suarez were to move to Arsenal, he would in all likelyhood, play Champions League football, perform in a modern 60,000 capacity stadium, work for one of the most respected managers in world football and one that has actually won trophies. He would move to capital from Liverpool. With his goals, Arsenal would be able to challenge for honours and in any case are more likely to succeed than the Liverpool. I also believe he needs a change of club, to put the Evra & Ivanovic incidents behind him.

2.) 02 Aug 2013 10:41:26
Think he angry the way the club is going. Wrighty loves this club km

3.) Challenge for honours? The only thing Arsenal challenge for is a top four spot, even Swansea and Wigan challenge more than you lot. Some of you guys on here need to get your head out of your backsides and get real, this is not directed at the majority of your fans, most of you are realistic but some of you on here, my God. Whether you want to admit it or not a move from Liverpool to Arsenal is NOT a step up, so you finish in the top four, so what, you don't challenge for ANYTHING. What can you say that you've won over the last few years? As a result Suarez will challenge for more trophies with Liverpool, like it or not its the truth.

{Ed022's Note - Devil's advocate. Take Suarez out of your team and you won't make the top ten. Thats how much you need him. He's like Bale for Spurs. If Suarez joined Arsenal, we would challenge for TROPHIES...}

Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal. Now that's more like it. Forget Suarez.

Soweto-Gunner

1.) That I like

When I compare the behaviour of lfc and afc heirachy in this whole Suarez story, I think aresene has conducted himself in a very professional way than them. This will not win us trophies anyway, but still a proud gunner.

Soweto-Gunner

1.) Exactly. I also don't blame him for walking about from Higuain deal.

I agree with you. We may not need Cesc, our mid has enough quality. Even Rambo who many thot was the weakest has been impressing since the latter part of last season and pre-season. Both Cesc and RVP were with us, what did we win?
I do not agree on Nani though, very incosistent.
