Thing this potential morata signing is a great move. Seen him play live in the euro under 21 in israel. Scored the winning goal of that game after subbing on late and was the best player on the field besides isco and thiago alcantara on an extremely talented Spanish team. He has speed, height and will not expect to play every game. It keeps giroud as our number one striker. I believe that we need to sign someone worse than giroud because at the moment we are playing well and a new striker although may be more talented could potentially hurt the squad as a whole. I'm all for a player like lewandowski but that must be in the summer. Don't like to sign starters in January. Don't have a preseason with the team and can possibly take months to be accustomed to the team. Can't really have a guy like Robert lewandowski sitting on the bench. Giroud is the striker for the rest of the season and a good back up that's not named bendtner would be ideal.

Although if we happened to sign lewandowski I wouldn't be too upset. If wenger signed him I'm sure he'd have a plan on how to make it work.

Spot on bro, any striker we sign would have to be cool with not being first choice. You're right about not signing starters in January (except Arshavin, that was awesome!) because they're also cup-tied for the most part and would not be able to help us in Europe. Add to that your point about there not being time to gel with new teamates and I can see why we would be wise to avoid it.

If we get Lewandowski or Suarez that would change everything though :P lol.

I know we have not won a cup in a long time but does anyone really care about the league cup. Personally I would not be satisfied with a league cup. This is the season where we compete for something important. I see the league cup as an extra unnecessary tournament where scrubs like nick bendtner and ryo get to play. The important thing is to get through these next couple games as well as possible and then get to Christmas in the league lead or within striking distance and out of the group in the champions league. But I see the next week or so as the real test of how far we've come. We need a big showing Saturday night.
