mirror twitter reporting that higuian close to joining the gunners after further talks with aw in paris. not sure of the validity of this report however no smoke without fire.

Guys, gals and of course EDs I have to believe that we will buy players. My reasoning for this is simple the squad is now paper thin after the many departures, including some first team shocks I. e gerviniho. I know he wasn't the best but his pace and directness created problems for the opposition in the final third of a game.
I think we have to some irons in the fire cause if not then this will be our worst season ever given no new signings and still the glaring weaknesses. Here's hoping come on AW do the right thing.

Not good news in Marca they claim Napoli in poke position to sign Higuain and offering 30mil needed. Hope this is a load of rubbish or we truly are going to end up with another set of almost world class players.

Ed0027 from one gooner to another how realistic is the higuian deal and what else is in the wings? by the way great work with the site love the criac {Ed027's Note - very realistic, i'd say it's more likely than Suarez. I would think a Cb is a must for us, Williams is of interest, the fee is a problem, Ingo Martinez was also of interest but as you saw today Real Sociedad are no fools, they will milk us off every penny, also been interest in Zouma but he hasn't impressed at the U20 WC. Also expect a holding mid, who? Fellaini fee is an issue, same with Lars Bender, there are others like Kondongbia who would be exciting. I think a Gk will also be signed but I honestly don't know who.

I'm not ITK and won't pretend to be but all I say is FFS let's get out business done right this time. We have a good squad now do it's time to bring in those world class players that tilt the balance. As city showed last season as team of superstars don't make champions but we need a world class game changing striker who when were desperate will put that 30 yarder in or that 2 ff tap in. So come on AW finish in style and bring us a trophy back, up the gooners

Well I think for the first time we have replaced quality with quality. Higuian is a fantastic signing and shows there are real changes afoot. I admit to losing the faith slightly last season with wenger however this is a obvious shift in his policy role on August and let's have at em COYG
1.) Do you not remember the signings of Cazorla and Podolski last season?
2.) Yeah but cazorla ain't as good as fab and podolski is no RVP as much as I hate him. Higuian is the first like for like
3.) Indeed tonyB. Higuain will be the first signing that has been an improvement on what we have lost. About time too.
Don't want him to go if I'm honest. I know he can be woefully ineffective sometimes however I believe it to be more of a confidence issue. I'm sticking my neck out here but think he could be pivotable in our run in this season.
Don't want him mate good shot stopper but doesn't command his area well enough. Would rather we got steklenburg who is having a bit of a slump but over all brilliant.

Do because he's 20yrs old and had a bad injury we should cut our losses now??? And you have been an Arsenal fan for how long!!! You're talking about selling another captain at the least and potentially the only world class midfielder England and Arsenal truly have. Mark my words that boy will be a superstar and for a long time to come.
