£16m?

we just paid for Falcao to join United for the year.

I've said for a couple of weeks I'd like Welbeck but United take gold and we're 3rd round knockout in this scenario.

They also just paid for someone that they don't need. They have Rooney and RVP, falcao is adding anything anything to their attack that they don't already have

Maybe their 3 strikers will play well with Rojo, Blind and Shaw - the 3 left backs they signed.

United already have two top quality forwards. Falcao is a gamble as he had a serious injury and it will be interesting to see how he adapts to the premier league. Whilst we have signed a decent, proven, young English forward.

£16 mill wouldn't even cover falcao's wages for the year. Total cost to utd is 24mil. Crazy money!

{Ed002's Note - That is loan fee and wages - total cost is much higher.}

If you would oblige with a Yes or no Ed.

would the total cost be over 30 mill?

{Ed002's Note - It won't be known until the costs are reported to UEFA. But the reported costs will include all agent, representative etc. fees. Then there is the 5% levy applied by the FA. Various taxes etc..}

Sorry if a dumb question, but do the club signing the player on loan (man u) pay the loan fee to the owning club (monaco) AND the players wages?
Or is the loan fee like a compensation to the owning club, who continue to pay the wages?

{Ed002's Note - It is case-by-case depending on the player and the club. The owning may contribute part or all of the wages in some cases. In the case of Falcao Manchester United pay everything.}

£16m may seem steep but Utd were still selling to a rival. Had we been a club in another league he probably would have come cheaper, but as an English player going to a competitor, he's always going to attract a premium price.
