TIME TO FACE THE TRUTH / OR TO FACE FACTS
i posted at the start of the transfer window . that I thought the 8 years of not winning a trophy will put off the marquee signings from joining us. unless we paid over the top and offered top wages.
It seems that the name Arsenal FC and Mr A Wenger does not carry enough clout for players to want to jump ship.
eg; Man U, chelski, Man C. players jump at those teams cause they pay top wages. and in Citys case they pay over the top to secure the player.
But we not only lost out on players to those teams, we lost players to Napoli, and Wolfsberg. WTF!

Arsenal may been in the top 5 or 6 of the worlds richest clubs (Forbes). but I believe we are outside the top 10 of the worlds clubs that top players would most likely join. therefore the only way to address this situation is to is to pay top wages and to pay over the top.

David Dein saw what was happening, he knew that we needed a rich sugar daddy to pump money into the club
as Chelski were about to take our crown as the top London club. because Wengers youth policy was failing. That was nearly 9 years ago.

This season the league title is up for grabs. Arsenal F.C. have done nothing to address that. we are with 3 other teams for a battle for 4th.

Unless the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future show Mr Wenger the error of his ways, I think we are in for a long hard trophyless season {Ed022's Note -

David dein did not know what was coming, He might have been a great negotiater and had contacts in the game, but he was no fortune teller.

what we have done in 7 years with the stadium, and the costs and selling star players yet competing, no other team in the world would be able to do that.

we made superstars and we sold them, yet we survived, year after year. that in itself is something to be proud of.

Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea, City, their revenue does not match ours, and when they need to increase their stadium capacity or build a new one, they won't just fall out of the top 4, they will fall out of the top 10.

every team in the EPL has at best a 50 million transfer kitty, bigger the stadium, bigger the revenue. for teams like chelsea and city, not winning trophies could let them spiral out of control.

For us we have build a stadium, made amazing commercial deals, created a long term future and a sustainable financial model to play with the best.

it does not happen in one day, and yes it is still to run its course, but the ambition is there.

one day at a time.

look at our core, we have created this team.

when we signed walcott, it was wtf, when we signed ox it was the same, ramsey was past it.

but they have proven themselves.

wilshere, Ox, Walcott, Ramsey. I mean that is one hell of a core.

if we continue to add the same way we did, in 2 years tops, we will be the team to beat.

we may not be the best team, but we do it our way. and for me I love to stand out from the crowd.

we will all be beating our chests soon.

as they say. only through defeat can you achieve and appreciate victory.

Juventus built a new stadium in record time compared to Arsenal yet they continue to challenge and win trophies. They get their main transfer targets and continue to spend. It seems that Arsenal F.C. as others might agree are happy with C.L. qualification and the money it will bring. Q. and may I ask where is the money going? Wake up gooners!

{Ed022's Note - I hear what you're saying but you're basing your point on (allegedly) one of the most corrupt teams, in one of the most (allegedly) corrupt leagues in the world. I think if Accrington Stanley had the right amount of cash, they would be Serie A champions...}

They might have built a stadium, but how much money do they really have? still not a long term solution.

tevez? yea sure for this season and next. they got pirlo on a free, they got pogba for peanuts, luck goes a long way, and they scouted the right players.

this same juventus who lost to bayern twice. the same bayern we lost to at home and went over there and almost made them collapse, with our teenagers.

and incase you did not notice emirates stadium.ashburton grove can hold 20,000 people more.

and also not to forget with future plans to extend it by 5-10k seats and make it a Uefa venue.

no small feat.

only Manchester United and wembley can boast bigger stadiums. from where we were to where we are now. incredible.

we are with the big boys.

first era we were with the big boys on the pitch. now we are with the big boys off it. quite soon we would be capable of combining the two.

stay patient. i'm not a happy gooner, but i'm still a gooner. Arsenal all the way. through the good and the bad.
