O I hold my hands up guys. I have said that I had expected Mesut to produce more because there is no doubt he is class.

I've been thinking though. Mesut didn't have an English pre-season training session and this is also the first year he hasn't had a mid-winter break

Ad the speed of the prem to that and its no wonder the guy is dead beat!

I also think he hasn't got the same quality of players to take the chanced he creates.

My latest thinking is that we need to bear with him for 12 months. Hopefully in that time he will have got up to prem speed and developed the fitness all players need in the prem.and we will have bought players of the quality to exploit the chances he creates

Soops,

No need to apologise mate. I too have questioned Ozil, as I'm sure most of us have.

The main thing is he plays for Arsenal, and whilst he continues to do so, he will always get the full backing of every Gooner.

I always allow any new signing a full season to settle in, we will see what Ozil is like next season, he must wonder what has hit him

L'pool, Man U, L'pool and Bayern all back to back fixtures I don't think any side in the world would win all four of those, I am a tad disappointed we only won one but the damage seems to have been done in the competition we wouldn't mind dropping ( if we had to)

I am sure MO will be different again next year, especially if his mate Lars signs in the Summer

Sooper we all got carried away mate and expected to much to soon. His debut at Sunderland was brilliant and we saw some Bergkampesk touches, he lifted ours the players and the whole clubs belief we were well and truly back.
We have all got carried away at times this season and I do wonder what other clubs/fans think when we boo our team ( united game) when we are 1 point off top spot.
The trouble is we have wanted this so long we are afraid it won't last and we will tail off, but I doubt that more and more each month that we stay there or there abouts

Agreement with all of the above.

Have also said to my non-Gooner friends that he is playing with very different players at Arsenal. At Madrid, he had the class of Ronaldo, Di Maria, Benezema and Higuain in front of him. Not only are all of these players match winners, they all have amazing pace. MO is brilliant at putting in a ball which splits defences as long as the forward player has the pace to get on to it.

I believe when we have an injury free attack of Ramsey, Walcott and The Ox we will see MO back to his best. Add to that a pacey forward to support Giroud and (hopefully) Draxler he will be the Number 10 which we expect him to be.

A quick question to my fellow Gooners, do you think he would be better playing the False 9 role with Giroud wanting to play so deep and picking up the ball and lay it off?
